But if you're selling Mexican food, how do you have NO salsas, peppers, or hot sauces?? Yet the tables have soy sauce and a nutritional yeast shaker? Like who made this decision lmao.“

They took the time to chat, give great drink recommendations, and make everything perfectly.

“The best old school Tex Mex in town. Fajitas are so much better than Chuys or Maudie’s. Then there are killer items like shrimp ala mexicana with chipotle and classic lengua. Green enchiladas crush the ones from other places. Margaritas are super tasty and there’s no better staff at this family run place. It’s all very reasonably priced. Can’t recommend it enough.“

It hit all the right notes: superior location (scenic patio is off of a quiet pedestrian walkway in the Domain) , relaxing vibe inside and out; they have a unique, flavorful and awesome menu. We had the Low country fried rice - it was over the top! And, the crab cakes - full of crab with crispy slaw on the side. Last but most importantly was the service. Esmeralda was so welcoming with a beautiful smile. Immediately made us feel like we were in the perfect place and encouraged us to relax and enjoy the fantastic food. “This is by FAR the greatest CAVA I’ve ever visited. I’ve honestly had CAVA across the country, mostly in Boston and DC and I have never been wowed like this before.
Right off the bat I knew this was the spot to be. We walked in and the dining room was spotless. Not a single stray lettuce leaf on any tables. The music was at exactly the right volume, loud enough to be heard but not to interrupt conversation.
We approached the line and the team was incredibly nice. A couple bowls backed up, and another team member jumped in to make sure mine was started in a timely manner.
They gave us all individual attention, answered a couple questions and sent us on our merry way. The patio is a great little spot and our bowls were the absolute best.
Another thing I noticed and appreciated was the back kitchen. From the customer view it was clean and efficient. I love that they’ve implemented a separate space for online orders as it definitely takes away from some potential chaos.

It’s basically a little nook that has some traditional kosher foods like halva, and also has a small kitchen counter where you can order things like latkes. There are four tables where you can sit and eat. The latkes are great, four of them for only three dollars!“
