“?? Review: Decent BBQ and Burgers, But Not Worth a Detour ??I recently visited Charlie’s BBQ and Hamburgers for some BBQ and burgers, and while the experience had its highlights, it fell short in some areas.Let’s start with the BBQ: the chicken and ribs were decent, but nothing to write home about. They lacked that wow factor and left me craving something more flavorful. However, I must admit, the BBQ sauce was a standout - tangy, sweet, and just the right amount of smoky goodness. Now onto the burgers: While they were flavorful, there was something off about them. They didn’t quite taste like real meat, which was a bit weird and disappointing. However, if you’re open to non-traditional burger experiences, you might enjoy them.On the bright side, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Their warm hospitality definitely added to the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. In conclusion, if you happen to be in the area, it’s worth stopping by Charlie’s bbq and burgers for a bite. But I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again. There are better BBQ joints and burger spots out there.“
“Took food to go. The ribs were delicious. Also had the jalapeño sausage. Usually jalapeño sausage has cheese and this one did not and yet it was still super moist. I really liked the barbecues sauce because it wasn't sweet and was just flavorful. We did not try the sides but they were not that entertaining looking. They were super nice serving us too! Finally the pecan pie filling was delicious but the crust was a bit hard.“
“This was the first time visiting The Pit Room. As soon as you enter it smells so good! Everything tasted great! Although, if you are coming to try it out, be ready to stand in line about 10 to 15 minutes. It’s all worth it though. I ordered the 3 meat dinner: Brisket, Turkey, & Sausage. It comes with 2 sides of your choice and 1 slice of bread. You can ask for extra bread at the counter. The price for the dinner is $25 plus your drink, depending what you get. I definitely recommend this place. 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“
“My family group, 'The Hustlin' Honeys" traveled to Houston from Louisiana, and Kamp was the first thing on our to do list. We had the best time. Our server was very hospitable. The food, drinks, and ambience were excellent! Everyone has agreed that we will Definitely make Kamp one of our go-to spots on our future trips. Kamp Houston is definitely a YES in our book.“
“Great staff and good food. I wasn't too crazy about the Mac n cheese (a little dry), but the mustard potato salad was perfect. The simplicity of choices is there, the pricing is not. Personally, I would like to see a "2 meat, 3 meat plate... etc" option available. I didn't care for the "meat by the pound" but I do understand the business model behind it. However, overall, I would recommend you give this place a try if you're in the area. I do see how they are highly ranked in Houston.“
“My BBQ place. Usually order moist brisket-no sauce required, ribs, boudan and sausage. Excellent sides. The greens are so good and perfectly seasoned, I wish they would remove the bulky stems. Kale Caesar salad, baked beans and potato salad are some of my favorites. Bring your wallet not cheap. For 2 of us about 125.00. But we had lots of food and definitely took some home.“
“10/10 I highly recommend!!! Mr. Alfredo is a very honest and genuine man. He was up front and told us his food portions are big, never have I been to a place that was honest enough to tell us that. Other places want you to over order because they want the money, but not here, the food was beyond what we expected and them churros were amazing!!! We will definitely be back! Thank you Mr. Alfredo!“
“Speed in for lunch. I had the meatball sub with okra, and my wife had the turkey club with fries. Both were excellent! The okra was fried right, and the fries were seasoned perfectly. The meatballs were a little spicy, but had great flavor. Service was quick. The location was a bit tough to park in but was in a great spot. We also ordered a creme brulee, which I don't think was set enough. My wife ordered an oatmeal creme pie, which was really good. Would eat there again.“
“I went in for the first time this afternoon and ordered a chicken potato. Most BBQ places burn the potato and throw a bunch of toppings on to cover it up. This potato was soft and perfectly cooked. The chicken was diced and held the smoke. The toppings weren't overwhelming and complimented the potato and chicken. The staff was friendly and my associate and I had some good convo when they checked on us. Please support and check out Guillory's Bar B Que.“
“When I think of Persian, I think of Reza. Succulent and juicy lamb shank, cornucopia of tender grilled meats, pillowy flat breads, aromatic rice complemented by cranberries, and refreshing lemonade. Service is always amazing and a shout out to Kasra and team!“
“Had my first dining experience here this past weekend! I am such a big foodie and I love Korean barbecue, but KARNE Really took it to another level! Their drinks were amazing, Service was phenomenal.. We damn near didn’t have to feed ourselves ???We enjoyed every single meals that we ordered.. !The Restaurant is so pretty! The music is great really beautiful for a date night if you want to dress up?This is definitely our new favorite spot for our girls dining!“
“We absolutely loved this restaurant. They use charcoal grills and the sides are refillable. My favorite were the rice cakes. The fried dumplings were crunchy and delicious. We got the triple combo and it was a good amount of food for two people. We also tried the octopus stir fry and it was great. The price is fair for the amount of food you get. There are individual booths that provide a lot of privacy. The staff was friendly and inviting.“
“MadMax catered our luncheon event for our corporate event. We had over 290 attendees. He was organized. Very well prepared. He arrived early to set up and prep. Service was super friendly. He was accommodating to our needs. Portion size was amazing. The food was amazing. We had brisket, sausage and chicken. He had potato salad, macaroni with cheese and baked beans. Overall food was amazing. We loved it from the start to the end.“
“In addition to the incredible bbq, the breakfast tacos are the best in town. The green and red chorizo are made in house and super flavorful. Add potatoes and cheese and you won’t want other breakfast tacos. The flour tortillas are clearly house made, paper thin (nearly transparent), do not fall apart when filled to capacity, perfect.Kid-friendliness: There are toys for kids.“
“A great place for lunch and atmosphere for socializing with friends and colleagues. Our server/bartender Kiah was one of the most friendly and attentive we’ve had in a while! Cheers Kiah!Parking: Parking is small for bigger vehicles and can be a bit daunting during peak hours.“
“Excellent BBQ, love the taste but need more on Friday. Thanks for serving veterans, we appreciate everything you do for us. Hope you keep serving us in the future.Parking: Make sure you get the parking ticket validation while getting the food. It's free for two hours.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to get around in the food area but hard to get down to it.“
“This used to be our go to restaurant for birthdays and other occasions, however, we stopped going as much after the service and food seemed to be declining. My son wanted to go for his birthday and we were so happy we did. We had a wonderful lunch for my son's birthday, service was excellent as was the food.“
“Victor was very attentive. Not only was it my first visit but I was alone and he made both experiences enjoyable. There was another male waiter who was extremely helpful as well but I didn’t catch his name. 4 stars because I personally would have liked more veggie options but their buffet is loaded and everything was tasty!“
“The fat cap on the brisket was a little bit more than I prefer but the brisket itself was incredibly tender and flavorful. But the real shining star has always been the sausage. Whether it is the jalapeno cheddar or the hatch chili pepper jack cheese sausage, the sausages are beyond phenomenal. I seek this restaurant out every time I come to Houston“
“Cantonese BBQ Nirvana Found!Calling all San Francisco transplants ! My taste buds are doing a happy dance after discovering Siu Lap City, and let me tell you, it's a game-changer!This place is Cantonese BBQ heaven. The food is fresh, flavorful, and oh-so-satisfying, and the prices are incredibly reasonable. It's been a real struggle finding anything close to the quality and taste I remember from back home, but Siu Lap City absolutely delivers!I'm already planning my next visit – this little gem is definitely a regular hangout from now on! If you're searching for authentic and delicious Cantonese BBQ, look no further than Siu Lap City. You won't be disappointed!“
“Oh man I had a great time! I'm not a going out kind of person, so we took a chance and tried it out on karaoke night! Lol it was so much fun and the food was delicious! We had a few appetizers and wow were they tasty! The executive chef Gilbert was very friendly, came out to our table to see how we liked the food! The singers were fun great crowd! I was happy we came! Y'all should definitely come out and don't forget to eat while you're here and Lyft yourself home!“
“It's my 3rd time here. This time i went to celebrate my husband's birthday. I love that they use charcoal for you to cook the food. The many sides provided alone is already alot. One of the best Korean BBQ places in Houston and the price is not that bad either.“
“I had the pleasure of dining at Hongdae 33 Korean BBQ, an all-you-can-eat gem in the heart of Houston. The experience was nothing short of fantastic. From the get-go, the array of flavors and dishes on offer was impressive, providing an authentic taste of Korean cuisine. The quality of the meats was top-notch, with a wide variety to choose from, ensuring every bite was as delicious as the last. What stood out was the staff's dedication to service, ensuring our plates were never empty and our questions never unanswered. Hongdae 33 has mastered the balance between quantity and quality, making it a must-visit for any Korean BBQ aficionado or anyone looking to delve into the rich flavors of Korea. Highly recommended!“
“Definitely will be our new BBQ spot. Baked potato is HUGE! Soooo much meat was put in they did not skimp by any means. The price is super fair for what youre getting especially with how much the cost of meats and everything else has gone up. Support local and small business guys these gentleman 100% deserve it.“
“One of my fav spots. Food is delicious and they got a frozen Marg for 6.99.Cody the mgr and Yahaira the bartender took good care of me when I came in for a Togo order.I’m coming here to edit my review from above. The past few visits it seems the food quality has gone down. The chicken was way overcooked, dry, and chewy with entire pieces of hollow breading. The sweet potato waffle fries aren’t crispy anymore and are undercooked. Lots of the fries were still almost raw potato. It surprised me bc usually they’re on point; and the restaurant wasn’t busy. Also the margaritas didn’t hit our table until we were almost done with our meal. I hope they can improve and get back to the proper standard.“
“This restaurant is great! I love the sides they serve as well as the beef dishes. The Bulgogi and Galbi are delicious. One comment I do have is that the spice levels are not really that high so keep that in mind when ordering.Kid-friendliness: It’s a great restaurant to bring kids since the spice levels are very tolerable“
“Great place to watch sporting events or to just hang out. The food is next level, an excellent place to go visit again and again!!!!Vegetarian options: Just ask, and they will accommodate you.Dietary restrictions: Just let them know what you prefer or what your restrictions are, and they will make sure your order is prepared accordingly.Parking: On-site parking, free, and paid parking. Huge parking lot directly across the street from Cobos, and other parking spaces are available nearby as well.Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly atmosphere.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible.“
“The food here is freaking amazing. Unfortunately, the bbq stops at 4 pm on sunday, but if you can make it, the sunday special is the smoked barbacoa, and it's the best I have ever had! Hands down! The customer service here is absolutely wonderful. I have an odd guy, and they treat me like I'm not. It's great! This place feels high-end and is absolutely beautiful. I love itParking: It's a modern lot with as little concrete as there could be in a lot. There is security, and it is clean.“
“I don’t want to go bacon anyone’s heart but Honey Pig was just ok for me. I think this had more to do with me on this particular day than the restaurant.I’ll start with the ambiance. The ambiance is really cool and modern. I thought the place was decorated cleverly with the pig theme and the seating is laid out very spaciously. There is definitely a party type of vibe in here. The music is pumping and the screens are playing videos. It is definitely a place you want to go with a larger crowd. If you are looking to have an intimate moment over lunch or dinner, it won’t happen here. This is by design, as it is standard procedure for the waitstaff to assist you with the cooking. I don’t have an issue with that in theory but sometimes I just want to have a conversation with whoever I’m eating with. No problem with waitstaff checking in but they do it a lot here. Again, this is not a complaint on the restaurant as this is part of the experience. This is more of a PSA to anyone wanting a quiet intimate meal. You should come here when you’re in the mood to be boisterous or engage with the staff. The food was good. I enjoyed the ban chan. The one thing that I did not really feel was outstanding was the corn cheese. There was nothing wrong with it but it just tasted like corn with cheese melted on top of it. I was hoping for more of a flavor to it. All of the meat tasted great. It’s hard to go wrong with meat coming fresh off the grill onto your plate. I ordered the spicy beef tofu soup and it was good but not outstanding. The big steamed egg was also very good. The standout for me was the Korean kimchi pancake. I devoured that. One thing that I noticed was that the service is very fast. The food was coming out faster than I could eat and the table was brimming with food. This isn’t a knock on the restaurant but something to keep in mind if coming alone or in a smaller group. The food will come out very fast.In the end, I may have to come back with a larger group and appetite to truly appreciate the experience that Honey Pig has to offer. I would recommend this place if you are feeling festive and very hungry!“
“As someone who does not frequent BBQ places I appreciate that Feges has a soup option. on today’s visit I was especially impressed with Brooke. She had knowledge of the menu items, had tried most of the items I asked about, has recommendations of her favorite items and was overall very helpful. While we were dining, she as well as other members of the staff, made sure we had everything we needed. They offered to refill our drinks, to-go boxes, sauces, etc. The baked potato was delicious.“
“Two words quality service stuffed to the brim.food service and the atmosphere was all great the employees were very nice and kind. the wait time was very short for such a big place and overall great even got a little desert drink we will be coming back and also little robot working hard in the background was nice great restaurant“
“I have always enjoyed going to this restaurant, and they were so nice last weekend. I stopped in and I'm a new vegetarian and really wanted some black bean noodles / jajjangmyeon, and that was happy to find there are several hot and cold vegetarian options, including cucumber kimchi! The food was very delicious and the staff was very helpful ~“
“Great flavor but the quantity is a bit small and the price is too high. Normally this plate runs at $12 with more slices on it. Very good flavor, very original but the quantity is very little for the price. Normally a dish like this costs $12 and contains more slices.“
“As a thank you to our employees for working so hard during the holidays, we set up a BBQ lunch - at two different locations. Daniel at HCGSBC is THE BEST. He hooked us up better than I could have asked for. EVERYONE was raving about the food - but especially the brisket. We will definitely be return customers. Daniel, thank you for making these two lunches absolutely fantastic.“
“This place is family owned and operated. The lady at the register is nice and friendly. This is my go to place for lunch since it’s located in the 1st floor of the building I work at. I typically order their 1) hamburger with fries, 2) 6 hot & sour wings with either fries or rice, 3) kung pow chicken, and 4) Vietnamese pork sandwich with fries. Give this place a try!!I had a special request to add the ketchup on the fries just to save another container.“
“Best fried chicken in texas! I have been coming here for around,,,,,, never mind! Long enough to know this is the real deal! This is a throw back to times long ago! The waitress always call you Honey, Sweetie or other indearing terms that society deems questionable these days! Voted best fried chicken in Texas by several publications! This is Southern Fried Chicken! No tricks, no hot spices, just good ol fried chicken! The ribs are great and fall off the bone, the shrimp and oysters are local and fresh from the Gulf, the chicken fried steak and fried chicken breast are just plan comfort food! The neighborhood that it is in is a little sketchy for some. This should not deter you from this diamond in the rough! They have parking lot security and I have been going there for over 50 years without incident. Like I said this is the Real Deal! And don't forget to save room for pie, Sweetie!“
“First time at the place and I really enjoyed everything I had the Turkey Sandwich turkey was juicy and the Mac n cheese is Good will definitely be back thanks for the great customer service and explaining the menu Erick and crew.oh and the banana pudding thumbs up.“
“Excellent food! And even better customer service! Walked over to Little Woodrows after a Savnnah Banana game and came across this food truck. Was with a friend who couldn't have meat and they gave us a side of Kimchi and Meat ( for me) with our fries. Very good food! Definitely recommend.“
“One of the better AYCE KBBQ spots in Houston. The dinning area is very large so we've never had trouble seating and we’ve never felt rushed like some other places. They have a button you can push and a waitress will quickly come to take your order for more meat. While there are a lot of options you can self-serve like the bulgogi and spicy pork, the better options are ordered. The beef tongue is my favorite. Beef belly, pork belly, pork cheeks, galbi and beef brisket are all good too. One lesser known option is the pineapple galbi, it's a relatively large cut of meat and the pineapple is great grilled. We like to order the pineapple separately as first dessert before the ice cream.Parking: Large lot in the shopping center. There's always enough parking.Kid-friendliness: Kids 5-10 are $17.99, which isn't bad if they are closer to 10 and eat enough.“
“I was in the area and had a taste for bbq so I found this place online and made an order. I got a 2 meat plate with ribs and brisket. For the sides I got potato salad and baked beans and my drink was a pineapple tea...I've never had pineapple tea but it was great and so was the food so I'll definitely be back.“
“I came across this stand at the freedom over Texas festival. The line was ridiculously long (in a good way) but baby let me tell you I got the brisket baked potato with jalapenos and it was AMAZING.... definitely worth the wait for sure!! The next time I visit Houston I'm definitely coming back!!!“
“Chill fun easygoing dive bar w/ great people and service! They don’t normally sell food, but they tend to have food trucks or Thursdays they have steak night (Amexicun)! That support the local community and have some fun gumbo and chili cook offs!“
“Been here a handful of time but I can confidently say that if you are looking for affordable, but still delicious, AYCE KBBQ, then Garosu is the spot in Bellaire. Solid choice for a day date, at night can get a little frustrating with understaffing. They had an amazing lunch special and the service was amazing. One thing that I was surprised to see they offered a lot of banchan which I actually like to see. If you have a bigger party and a reservation, they have these room in the back for you which I really enjoyed the rooms modest decor. Otherwise the main dining hall is very spacious, and dimmed. One thing that I did find a little uncomfortable was the tables. I am a taller person at 6' 2", so I am sort of used to it but their leg room is very limited, because of the grill, and got uncomfortable pretty quickly, but sitting alone obviously has all the space for yourself.“
“I was part of a group of 4 yesterday celebrating my grandmother's 76th birthday. The atmosphere was sleek but cozy and the service was incredible. We never had to wait long with multiple people attending our needs. Our main server was the best I've ever had (I wish I had caught her name). The food had stunning presentations and tasted as good as it looked. I recommend the seasoned wings.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options listed in fine print on the menu. Each dish is customizable.“
“I called to check if Dave was serving food because he is a roadside, weekend vendor who barbecues in a parking lot. He was on his way to buy more meat to cook, so I put in a request for beef ribs and chicken. Later, Dave called me to give me a heads up when the food was going to be ready. When I arrived, Dave greeted me with a welcoming smile and let me know that the food was almost ready. He wanted to cook it a little longer to make sure the ribs were tender.I chatted with other people hanging out with Dave, and it was quite friendly, like I was at a friend's backyard cook out. Anyway, the price for all the food I got was very reasonable. When I got home, I was pleased to find that the chicken and ribs had a good, smoky flavor. I plan to be trying Dave's brisket next weekend.“
“I was craving Korean food and I didn't want to drive all the way to the other side so I decided to give this place a try. I live close by and I always drive by this spot soooo.I actually am not a big fan of Korean bbq dining bc your entire body will smell like bbq after dining in.Walking in, I thought it was interesting bc it was totally a american brunch spot vibes not a kbbq vibe. They have areas specifically for bbq, and then the bar, the dining room and the outside patio.I personally really liked this layout. Their menu has a lot to choose from, mix of Korean food, Japanese and other American plates.I got the bulgogi rice cakes (spicy) and it was so good! It wasn't spicy spicy but it still have some spice to it. You can always go with mild. The flavor and portions were great. The egg on top really helped bc it was quite strongly seasoned. I ended up ordering a bowl of rice to eat with the leftover bulgogi. It was delicious.Overall I can see myself coming to this place again. Customer service was good and everyone was welcoming. They have separate parking lot which is great. Cool murals.“
“Absolutely DELICIOUS barbecue! You can tell that this place is a source of pride for the owner, and it is absolutely justified. Everything has excellent flavor and is cooked to perfection. I always base my decision on a barbecue place by how well the lean brisket can stand alone, and the flavor is exceptional. I absolutely will be back for more! There are two accessible parking spaces, and the dining area and restrooms are wheelchair accessible.Wheelchair accessibility: There are two accessible parking spaces, and the dining area and restrooms are wheelchair accessible.“
“This is one of the best Honduran restaurants that I visited in Houston, Texas. I feel really comfortable and I remember my country when I was over there because there are many things from my country. My favorite plate from Asados el Catracho is Pollo con tajadas.“
“I am a global event planner who had a last minute group of 20 in need of lunch. I take my groups to 5-star restaurants that never have given me as great service and food!!! I called and was connected to the owner Adrian who without hesitation jumped in, without even asking for a deposit - on total faith reserved his busy Thursday lunch for my group, did a pre-order, reserved a long table, and served us quickly and got my group on the road and back to their meetings. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING!!! Catfish - who knew, a group fav! **Please give your business to this family owned and operated restaurant - I can't tell you how wonderful they are!“
“Oh My Gosh??,my B.F/coworkertook me to No lo Bros. for lunch today10/4/2019, i had the chopped beef samich & it was so FREAKIN yummy??, we also had the mac-n-cheese & the WOW beef fried rice!??, this rice was so awesome that i totally can see myself pulling in to get ONLY this from time to time?Well my co-worker took me again, we had chopped beef sandwich, Sliced beef sandwich, slicced sausage, fried okra & the corn ? & EVERYTHING was Magni2/28/2024“
