“Common bar food, but with nice twists in ingredients. I got the pulled pork with white Alabama sauce. BIG sandwich! Don’t order unless hungry. Same for the burgers. Fries are skin on fresh made. Good but all three of us said it was salty — they use rock salt; classy but I’m a bit sensitive to salt. The Root Down NEIPA was light with fruity scent. Very good! 13 beers on tap. A little noisy; small place. Nearly all food made fresh on premises, and it shows.“

I must say it tastes like the fish was caught today it was so fresh. not sure how it was breaded it but it was light and tasty. I think I am sold going here every Friday night. we had Jen for our waitress who was fabulous. she was so friendly and she gave us the best service. we cannot wait to go back again for this meal. we also had the Italian pear cake for dessert and once again they surprise me with a delicious dessert which I will definitely order this again. don't know how they did it but I give the chef a A plus.“

“Administrative details - While you usually must make a reservation a year in advance (which I did), there are a very few earlier spots available on their website. In addition, if you are on the email list, they send the occasional last-minute availability. Talula’s is BYOB. The price was $125 and with all the other things, taxes, gratuities, it came to $160. The Nook Table is available for 6-8 diners and the Farm Table is for larger parties. Website link is below. Everything is presented in “tasting” small portions. In addition to the menu, they provided a couple of additional offerings. I did not do a good job of capturing the delightful descriptions of the food provided by our server. (The next time I go, I will video the descriptions if they allow.) The group did a great job of bringing wine which was beautifully poured in appropriate glassware by our server. The server also paired the wine with the offerings for us! The service was exceptional without being pretentious. After each tasting, plates, utensils and glasses were cleared and refurbished so discreetly that you hardly noticed. The menu changes with the “farm to table” availability. My favorite was a squash tarte. [I was delighted to find that I did not like the foie gras. It is “made” in a most inhumane and horrible way. This is the only time I have eaten it and I will never eat it again.] I was sorry to find that by the Black Garlic Beef Ribeye (#6 on the list), I was getting to the point of “too much food.” The only downsides were “too much food” for most of us and the wines they suggested for the pairings were hard/impossible to find. I personally did not like the varieties of wines they suggested for pairings. The rest of the party enjoyed the comparable wines they were able to find and allowed the server to pair with the tastings. I will be making a reservation for next year very soon. I have already made a reservation for the “sister” Talula’s Garden in Philly for September.“

“I vist this establishment on occasion. It is always a pleasure. I usually order their burger with the BBQ sauce. The service is very good. The atmosphere is open and airy. You can have a group or choose a cozy nook. Indoor and outdoor seating. It is so worth traveling the extra miles to order!“

We enjoy the innovative seafood dishes prepared well, along with other offerings. It is elegant and intimate, yet informal and comfortable. Its modest size and acoustic design keeps the noise level to a pleasant buzz, avoiding a too common problem for those who actually want to have an enjoyable conversation without raising their voices. Perhaps for this reason, the clientele seems to trend older. It's not trendy, nor for the hard drinking crowd -- just consistently excellent dishes served with friendly efficiency in a pleasant atmosphere.
