The food is very rich and the consome complements it well. Parking is easy, despite being around businesses on St. Elmo. The location gives it a very famiky friendly vibe with the tennis courts nextdoor.

“El Naranjo is one of the best restaurants we have been in. We had the pork shank and the braised beef-they were prepared perfectly and paired with sides that were complementary to their distinct flavors. Spices local to the Oaxaca region of Mexico were blended in way that were flavorful without being overpowering. The wait staff was excellent, explaining each dish and answering questions. We highly recommend this restaurant. Yes, it’s pricier than other restaurants but is a fine dining experience that you won’t find in many other restaurants.“

“Creative menu, simple yet unique vibe at this Mexican style restaurant. Certainly isn’t the standard Mexican food as we had Shrimp & Crab Relleno, duck enchiladas, white Queso and a bowl of Guacamole. The drinks are good but not great for the price and size. \nThe white queso was very “busy” with pablano peppers and grilled onions, probably too much to be honest. The guacamole was fresh and a large portion. The shrimp & crab Relleno dish had an enchilada type sauce on the side any didn’t come with cheese. There was a corn bread pudding type side that was fair. \nThe duck enchiladas also didn’t come with cheese, but could be requested. \nThe building has a cool looking interior staircase leading to a roof bar. \nI gave this a 4 star but in reality a high 3 for good, but not the place that I’d frequent regularly or make a special trip too. It was fun, didn’t have any complaints but there are many options in the area and with quality bring important, we will try some others but stop back in if in the area and decide to try some other menu items.“

“This place is great, I have gone here for breakfast and lunch before and it has yet to disappoint. The food is tasty, well portioned, and if you get it to go they come in these plastic containers with a secure lid that are really nice. Their huevos rancheros is the best I've ever had and the mole tacos are solid too, but I would suggest that you ask for two corn tortillas as mine completely fell apart.“

“While visiting Austin, I had such a great experience thanks to the two bartenders working that night( Chloe and Berk) From the moment I walked up, they were friendly, attentive, and made the bar feel welcoming without ever being overbearing. They took the time to chat, give great drink recommendations, and make everything perfectly.

You can tell they genuinely enjoy what they do—great energy, smooth teamwork, and excellent service. They really added to my Austin experience and made the night memorable. If you’re visiting or even a local, you’re in great hands with these two behind the bar.

“Hey, this is always my go-to choice for tacos whenever I have to eat some in Austin and all. Their locations have really high quality food and very spicy salsas. The menu is pretty much remembered in my head by now. I really like the mole stuff and also anything with chicken and hard to spell words like fernando fernandino. You'll see once you go in order. They're all really good.“
