“This is another hidden gem in Memphis. Locally run, well-managed, just off the University of Memphis campus (next to the Tiger bookstore). There is often a wait for seating, but so worth it. Today's feast included the open-faced Florentine omelet (homemade pesto, fresh shredded mozzarella, spinach, tomatoes), cheese grits and one of the City's best Southern biscuits. Rigby has placed 1st in international roasting competitions, which you can tell by his skill in brewing. This is a fully vegan coffee shop that specializes in pour over coffee and the experience that it provides. The experience was top notch and super enjoyable.Rigby makes the pour over coffee for you and allows you to smell the coffee at multiple steps of the brewing process. “This place has a fantastic atmosphere. The workers are all so happy and joking and laughing with each other and the guests, and I love that!As for food, it was great and not so great at the same time. I got a latte made with almond milk, but it seems like it wasn't sweetened at all, so I had to sweeten it and ruin the beautiful barista art.I got "The Rachel" but made vegan and "naked" as a scramble. I was really excited for this, but it had almost zero flavor. I had to load it up with salt, pepper, and hot sauce. Tofu is one of those things that you have to season really well, otherwise it'll taste like a sponge. Also, the vegetables that were on the scramble weren't cooked at all, they were raw.The vegan pancakes, however, were PHENOMENAL! I've never had vegan pancakes that fluffy and delicious. I'm so glad I wasn't able to finish it all because now I get to eat the rest tomorrow lol.Overall, I'd return, I'd just voice my comments beforehand.“

“Wonderful little cafe on main street. Great open space, solid food, it's definitely a treat from some of the craziness in downtown.I've been going here on and off for awhile but haven't been back in awhile as I've moved. The manager (I assumed) was fairly rude and did not add to the otherwise welcoming atmosphere.Instance 1) When I asked for the WiFi, she was very short with me and I didn't even understand what she was saying because she spoke so fast (for context, the cafe wasn't particularly busy at this time and my ability to hear and comprehend things are pretty solid). No problem, just used my hot spot because she made me feel like a nuisance and I didn't want to interact with her again.Instance 2) I was sitting outside, staying after open (never came here much on the weekdays and didn't think they closed at 2 pm, simple misunderstanding). The manager came out while I was in a virtual meeting and took the number I was given earlier for my order. Again, since I didn't know they had closed I assumed she was just collecting it. She came out about a minute later and very rudely told me to leave, clapping her hands and raising her voice. Apparently, when she initially came out she had told me that it's time to go. I've worked in the service industry for 5 years, I know it's annoying when people stay after close, but her reaction was just unnecessary and discourteous as I obviously had not heard her the first time (was in a meeting, headphones in). I am always happy to vacate and certainly respect closing times, again, just a little mix-up that didn't need to be escalated.I'm not one to think everyone in the service industry should "act like they want to be here", I know wages are low, customers can be rude, we're in hard times economically. But it costs nothing to be kind and gracious. Instead of acting in that way, she just went straight to being impolite and uncivil.“

“I had my wedding here! It is super cute and the staff is very nice! I want to start off by saying everything worked out! The staff helped to fix everything! I just mainly want to post it to help someone in the future! I will say make sure you talk over with the venue the things you’ll need to save yourself issues the day of! Their pricing paper says the chair and tables are automatically included with the venue. Just make sure you tell the staff prior. When we arrived they asked me if I needed chair as it hadn’t been told to them and normally they’d had them out and set up for you hours before. I said yes I needed them. Which they made happen. But the owner had to come down and unlock the door to get the chairs. So a delay on that. And he mentioned many times all this stuff was per request. Their pricing paper just doesn’t say any of those things so I had no idea I had to request them! Especially the chairs because that part does say automatically included. I just wanted to post this so it saves someone else the future headache! It just made the whole setup process super stressful. The chairs weren’t prepared so they were dirty so bridal party was all having to help set them up and wipe them down. It was a colder day and it said they had heaters available. They had to scramble to find propane and said it’s suppose to be an additional charge beings propane is expensive. Everything else has a price but the heaters didn’t. And there was an add on section with prices which the heaters weren’t listed in. I would have no issues requesting for these things or paying for them. I just had no clue. Then there was a big screen on the wall we planned on getting married on. The wall I see most people get married on. I planned on hanging floral across the wall like I’d seen in their pictures on their website advertising the venue space. I had no idea that would be up for a wedding! Once again I was told that would be per request to take down. I had no clue that was a permanent thing on the wall. I thought it was for special events. So once again had no clue it would be up and I would have to request it to come down. It couldn’t be taken down they tried. So I had to completely come up with a new place to get married and arrange everything. So setup was crazy. My bridal party was all setting up. Earlier guests were helping set up. We started 30 minutes late because of it. I was late getting dressed because I was rushing around getting it all ready. I had no intentions of setting up. I had a plan and worked all of that out. So me and my fiancée could be taking pictures. Instead we were setting up. It messed up the time I was suppose to have to take pictures before the ceremony and after beings we started late and extra guests were arriving at 6 for the reception. For example my mom was busy coming up with a new plan and getting it all in order we didn’t get to take a photo of her zipping my dress. As she had time just her dressed herself before the ceremony had to start. There was just many pictures I didn’t get to have because of how crazy the setup process was. That was my biggest issue with it! Because it turned out beautiful and amazing! I loved where I held my ceremony even more than the original spot. The pictures I do have are beautiful! But not getting all those photos just really sucks! But like I said it all worked it! It was beautiful! The staff was nice and helped fixed the issues. I’d definitely recommend getting married here! It’s so beautiful and unique! It makes for great photos!“

“I'm staying at the Hyatt and today I opted for a breakfast on the go experience. The food was good and I'll get to that. However, the most striking thing about my experience was the look of this place. It's got the coolest aesthetic. Not only a place to eat, but also a chill place to relax on the many leather sofas and other comfy seating. The music is just the right volume and adds to the fab atmosphere. I'm not sure why this place isn't packed with folks. It's the move if you want a place for simple food delights and maybe a cocktail. Back to the food, I ordered breakfast and it was tasteful and just enough food to refuel my body for the day--well until lunch, at least. If you are in the area, give this spot a shot as you move about your day. It's easy to get to as it's right on the corner and street level at Hyatt Caption. When you do, make sure to check out Karla. She's the best!“
