Amazing and delicious ube shave ice with ube foam and nicely toasted coconut.
The toasted coconut made the flavor meld perfectly.

The shop is located in a covered walkway space with many other shops (ramen on one end). Across the street from Powell's.

The woman making the shave ice was also able to take orders at the doorway/ window if you didn't want to place the order online.
The online shop ordering system was quite easy, though I don't remember if there was an option to leave a tip. There is a physical tip box though.

Other folks dropping by also agreed the shave ice is oh-so-delicious.

Definitely will be back very soon.“

“Have been wanting to try this place for a few years and finally got the chance last weekend. I was feeling a little hesitant about the long line but it moved very quickly and we didn't have to wait long. I ordered the salted malted chocolate chip cookie dough and got a scoop of vegan cookies and cream for my wife. It was DELICIOUS. My wife went in a second time to get a pint for me so we could take it home. Unfortunately it melted because our hotel rooms freezer malfunctioned 😬 will definitely be back for more ice cream when I'm over in this area again.

“Awesome ice cream shop! They have some more traditional sweet, but unique ice cream flavors as well as more savory style. They are generous with their samples, which is great since savory ice cream flavors aren’t common so you can be sure you’ll like what you get before you order it. We sampled a couple flavors, then decided on a flight of salted, malted chocolate chip cookie dough, vegan hazelnut cookies & cream, strawberry honey basaltic with black pepper, and maple koginut squash with pomegranate. They also give you 1 waffle cone with the flight, which was really cool! I loved the sweet flavors, while my girlfriend loved the savory flavors. I would highly recommend stopping in and tasting some out of the box ice cream flavors!“

“I can't speak highly enough about Uri & the folks over at Dairy Hill Ice Cream. They went above and beyond to help coordinate ice cream for our wedding reception! We frequent the Hawthorne location and have always enjoyed the awesome selection they have every day, but the ability to arrange these treats so seamlessly for a large event like this just solidifies them as the best ice cream parlor in PDX! “I had a event I was organizing and reached out to Ice Cream Express WA. I rented one of their carts. I can not say enough about my experience. They were fast on communication, they offer a wide variety of ice cream. The cart is super cute and better then I expected. They dropped off on time and picked it up after the event. Everyone loved the ice cream and thought the cart was fabulous. All day I was asked where I got it. Thank you so much Ice Cream Express. I will reach out again for further events.“

“It was really nice inside friendly people the cookies were great everything was in stock I ordered ahead so when I got there they packed everything up for me freshly everything was made really pretty their cookies make you not want to eat them because they are so pretty but they're so delicious everyone should enjoy them this go round, I will give crumble 5 stars. Each thing that I purchased was amazing. The chocolate chip thins, we're definitely amazing. The dubai biscoff brownie is out of this world and the oatmeal cookie is so moist and delicious. “Matcha ice cream is so elite. It’s very strong and creamy. I am so so impressed! Highly recommend. Ube ice cream also on the same caliber. Ice cream is so so good (on the sweet side). $3.50 for a generous scoop is also unbeatable!

Hojicha is refreshing. The one with milk isn’t as good imo. I’d pass on the matcha latte.

Open until 10pm :D parking can get tough. Love all the cats inside!

There is also an older male staff member who carries himself a bit differently from the others — I’m guessing he might be the owner.“

Popped in a few min to closing and the clerk looked like everything was shut down, covers over the ice creams and floor freshly mopped. They were more than happy to give my scoop, insisting the mopped floor wa not an issue. Only concern was I tried to tip (due to her polite and helpful attitude) but the point of sale limited my ripping amount and I had no cash. Very happy I got my treat! Thank you for staying open“

“We love going to this place when it was first new but as some folks have said here it started to go downhill. The couches were dirty and I only saw the lady that looked like she may be the owner of this place only a few times in the past few years.The drinks were great and delicious but the business started to get neglected. I noticed help-wanted signs and some of the employees didn’t seem happy.The business was also located in a quiet corner away from other businesses but a Happy Lemon was across the street- its only competitor.“

“Its small simple shop, same flavors as the week before. This was my 2nd time and still as great as the first. I think its better than menchies especially because there are sample cups available. Not a lot of selections compared to other froyo places but what they do have is great. I highly recommend this place over other bigger more known places“

I just stopped by here after seeing they have limited BT21 Galaxy series drinks with BT21 merch! This special lasts til the end of this month, so if you're reading this review now, go stop by before it ends!
The place is bright and the staff is friendly! They have two kiosk stations to take your order, or you can always order at the front counter. Their menu is exactly all of the things I love: slushies/smoothies, classic teas, unique special teas, rice bites, and soft serve.

This was my first time dropping by, so I had to grab a Galaxy drink: the Ube, Matcha, Black sesame with coconut milk as a dairy substitute. They also have oat milk and soy milk. I went with their default settings for this drink because I wanted to experience their vision of this drink, and let me tell you, it is not super sweet! LOVE that! It's the right amount of sweetness to me, but you can always adjust the level of ice and sweetness to your liking. I went with the limited edition BT21 jar (blind box purchase) for $30. I love the jar :) Comes with a cleaner, glass straw, and a nice lid. Their drinks are beautifully presented with clean layers and mix nicely with each flavor complimenting each other. Ugh, YES. Finally, a place that has my top 3 favorite flavors in one drink!!! Each Galaxy drink comes with a BT21 designed cup sleeve too. My husband ordered their other Galaxy series drink: espresso, ube, and black sesame with coconut milk. Another solid choice that doesn't disappoint. My daughter ordered one of their many kid friendly drinks, dragonfruit slushy, and enjoyed it. The flavor is vibrant. It reflects the quality of this place.

“Holy Mother of taco! Yesterday I was asked to pick up some tacos. I was actually going to a Mexican food place a couple doors down but they were closed. I saw El Kiosko and thought I should see if they have tacos. I had popped in before and they didn't but this time was different.
I couldn't tell if the tacos were $4 or 4 tacos on a plate.
I asked, it was $4 a taco. I paused and the nice lady at the counter added but they are really big and delicious. I ordered 8 tacos. She cooked them up fresh, about 8 minutes, and brought them out. The bag was heavy.
When I got them home and opened them up I was shocked!

These tacos 🌮 were filled with deliciously cooked high quality steak, onions (fresh & sautéed) & cilantro. There was about 2 1/2 time the amount of beautifully seasoned cooked meat. Juicy but NOT greasy.

There was a cooked jalapeño, fresh cucumber 🥒 sautéed onions and 2 different salsa.
They were delicious. The salsa was tasty and the fresh crispy cucumber took it to a another level.
They were so chuck full of high quality meat, three people couldn't eat them all. Seriously, two tacos is like 4 or five tacos!
Go get some tacos. You won't be disappointed!“
