“We were in Nashville for a wedding and only had time for one dinner and I'm boy am I glad we came here.

I rarely visit a restaurant where everrything we ate was fantastic. We got the focaccia to start, it was topped with roasted garlic crisps, so simple but nonetheless delicious. We also got the broccolini, which was well balanced and the sweet potato which I equate to the michilen version of a sweet potato casserole. Finished with the NY strip and chocolate chip cookies, and by finish I mean clean plate club.

The ambiance and service was also excellent, so warm and friendly. Our server was also kind enough to give us a whole list of other restaurant recommendations.

This place is such a hidden gem.
I almost don't want to write about it to keep it that way. To quote our lovely server, they dont have a huge menu but everything they have, they do very well.

“Wow wow wow! What a hidden gem! My fiancé & I had a perfect date night at Present Tense!! The food was amazing, the atmosphere is unmatched, and the service was fantastic.

We learned near the end of our dinner that one of the servers was sick, so the person who served us was actually the owner, Rick! He was phenomenal & extremely kind!

The environment is engaging and fun. Honestly it was better to us then The French Laundry for creativeness, approachability and environment. Everything was simply amazing while relaxed and fun. The chefs are beyond talented, chatting with you while building and keeping their rhythm on their dishes. It was a phenomenal adventure and we can’t wait to go back!“

“We had a great time at this acclaimed restaurant, with an eclectic menu, such as the glazed pigs ears in lettuce wraps. The former residence has multiple rooms, on two levels, and our one regret is that we sat in a room with about ten tables, and the hard-scape decor meant that the noise level was just below the decibel level of bars on Broadway Stu’s neon district.“

“We had a much needed date night after a long week away and I’ve really been wanting to try Butcher & Bee in East Nashville. Absolutely a new favorite. Flavors are not for the faint of heart and you’ve got to be willing to explore but their approach to Mediterranean fare was amazing tonight. We did the Chef’s Choice sampling menu tonight and it was SO GOOD. You had to tell your taste buds to sit down and wait their turn while the others spoke for a moment. Whipped feta was more than your traditional approach with a very strong Mediterranean flair. Spicy goat sausage plus the hummus on veggies and the crispy chickpeas tasted great. Then a taste of salads and apps including grilled watermelon and a squash salad that was ridiculous! The falafels were flavorful and not just tahini covered. Then came the goat ribs covered in coffee…so rich and so good. Then some dessert of Ecuadorian chocolate covered mousse with pistachios. All of the sauces had levels upon levels of flavor. I can definitely see where this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but if your taste buds get bored and you need some outside-of-the-box flavors and foods, this should hit your list. Tons of families were there enjoying themselves, it had a very cool, laid back vibe and our server Amanda just topped it all off.“

“SC Hot chicken tacos are one of the best HC dishes in town. It’s been one of my favorites for many years now. Everything else on the menu looks just as good, but those tacos win every time. So much so that I’d drive an hour from Fairview to get some. New location in Smyrna looks great, tastes great, and is close to my office. Maybe I’ll finally start trying the rest of the menu!“

“Read about this restaurant on Eater Nashville, so had high expectations. It mostly lived up to it. The Focaccia crust pizza is fantastic, especially topped with burratta. However, the fennel salad was a little bland and grilled dates ok. The restaurant was cozy and excellent service.“

“In town visiting Nashville for the weekend, and needed my weekend coffee. I ordered a lavender Matcha and it was the best latte I have ever had. Mary and Katelynn were the baristas who were very friendly, and provided great service. Will definately be recommending to everyone who comes to town, and will be visiting again!“

“This was our first time at etch and it was phenomenal! The guest service staff was so warm with their greeting as soon as we walked in. Our server, Any was so kind and provided perfect service while we ate at the chef's counter. The beef carpaccio appetizer was delicious to start, and my husband and I had the filet and pork ribeye which were both incredible!“

“Each time we fly through Nashville, we stopped here to eat. The food is really good, and the service is top-notch. The manager, Maverick? I think, will be seen busing tables during busy times. The wait staff is always friendly. This time we had Tracy- a spunky gal with a great attitude. No matter what you order you can’t go wrong with a side of their queso. That wonderfully smooth hot cheese dip is good on everything. Also, most of the time we split when we go here- we get the double patty burger- it’s excellent!“

“Velvet Taco has great tasting flavor combinations, But… the tortillas are cold grocery store type. I ended up just eating the inside of my tacos with chips because the tortillas reminded me of playdoh… change the tortillas to a more authentic (cooked) tortilla and it’ll be sooo much better!!“

“Had a bit of a dine around in Printers Alley this past Friday for my birthday and Black Rabbit was our first stop. We started the evening here for a few drinks and small plates. I also needed to go support this year's Iron Fork Mixology Competition winner Kenichi Saito and enjoy another award-winning Stardust! It was just as delicious as the first time but this time around I got to enjoy the entire drink guilt free. I also ordered the Mezcal Old Fashioned and The Hoffa Connection. Both were great. They have several Old Fashioneds (vodka, gin, and Bourbon) and I want to go back and try them all! We also enjoyed the Rabbit Rolls, the Pork Tacos from the happy hour menu, some sourdough, and the cacio e pepe. We thoroughly found everything to be delicious and wouldn't hesitate to order what we had again; although I'd like to try the rest of the menu too. Service was great and we can't wait to return. “My sister and I treat ourselves every weekend dining out, somewhere nice. RozePony was just what we needed. We shared some appetizers, my sister loves wedge salad and this was the best one she’s ever had. The Almond risotto and the trout were so delicious we didn’t have room for dessert. So we took some to-go. Highly recommended!“

“We have been twice. The first time the food was all very enjoyable. The second time we were seated in the bar area. The service left a lot to be desired. Our drinks were empty and he didn't come to the table except to bring our food. He was busy in the bar setting it up. The food wasn't nearly as good as the first time. I would say this restaurant is very hit or miss about both quality and service.

“We went to Stoney River for a graduation celebration for my daughter. Party of 8 in total. Kristie was our server and was wonderful. We ordered coctails, appetizers, entrees, and deserts. All were incredible. We always have a good experience when coming to this restaurant. Thank you.“

“I stopped here for breakfast while traveling for work. I ordered the sausage egg and cheese biscuit but I substituted for bacon instead. It came with tots. The food was delicious, the tots were not as hot as I would’ve liked but still delicious.“

“I ordered a pork chop, expecting a pork chop. What I got were three pork chops, stuck together in an all-together amazing plate. The smashed potatoes were buttery and flavorful, And the broccoli was good dipped in the appercot sauce for the pork chop. The carrot cake is probably mostly butter, but it tastes like heaven. “I went for my birthday dinner with my boyfriend and our server Donna i’m pretty sure was her name was an excellent server and the service was amazing! They messed up on my steak two times (which i get it, i work in a restaurant) but they made sure my dinner was the best afterwards! The manager Kay came over there and was super sweet and very professional. The best manager I have had in a restaurant to resolve an issue and she did it in a perfect manner. The steak ended up coming out perfect without me feeling any type of inconvenience for asking it to be remade, they brought me new plates and even a dessert to go! Amazing customer service. “Fancypants is nothing short of fancy. When you arrive you receive a free cocktail from the nicest host EVER. I think it’s usually champagne but for the holidays they’re serving up mulled wine.

My friend and I arrived early for our reservation and they found a way to seat us before it at the bar. We were content with waiting but the fact that they even thought about moving us show their level of efficiency and customer service. They sat us at the bar near the kitchen and had the best meal from that moment on.(side note: I love a bar stool with a back and foot rest - the comfiest seating!!)

Since we were so flexible with our reservation, the hostess brought over free champagne much to our surprise! Ok ok, let me get to the food…

Fancypants is a prix fixe menu where you can either pick 3 dishes for $70 a person or their steak dinner where you split a big boi piece of steak and 2 dishes each for $105. On Sundays they have the menu open for a la Carte so keep that in mind! My friend and I went with the original dinner (which includes no meat FYI!) and each got 3 different dishes so we could split 6! I don’t remember everything we got but my standouts are the spicy carrot rigatoni with chili oil on the side, Japanese sweet potatoes, and Napa cabbage.

We were served by bartender Samir and what a gem he was! For such a busy night he was engaging and even made my friend a custom cocktail. If you sit at the bar, ask for Samir! He’s wonderful.

For drink, I went with their old fashioned. I don’t think I’d order this again due to how far it starts from the original cocktail, but if you’re thinking of dipping your toes in the old fashioned world, this would be a great one to start with! I then had the “plaid pajamas”, an apple focused seasonal cocktail.

We wrapped up the evening with a slice of the birthday cake cheesecake and dare I say it’s the best cheesecake I’ve had in a looooooong while. If you’re thinking it’ll be too sweet, they somehow balance the funfetti and classic richness of a cheesecake. I’d go back for another slice alone… as a matter of fact, I might do that on a Sunday 🤔

While the price is steep, the service and food you receive make it worth every single penny. While other restaurants in Nashville focus on vibes and service is left by the wayside, Fancypants checks all the boxes for a unique dining experience with a friendly staff and delicious food.“

“Highly recommend! Great ambiance with an elevated eclectic atmosphere with a touch of femininity. Branson was our server and he did an incredible job - very knowledgeable about everything on the menu and overall kind and courteous. Our split steak came out a little under cooked for my husband (perfect for me though so we weren’t going to say anything!) but Branson immediately noticed and went out of his way to ensure everything was perfect. The brussel sprouts and tuna tartare were fantastic. We will be back soon - thank you!

“Traveled to Nashville from Missouri. Stayed at the Courtyard Downtown Nashville. We could not decided where to eat due to many choices. We decided to stay in the hotel and go to the first floor and just eat here at the hotel. We were treated as if we were royalty. The food is world class food. Nothing can compare. The atmosphere was that of a dream. Great music. They play the best music live making it an experience not to forget. If you need to feel like a famous person from Nashville, you have to go to Gannon’s in Nashville. Cole and Matt were very professional and we can not wait to go back!“
