The chicken liver toast with pickled strawberries doesn't seem like it should work but it absolutely does. The 'fancy instant coffee' fit the vibe of the restaurant and was surprisingly good. I'll definitely want to return when the menu changes with the season.“

“Loved our dinner on the patio, the fried cauliflower, broccoli soup and fig and bacon pizza were delicious plus the drinks and dessert! The scissors to cut the pizza were a delightful bonus, I think I need a pair in my life now😄 Seriously, go try Firehouse.“

“I think a couple weeks to the menu would be needed. We noticed the same garnish with caviar on both hot and cold dishes. The caviar on the hot pork chop wasn't very pleasing. The pork chop definitely needed a pineapple salsa or sauce with it to cut through the fattiness of the chop and grits.“

“Whole menu from start to finish was creative, beautifully presented, and so freaking delicious. The octopus, sea bass and the panna cotta were my favorites. Service was attentive, and all the wines were paired incredibly well. You can tell the owners are so passionate and excited to share their family culture - as they should be! The whole vibe of the place is cozy yet elevated. Definitely plan to come here again!“

“I make it a point to visit Canard Burnside on all of my trips to Portland! The unique flavors and presentations on their menu keep me coming back for more. Had the roasted beets last night for the first time and the flavor was out of this world.“

“Their newer digs in the SE warehouse district are tougher to spot than their pre-covid NW ones, but the hunt is worth it. Look closely for an unassuming sign above the door. Their charcuterie and mussels are as good as ever, and the gazpacho, even better. The new space is divided: One part larger, more airy; the bar part darker and more intimate. Take your pick. The service isn't stuffy but very attuned to the menu and diners. We had a great experience. OP earned its recent rave review in the Oregonian's 2025 Best Restaurants.“

“Cozy neighborhood vibes. Had to remind myself it is a bar. Kinda loud, but then again it is a bar. Scored low on service because there is zero table service. You have to keep getting up to order at the bar. Good burger and fries. Trout chips and dip was different but tasty. Overall good experience.“

“What a great experience. Our party of four was there for brunch. I had apple fritters with side of amazing Hungarian sausage with homemade mustard. - exceptionally good! My wife and daughter had baked pancakes with plums, the other with raisins. Very unique, very good as well. One man runs the whole restaurant from kitchen to table. Loved the experience.“

Food was delicious too, my favorite was the pork chop and the cheese board, but the basil shrimp and butter lettuce salad were also so good! “This is a great first date place. The food presentation was outstanding. However, we felt it was a little blan. They use RC soda products here, which are flat at the bar but have carbonation if gotten from the back. Amazing happy hour!

“Going to Astera is not just going out for dinner: it is a whole different dining experience that goes beyond food and service. Don't get me wrong: the food is amazing and the service is impeccable! But to reduce a dinner at Astera to only this would not do it justice. The atmosphere is carefully crafted, from the lighting to the music, creating a space not only to eat, but to celebrate the art of cooking. “I had a memorable dinner at Higgins Restaurant. I ordered their Oregon Mushroom Set Menu, and each dish reflected their respect for local ingredients. The wild mushroom bisque was particularly delicious, with a smooth texture and rich aroma. The waiter was very professional and attentive, explaining the background of each dish. The elegant yet relaxed atmosphere was perfect for a leisurely meal with friends or family.“

“Hands down one of the best sandwich places I’ve had. Fully appreciate the variety of the vegetarian friendly sandwiches. Got the Fresh Prince, which doesn’t come with cheese and I debated adding it, but i didn’t and I didn’t miss it! The flavors are so well balanced and delicious, the sour dough was just awesome. Everything together was phenomenal, and I immediately wanted more.“

“Tried the Rum Club on a whim while staying down the street and can't wait to go back! The happy hour punch was a steal at $5 and the pineapple fried rice was a huge portion for 2 of us to share. We also tried both the Burning Son & Doors and Corners cocktails, both were delicious. Service was great, friendly and attentive.“

“A little tricky to order a beer. I use the QR to order, the clerk says that didn't receive, I share the receipt, the credit card statement...what adventure just to order a beer 😅.

“Flavorful chicken thighs- very well seasoned! Dan Dan fries are among the best I have ever had- fresh flavors and fries stayed crunchy even in all the yummy peanut sauce!! Huge portions… well too big for a lady to finish! :-) requested hot sauce in the side, glad we did as it was pretty spicy.“

“This was really a lovely dining experience. It definitely leans into the small plate for sharing/ vibe. The dishes were really unique and pleasant. Two standouts were the miso succotash which was a real surprise, and the burnt basque cheesecake which was so lovely in taste and texture. It can be a bit loud for the older set; there is dining al fresco available. There is a nice selection of wines by the glass.“

“I love Dream House, but am begging… Can you bring back your kale Caesar salad? It was no joke, my favorite meal in the entire city. I dream about this salad. I tell everyone about this salad. I’ve brought people visiting Portland to Dream House for it. It’s the perfect meal. The asparagus salad is great, but the Caesar salad was life-altering. Thank you 🙏“

“Great atmosphere if you are any kind of gamer! Food was great. I ordered my steak medium and they nailed it! Service came with a smile! Deserts were interesting and tasty. The beer selection was good! Oh, and I am definitely a gamer! Bought 2 games while we were there!“

“The Cajun fries were really good. I also had a yummy IPA.

We sat outside at the outdoor patio with our dogs and the staff was so nice. They got our dogs a bowl of water and even bit a dog treat in half themselves so they could each have a half.

We happened to be there for drag bingo which was so fun!“

“This is a beautiful spot to sit and listen to some vinyls. Loved the atmosphere and the service was top notch. Why only 4 stars? The food was lacking a little in price and in flavor. We had the burger, BLT, and chicken parm sandwich. The chicken parm sandwich was 100% fantastic but we asked for no pickles. The burger was small for the price especially compared to the price of the chicken parm sandwich. The burger was very bland and I was disappointed that adding tomato would cost extra. The BLT had more lettuce than I'd prefer. One common issue was the garlic aioli is very strong! It was so overpowering that I couldn't taste the cheese on the burger or the bacon in the BLT. The fries were delicious. I would go back again for the chicken parm sandwich. Another issue was we had to wait quite a while for our food but we didn't know about the event down the road and our server apologized so I would definitely check it out on a less busy night.“

“I took my vegetarian significant other to Dame for his birthday and our first March dining experience. Everything was so delicious and the dining month value was good. To get the same thing a la carte would have cost $10 or so more. The food is locally sourced so seasonal dishes. My squid ink pasta was so tasty with a slight kick.
