Back then, a twin lobster mail with clam cakes was at most, $8.50. Let's say these felt like they were delivered right from the boat. 100% fresh and dang tasty. Now it wasn't $8.50, but I was shocked at how reasonable it was to ship! 100% will order again.“

Prices are fair, if you plan to have more than one glass of wine...in some cases it's more cost efficient to buy the bottle! There is a takeout window and a Tiki Bar on George's beach. Next time, we plan to stay there for the day! Great views of all the boats made for a really wonderful day.“

We had mussels and crispy tuna eggroll. For the main we had cod/polenta puttanesca and pasta w/white clam sauce. Both big servings and cooked perfectly. Dessert was crème brûlée and gelato. “This was our first time having "Rhode Island style" clam chowder. You probably know that New England style is cream based, while Manhattan style is tomato based. Turns out, Rhode Island is "clear." So just stock/broth. My husband and I both really enjoyed this version. Probably more so than the cream or tomato based! The only reason this got 4 Stars is because of the clam cakes. I imagined they would be like a crab cake but with clam instead of crab meat. But that's not the case at all. They were like a salty biscuit rolled in a ball and deep fried. I didn't mind it so much, though they are quite heavy in the gut. But my husband thought there should've been way more clam.“

“This was the BEST RESTAURANT we went to in Newport!! All of the seafood dishes were excellent, fresh and tasty. If you’ve ever been to the famous Oyster Bar in Grand Central station, this place is just as good. Definitely NYC prices for oysters $3.50/ oyster but that seemed to be the average price for a lot of the places in Newport.

The scallops were extremely fresh, sweet and perfectly cooked. Also highly recommend the linguine pasta with calms, along with the lobster bisque. The bisque has HUGE pieces of lobster and was the perfect appetizer. For drinks and dessert, recommend the mojito and the chocolate mouse.

“Wow, a top New York City type restaurant in Newport. Forget the losers comments from years ago. Dress like you’re going first class. Atmosphere here is awesome…2nd floor is special. Drinks are reasonable and delicious. Our server PATRICK WAS AMAZING. They explain specials and drinks. Most attentive and all foods were perfectly presented. Wanna another drink, ask and within 2 minutes it’s there. We had wild mushrooms and salmon that were incredible as appetizers. Caesar salad was fresh and lettuce crisp. We recently tried the new breakfast menu, and our initial impression is that the menu is certainly ambitious, but some of the menu items We’re a *bit* on the heavy side for breakfast. Nonetheless, it’s certainly a unique experience, which seems to be what they aim for.

It’s absolutely clear that the owners of this establishment invest a profound amount of time and energy into training and MENTORING their staff and holding them to a superb standard of service and of course attention to detail.

The front of the house we staff, from the host or hostess, to the wait staff and the bussers: every single interaction is Matt with professional courtesy and in many cases accommodation. The presentation of the order is always done with precision and accuracy, which I appreciate very much.

The products: whether it’s a quick sandwich for lunch or at dinner spread out over a couple of hours, each plate is prepared again, with intensive care and of course, attention to detail.

I have been coming here since they have open, but I have recently become a regular and I have started coming in here for lunch. I’ve had the opportunity to talk with the bartenders and the various weight staff, and from what I can gather there is a very good relationship between the owners and those whom they employ. Is also clear to me that there is a great deal of time and attention devoted to their training in the maintaining of very high excellent standards of service and conduct and professionalism.

It is with great pleasure that I bestow my highest endorsement professional and dedicated staff here at chophouse grill. I am extremely impressed with the quality of the service and presentation I’m such a finally crafted product, as well as the mentoring that goes into it.

The only true recommendation that I have would be to consider tablecloths for the dinner to “soften” the room/atmosphere. I am usually in there for lunchtime, which is a quick and informal affair. Most of the tables seat four; table cloths would be a nice touch and make the setting that more intimate.

“Our family has been coming here since at least the 1950's. Due to limited parking we try to arrive on off-hours. Most times there is Still a line out the door. This time, it was the Sunday of Labor Day Weekend. We wanted to make sure we got our Chowder & Clamcakes before the season's close.
After a few circles, we finally found parking. There Was a line to the door, but it moved along quickly.
We waited about 5 minutes for our order to be ready.
As it was the end of the season, we were able to take our meal into the spacious dining room and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Considering the dining room wasn't manned, the tables and floor were clean.
The food was steaming hot and beyond delicious!
Truly a fitting end to Summer.
