The service was amazing throughout the meal, I wish I got the servers name as he was really an incredibly friendly young man who clearly knew the menu very well. The atmosphere is wonderful and the interior is just lovely. In terms of the food, I had the wild boar bolognese which was a special that night, and it was AMAZING!! Really, all the food was impeccable, from the focaccia to our mains. Super pleased and the next time I’m in town, I will most definitely be coming back!!“

“Came in on Saturday last week for my birthday and tonight for my girlfriend’s birthday. The atmosphere is chill the views are amazing. Our servers have been engaging and knowledgeable. And the food is outstanding. Last week we did the chef’s tasting with the whole fish as the main course ($90 per person). Tonight we got the fritto misto, the eggplant and eggplant caponata, and the swordfish with green garlic for the apps. The rigatoni, spaghetti, and the trophie for the second course (pasta full plates) and the half chicken for the main course. Everything was delicious but the trophie pistachio pesto stood out as the best dish for my girlfriend and I. We finished the night with two cappuccino’s and tiramisu. It is a little pricey but worth every penny. If you’re looking for excellent food, a great atmosphere and beautiful views Irwin’s is the place. In my opinion Irwin’s and Meetinghouse in Fishtown are the two coolest restaurants in Philly.“

I spoke with Christine who helped me place the order, and helped me to decide the best options for my menu. One of my options was a prime rib, where I received a phone call from Johnny himself to help me figure out the best way to prepare it for the party. When it was time to retrieve the food on the day of the party, everyone I dealt with was friendly and helpful. Johnny once again came out and was talking with me about the food. I appreciate this aspect of a business, it makes you feel like you’re in a friendly environment, rather than a sterile kitchen. The food quality was amazing. Every platter was delicious, and every guest was happy with how the food turned out. The prime rib was the largest hit, not surprisingly. I couldn’t believe the value of everything as well.
