“First visit with a group of 20+. The staff was friendly, attentive and aimed to please. Food was very good. Any issue anyone had was addressed and rectified with a small. We had a great time and looking for to attending a Sunday afternoon Gospel Show sometimes this Fall.“

“I eat at pecan lodge about once a month. The collard greens are exceptional , we always get extra to eat at home. I get the brisket and my wife gets pork ribs. I haven’t had one bad dish from this place. Whenever family visit we come here. Ricky always put out great food“

“Welcome home. If I could title my review, that would be it. From the moment I stepped through the door, the (cute!) young man behind the counter made me feel like he had been waiting for me all day. I have anxiety, but it melted away with his charm. The mac and cheese wasn’t ready when I got there, so I was given two choices: they’d replace it with any side, or I could wait and they would make it fresh. Who doesn’t like fresh food? I was entertained while I waited, and the time flew by. Food was hot and fresh. Service was above and beyond. It was my first time in Grand Prairie, but I hope to be back ASAP — only partially for the eye candy!“

“This is a old-school BBQ joint on Leonard Street in downtown. They have a fair sized indoor seating and some outside tables as well. You can do take-away as well. Opening hours are 11am to 3pm (lunch only), closed on Sundays. Had a very good lunch here recently. The chopped beef sandwich was delicious, sides of okra, potato casserole and beans were great. Ended up taking home a large order of brisket, sausage and more sides for a larger group of friends for the evening. Everyone loved the meal. Two Sammy's meals in one day and was left wanting more. Would gladly return based on this experience.“

“Exceptional, authentic Texas BBQ — the real deal! The brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender with that perfect smoky bark, and the ribs slid right off the bone. Every bite was loaded with that slow-smoked flavor only true pitmasters can achieve. The sides were just as good — creamy mac and cheese, tangy slaw, and classic baked beans. “Before this visit, I had not been to Baker's Ribs since 1998 when I moved out of state. Back for a visit, I was craving their brisket and potato salad. They did not disappoint! It tasted just as delicious as I remembered. Best brisket ever and that potato salad with dill can't be beat! I was shocked to see that they still provide the free soft serve. Can you open a Tennessee location?

Update: We had to eat here a second time before leaving town, and got the ribs (and more potato salad). There's no need for sauce, as the ribs had wonderful flavor and were super tender!“

“You know, sometimes we overlook the basics and get so oriented toward what’s great in Bishop Arts and forget about the places outside downtown that keep this city rolling. My riding partner and I stopped in for breakfast here because we forgot cash for Fuel City. I asked if they take Apple Pay and if we can bring our bikes in. Affirmative on both, sweet. They love football and the cowboys here. It shows. The spot has nothing but stories to tell. It’s welcoming and the breakfast tacos, omelette and biscuits and gravy were fantastic. The grill spits fire. This place is worth a stop and it’s definitely a place to get your food fix. Happy to add to my breakfast rotation“
