“Food was good, not great. There was no bread or salad offered. Additionally, my chicken parm did not come with a side of pasta, which is fine, but I didn’t know that and I wasn’t even asked if I’d like to add it for an additional fee. I feel like that should have been communicated a little more clearly.“
“Love this place for Gelato and drinks. Feel like in Italy when entering the shop. can eat in or take out Gelato. There is a bar inside that they made fresh coffee as well. Best espresso martini and Aperol spitz. There is a restaurant upstairs too but didn’t try yet. Many import staff from Italy. Very enjoy to be in this place. really recommended“
“This restaurant is located on East Passyunk in South Philly. I love the ambiance and service was great. Meat and veggie platter was delicious. The platter also came with pizza dough which was surprisingly really good. I am also currently obsessed with their gnocchi, it has the perfect texture and the sauce was amazing. Will definitely come back!“
“Heather did a great job, we haven't been here for awhile. The food was great, great service, very nice atmosphere. We will be back we had the egg plant parm and lasagna. Both very good! We will be back to get the amazing looking pizza!“
“Terrific dinner! We had the burrata appetizer and the beet salad to start, cacio e pepe ravioli, rigatoni parmagiana, seafood gnocchi, and chicken Milanese. All were delicious and well-executed. Ricotta cake, orange sorbet and a cannoli for dessert, also delicious. Service was attentive and great.“
“My girlfriend and I decided to come in for happy hour and I’m so happy we did! The food and cocktails were delicious but we were really blown away by the service. Our server, KB, was incredible. She was on top of everything, knowledgeable, personable, and gave great recommendations. We can’t wait to come back!“
“An exceptional dinning experience, but getting in is a bit tricky. The restaurant opens advanced online bookings in intervals of two week blocks, on the Sunday prior. There are two seatings each night, 6:30pm and 8:30pm. If you can’t get a reservation for the released block time, you can request to be added to the wait list. That’s exactly how I received my dinning spot. The experience is intimate, warm and friendly. It truly is like being invited to a friend’s house for dinner, except your friend won’t be serving you these yummy dishes. The food creations are amazing and the courses numerous. The chef announces each dish before it’s served, explaining the ingredients and inspiration. They also provide an extensive wine list and delicious craft cocktails. Highly recommend!“
“Decided to go there because it was in Adrian's in Rocky. The experience was beyond any of our expectations. The food and drinks were amazing, steak was fantastic, cocktails were excellent and dessert was great too. By far the absolute best part of this place is the staff. The opera singing was out of this world. This place is an absolute gem“
“Cozy restaurant with a lot of energy. Hold off on eating the complementary bread because you'll need it for the outstanding mussel appetizer. Another must order is the orecchiette. One of the best pastas I've had in Philadelphia. The lamb shank was just ok. Unfortunately I just recently had it at another Philly restaurant and it was so much better. Barramundi which was a special was a huge disappointment. I've never seen so many things added to a fish dish to overwhelm what I consider to be an amazing fish. This is my second time at this restaurant where the entrees feel short. Stick to the appetizers and pastas. Service was outstanding.“
“We went on NYE and did their NYE special. I think it was worth it. Good portions, tasty food, and lots of options/variety. I definitely enjoyed the steak. My friend enjoyed the fish. We would definitely go back again and recommend. The customer service was great. It was a bit tight size wise a table for two was a bit tight but like i said it was fine. We thoroughly had a good experience. It’s byob so that’s a huge plus!“
“Headed to South Philly on a Friday evening to try out Saloon and had a fantastic experience. The dinner in every area was above and beyond, from the atmosphere, to service, to options, and food. Everything we tried was delicious, and the service was excellent throughout. Prices are high, but we left with enough food for 2 more meals in leftovers so I felt less concerned about the cost. Highly, highly recommend.“
“The service was excellent. The food was also good, we enjoyed the tasting menu which had some surprising dishes such as the carrot & egg custard. The bread and nduja was also a nice addition. However, we spent over $800 between the two of us with tips included (with the tasting menu priced at $215) which I think is way too overpriced. The wines especially are overpriced, for 150pp I would expect more upscale wines than what was on offered. We ended up going with a Barolo instead which was more reasonable but still $170 for a bottle. For these prices, I would expect Michelin 1 or 2 star quality food, which it wasn't (as nice as our meal was). That said, the service was really good with our waiter being extremely attentive and considerate.“
“The space is small. Very small. A dozen or so stools along the bar and 4 or 5 other 2 tops along the wall. They also have a few outside seats.Drinks were good, unique and flavorful without “shock factor”Everything was cooked perfectly. Firm but great texture. My wife and I split each item and were both full at the end. Serving size of these classics were generous.ESCARGOT ARANCINI. Two golden round balls of love. Perfect crispness on the outside and smooth savory center. The saltiness of the sauce really brings it together. One of the best Arancini I’ve had.RIGATONI - forella sausage raguSpicy (but not in your face) and savory. Great texture and smoothness to the sauce.TONNARELLI -cacio e pepeReally good. The pepper is flavorful without being intense. The focaccia is a must to sop up all the extra sauce!“
“The food was excellent and the service was good. We went for an event and I just don't think this space was right for it. We also ended up at their 2nd location by accident and ended up crashing another private party. It was overall a nice time and we enjoyed the food, just wish there was more space to enjoy it in.“
“Fantastic Italian restaurant!Food was great, service was great!Very small inside and tight. I felt like I knew everybody’s business from sitting so close to them. The girl on the right I hope your boyfriend troubles get worked out and the woman to the left I hope you have a safe medical procedure next week.“
“Hands down the best meal I’ve had so far in Philly! We shared the Chef Special and every dish we tried was amazing. Definitely recommend the foccacia (pictured), tuna crudo, ravioli with sweet potato, and cacio e pepe. Our waitress, Kaitlyn, was helpful in explaining the menu and provided great recommendations and service. Can’t wait to go back!Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free pasta is available.“
“My wife and I dined at Osteria for a special occasion and the experience did not disappoint. From the moment we entered the door to the end of our meal we felt welcome and cared for. Our meals were exquisite. This is easily my favorite restaurant in the city now. Bravo to the Osteria team, Chef, and the host Kyle. We’ll definitely be back!“
“The chicken was so tender and delicious that I really wanted 3 more helpings but went for the amazing butterscotch pudding dessert! The Brussel sprouts were crispy and deliciously tossed in balsamic vinegar reduction. The pasta was served perfectly al dente which ever sauce you chose. The pomodoro sauce was just superb! It was just a little tight but otherwise the atmosphere was great as was the staff!!Parking: Best to park in the lot just off of 3rd and Bainbridge as trying to find a spot on the street is near impossible. The lot was convenient and close by, less than a block away. $15 for as long as you want on Saturday or Sunday or weeknight after 5pm. Worth it for the impeccable cuisine!!“
“We've been here several times since it opened, and have experienced good service and food each time. Several of the dishes have been on the menu each time, but some have been tweaked with different ingredients, making them a little different (even though the original was already worth trying again). The "Brown Butter" dessert, the name of which sounded rather unappetizing on our first visit, turned out to be one of the highlights. Definitely try it. Prices are also reasonable, for a more upscale establishment.Kid-friendliness: It's a quiet, intimate environment. Go for a date night and leave the kids with a sitter.“
“Had “The Paesano” from Paesano’s in Philly yesterday. This is in the Italian market area of South Philly which I love (aside from finding parking) and the people who worked here were all super friendly and helpful.I posted a picture with the ingredients for this one. This had a flavor that I’ve maybe never tasted before all wrapped in one. I enjoyed how it all played off each other (I could eat pepperoncini on anything and be happy too) and the roll was wonderful.Unfortunately I will say that the brisket was a bit tough, which surprised me. I believe it was cut on the wrong angle but there were multiple bites where I really had to tear at it. Had this brisket been as tender as it should have, I’d put this sandwich up against most sandwiches in the city…and I mean that. Put a properly trimmed and roasted brisket on this one and it’s up there with the best roast pork’s and cheesesteaks around imoDefinitely Didn’t Suck, but did leave room for improvement for sure.Check out video and more content on this spot and many others on my social media pages here - https://linktr.ee/Didnt_Suck“
“We found this gem about a month ago and came back for another dinner last night. Everything was wonderful. Cozy dining room, although the volume can get a little loud depending on the crowd. The staff were charming and attentive. Nice cocktail and wine selection. The food was absolutely delicious! We will most definitely return.“
“Picture the quintessential neighborhood corner sandwich shop of your dreams - this is it. This is the spot. Found it today and knew at first menu glance it’d be dope. The daily specials (kielbasa & egg sandwich, and Italian melt) were great and already thinking about the next ones I want to try (ex. The Bobby). Slaw, pickle, and Vietnamese iced coffee were great too!The place was happily busy on a sunny Saturday afternoon - line inside but I ordered ahead online since I was walking my dog, and their service was great — I literally stepped inside and within 2 seconds someone came out to greet me, I said I placed order, they said my name and handed me my bag and coffee.I don’t know what we the people of Francisville did to deserve Sandwich Corner Market, but my heart is full (and stomach)(Can you guys maybe make like, a little sandwich sample flight? Like 3 little sliders somehow? I want to try so many at once but can’t be slamming like 3 sandwiches and foresee myself stressing in the future over which 1 sandwich to pick per order)“
“True old world Italian cooking artistry. Opened in 1899 Dante and Luigi's is one of the oldest restaurants in Philadelphia PA. It is certainly the oldest Italian eatery in Philly. Cozy with well dressed wait staff and old world decor. The food tells the story here. I have eating there since college. I took my dates there when I was 18. I go for the food. Delicious is the keyword. Savory tomato sauces, tender meats and exquisite desserts if you have the room after eating your meal. On my recent visit I had pasta fagoli and a side of roasted peppers and provolone to start and their homemade lasagna for the main course. Everything was scrumptious. Even though I was bordering on I can't eat another bite I had the tiramisu for dessert. I couldn't resist. Dante and Luigi is easily my favorite Italian restaurant and a cut about the rest.“
“LOVED IT HERE! Truly authentic Italian cooking, with authentic ingredients to purchase. The staff was so friendly and accomodating on their menu. We had to make a slight change in order for a vegetarian, and they had no issues. We tried their breakfast sandwiches & lunch sandwiches, and each bite was jam packed with substance & flavor (I mean, just look at the layers in my photo.) Fresh ingredients, and an overall quaint/bright spot. This would be an awesome place to post up and get some work done, do some people watching, and enjoy delicious food. Not to mention, their baked goods looked out of this world. We wanted to get so much, but I landed on their passion fruit donut, partly because it was the last one left (so I figured something must be good!) And let me tell you, their dough is different. The donut was dense & fluffy at the same time, and their passion fruit flavor was y-u-m-m-y. I can't wait to go back to try more sandwiches and get some grocery shopping done!“
“Great Italian Hoagie spot in the heart of the neighborhood. The Chicken Cutlet is the real deal. They have just enough crunch to it on a worthy Philly hoagie roll. The people here- including owner- are warm and responsive dishin’ out these beauties. Pricing quite reasonable.Thank you guys for breathing fire into an area that needed a for-real hoagie spot. Now easily on the rotation.“
“I love this place BUTI love this place—the relaxed vibe, the incredible drink menu, friendly staff, and the Super Bock on tap takes me straight back to Europe.BUT I do feel swindled by the auto 20% with minimal/ no indication on the receipt.“
“Really enjoyable meal.. simple yet had a nice atmosphere. It was on the louder side because of the close proximity of tables but still intimate feeling, so it wasn't a negative at all.The menu is on the smaller side, but not in a bad way. Portions are enough to share, and we had the Porcini mushroom and pasta, which was flavorful and had a good balance of each ingredient - meaning it had plenty of mushrooms, sauce and pasta. The dish had a crunchy topping with a little kick, which was a nice texture change. You can easily enjoy a good wine or simple cocktail or just sparkling water with the meal, depending on the mood. It's bright, airy, and a place I could visit regularly and not overthink a nice mealnout.“
“A very fun and unique experience. This members only club has a speakeasy style for access. Everything we had there was top notch. Highlights for me: the lamb chop, the gnocchi, crab pasta and the espresso martini which had 24 hr churned brown butter somehow infused into it. If you know someone with a membership, you should really try to go.“
“Have been here in Roxborough 2 years but never really saw the place until I found it on Google maps. It's a little unassuming on the outside but is really nice on the inside. I think they need a big, bright sign out front facing the street directly.Excellent food. Came for breakfast. Not too salty and they make a great hollandaise sauce. Had the stuffed french toast and crab portobello benedict. Will be back to try lunch and dinner, as well!Prices were good. The food is well portioned. You won't leave hungry.Service is great too. Multiple people checked on us. They check on you consistently for water and coffee. It was busy but we didn't have to wait too long to sit. We also didn't wait too long for food (maybe 15 minutes after order) but they brought our drinks of course within 5. Food came out hot. Can't wait to go back! Definitely recommendDietary restrictions: There is fish on the menu and also a vegetarian burger.“
“We have been getting take out from here for years but never sat inside to eat. We decided for our 1 year wedding anniversary that we would go here and it did not disappoint! We have always called the gnocchi "pillows of heaven." They are the absolute best! We also had the lamb which just fell off the bone and was so tender. And we definitely recommend the buratta for a starter. You can tell that everything is homemade including the bread. The service is also stellar! The staff is so attentive and so nice. We felt like family the whole meal. It's also a byob which is great to bring your favorite bottle of wine. I can't say enough about this tiny south Philly gem!“
“Friends dinner out on a rainy Saturday. Our Mr first time to Noir since the Pandemic. It's even better than we remembered. Same comfortable, relaxed, neighborhoods atmosphere. Same warm and welcoming service. And the food is inspired. Particularly good: broccoli rabe with sausage and beans starter, arancini, gnocchi in mushroom gravy, short rib, and (amazing) spaghetti with crab sauce. Desserts were fresh and especially tasty. Great evening!“
“My husband and I went to a fundraiser here for the first time and enjoyed everything about this hidden gem. We had the chicken parmigiana which was a large enough portion for several meals. The tiramisu was amazing as well. Will definitely be back to enjoy a wonderful home cooked meal.“
“I’ve eaten at a very vegan spot in the area, including the city like Vedge, Monster Vegan etc. and THIS RIGHT HERE is the best of them all, hands down. Everything on the menu is incredible! Legitimately perfect, my only qualm is I wish they were open more!! The Cesar salad with chicken and wings are sooooo delicious.“
“It didn’t taste the same as how they used to taste to me. It’s been a few years since I’d been there. It was missing something. I remember the hoagies being so so good. I don’t know. But it just wasn’t mouth watering like I remember. Service was great. They were nice and friendly. But I’m not giving up that easily. I’ll be back and try them again.“
“One of my favorite places in Philadelphia!Member’s only, been a member since they reopened.Superb cocktails! Amazing dishes, great food. Menu changes often enough and they do specials throughout the year for events. Top tier experiences there always.Wonderful staff and an intimate space.Don’t have any favorites to share as things change enough that what I post about might not be on menu next time.“
“Pizzeria Stella on South Street boasts a winning combination of delicious food and a delightful atmosphere. Their pizzas are truly outstanding – I highly recommend the San Danielle for its perfect balance of flavors. If you're looking for something beyond pizza, don't miss the gnocchi with guanciale bacon – it's absolutely divine!Whether you're a pizza enthusiast or just looking for a cozy spot with incredible Italian food, Pizzeria Stella is a must-try. The ambiance adds a special touch to the experience, making it a great choice for a casual date night or a fun dinner with friends.“
“THIS is the place to be.What a wonderfully warm and friendly atmosphere, from the hostess to the servers to the other guests. Cute decor with a lot of tables that are in close proximity to one another.THIS is the place to eat.OHHH-EMMM-GEEE the food is incredibly delicious. The portions are generous. The menu selections are great and it’s difficult to choose - and then they have daily specials, which makes it even harder because you want to try it ALL!CASH only- no cards accepted.BYOB and the staff will gladly provide the appropriate glassware.Scannicchio’s is a family place…..the employees are all family and when you’re there you feel like family. MY family, we LOVE Scannicchio’s! It’s our family tradition. La mia famiglia. Mangia bene.Parking: Parking is where we you find a spot! Usually a spot can be found on Broad Street.“
“Food was amazing! We almost didn't come here because they didn't have many reviews but we are so glad we did. Food was exceptional and the service was fantastic . We started with the beet salad and octopus, shared the branzino and finished with the tiramisu. We can't wait to come back!“
“One of Philadelphia's charms is its wealth of neighborhood bistros representing regional Italian cuisines. Core de Roma is such a restaurant. Arrive early, as we did, before the place begins to fill up, and you'll meet Luigi, a loquacious, bushy-eyebrowed native of Trastevere who exudes justified pride in his food and his restaurant. This quirky BYOB, perched in the prosperous hills of Bala Cynwood, greeted us with warm, freshly baked bread accompanied by a plate of olive oil, sage, and white beans for dipping. Many delights followed: abundant, freshly made fettucine alla Bolognese; creamy, al dente spaghetti caccio e pepe; a simple, voluptuous tiramisú. Not everything was perfect; such a good restaurant should offer a decent espresso. Still, the pleasures of a small family restaurant, aspiring albeit uneven, far outweigh its odd deficiencies. The left-over fettucine was even better the next day, reminding us to return soon. See you there.“
“Came with a group of 5 on Sunday at the end of brunch and had such a great experience. The food was top notch, the brussels, artichokes, ravioli, risotto and tortellini were some of the best we’ve ever had anywhere. The service was also fantastic! We will be back :)“
“I can only really comment on their sandwiches, which are FANTASTIC. I normally get the Roast Beef or Pork Abruzzi sandwiches and they're great. The stuffed pepper shooters on them are top notch. I sometimes wish their was a bit more cheese on them tho. Sandwich prices are mostly reasonable for what you get.Their chicken cutlet sandwiches are also really really good, better than anywhere else in the area that I've tried ??“
“We had a reservation and ended up waiting for more than 30 min to get our seats. The food was good; typical Italian. We ended up waiting again for the food once we were seated with the whole endeavor taking several hours. The underground vibe is very cool and it seems to be run by a family ☺️ just maybe needs more staff on Saturday nights.“
“We ate here while staying at the Mint for a birthday. We had a good time and the food was good but felt that it was a little over priced (i.e. $42 for an eggplant parm dish and over $100/person without alcohol). Staff was friendly but felt maybe a little under experienced/trained. Timing between courses was a little off (very long between one and then others right away). Cleanliness was perfect but noticed a lot of chipped dishes. Atmosphere was cozy with very comfortable seats. Overall we're glad we experienced it, would recommend to others but may/may not return.“
“Wonderful restaurants with excellent authentic Italian food. The grilled calamari will be ordered every time I visit! The broccoli rob is super tender, the house made pasta is outstanding and my branzino was perfection. I'm so pleased that the patrons in this size restaurant were all using indoor voices!Dietary restrictions: The staff is very aware of a celiac diet.“
“Food is really good I got the fettuccine Alfredo, I got a small pizza half pep that they forgot to deliver with door dash. And a cake … my dasher went out of his way to go all the way back to the store which he didn’t have to do. But a hour later we received the pizza cold as ever but it was still good. I just wish the pizza store would have cooked us a fresh pizza since they forgot to give it to the dasher. But other then that I will be back in person for more food“
“I ordered a plain cheese pizza for take out on a Sunday afternoon. I had to wait 25 minutes but it was worth it. Like most places in the city, parking options are very limited. When I walked in to their shop I saw several happy customers eating away, enjoying their food. The place seats about 20 people. Nice low key , no frills, South Philly Italian pizza parlor vibe with very good food. It beats standing in line at Angelo’s.“
“The food was really good here. I went to Rome earlier this year and it’s definitely the place in Philadelphia that I’ve gone to that has gotten closest to the taste I had over there. The restaurant itself is a little loud and sometimes it is hard to hear, but the food is so worth it. Service was very nice too.“
“Years ago bought fresh pasta when it was called Springfield Ravioli. Since then another good pasta place opened closer to me(Ridley) so haven't been here in a bit. I was looking for good breakfast sandwich in area. Web search, their name came up multiple times. Got scrapple , egg, cheese & son got red pepper, egg and cheese. Heard coffee was good. The sandwiches were great & quickly made. The coffee was fantastic, among best I've ever had. There were two types, a dark roast and a medium roast called "420". I believe locally roasted.“
“This was a great place to grab lunch back when it was located on Baltimore Pike. Now The owner has stepped it up a notch. With a bigger better facility. With a welcoming atmosphere, stylish dine in area and still serving some of our classic favorites.. fresh home made soups, delicious sandwiches, and classic home style dinners. Affordable, delicious, and a staff that is so kind it'll make you want to buy one of their home made amazing desserts. Whether it be on a Tuesday or a Saturday you can't go wrong by stopping in.. definitely one of Delco's finest hidden Jems.Vegetarian options: Not exactly sure what all they have on the menu for a vegetarian. But I do know that Johnny the owner will bend over backwards to make sure your visit is nothing but rememberable.Parking: Located in Springfield shopping center. It is surrounded by a vast parking lot. So even if you can't find a spot right out front you will have issues finding one somewhere.Kid-friendliness: Johnny loves kids. And has all the classic kid favorites on the menu.Wheelchair accessibility: Definitely able to get a wheel chair from the vehicle to the restaurant and at a table with no hassle at all.“
“We've ordered from here repeatedly over the last few months and just did again at my nephew's request. He's visiting and loved the Sicilian so much last time that he wanted it again.Everything we get from here is really good - better than most. LOVE the garlic & parm wings. Got the mushrooms this time- very good, not squishy lil' messes.Have tried most of the pasta dishes- delicious. Food is delivered fresh & hot. And, as a side note, our dog goes nuts when someone comes to the door, so we always instruct delivery people to call from the driveway. It's often hit or miss that they do it... These guys have always been on point. I mention it because it makes things so much easier.Anyway, we ate before I took pics, but trust me, it all looked and tasted fabulous!!“
