“Welcome home. If I could title my review, that would be it. From the moment I stepped through the door, the (cute!) young man behind the counter made me feel like he had been waiting for me all day. I have anxiety, but it melted away with his charm. The mac and cheese wasn’t ready when I got there, so I was given two choices: they’d replace it with any side, or I could wait and they would make it fresh. Who doesn’t like fresh food? I was entertained while I waited, and the time flew by. Food was hot and fresh. Service was above and beyond. It was my first time in Grand Prairie, but I hope to be back ASAP — only partially for the eye candy!“

“Employee Brandy Wright met us at the entry and explained how to get the most out of the experience. Then she followed up several times to make sure we were well taken care of. It was a pleasure to get to know Brandy and to enjoy incredible barbecue at Hurtado. Every employee made us feel at home, including Armando who offered excellent service several times as well. I’m going back next weekend! And I will ask for Brandy and Armando.“

“I finally was able to try Pecan Lodge. Not only was the BBQ delicious, Their smoked wings were amazing. I liked them the best without any sauce so I could enjoy the real smoke flavor of the meat. And as a bonus, Mike, the Manager and his staff, were friendly and helpful. 4 STARS TO ALL!“

“Today I had the pleasure of eating Harris Bar-B-Q for the first time, and my family and I loved it. But I have to just brag on Miss Gloria for being so welcoming and kindhearted. “This is a old-school BBQ joint on Leonard Street in downtown. They have a fair sized indoor seating and some outside tables as well. You can do take-away as well. Opening hours are 11am to 3pm (lunch only), closed on Sundays. Had a very good lunch here recently. The chopped beef sandwich was delicious, sides of okra, potato casserole and beans were great. Ended up taking home a large order of brisket, sausage and more sides for a larger group of friends for the evening. Everyone loved the meal. Two Sammy's meals in one day and was left wanting more. Would gladly return based on this experience.“

“Service was amazing. Food was good as well, price doesn’t match portions; maybe think about adding a little more meat to the portions for the prices they’re charging unless I was skimped on my meat... Brisket was tender and sausage was cooked very well. The bbq beans could use a little more time in the cooker and some sugar to help soften them and mashed potatoes do need some garlic powder to help balance the flavor. Otherwise the food was great will be visiting again in near future.“

“I recommend don't go. I got a 3 meat plate ribs slice beef and sausage. the beef was very fatty un eatable. the ribs was supposed to be fall off the bone. No they were not. the greens was too spicy 🔥. the only thing on my plate that was worth eating was the beans and bread. spent $23.82 to feed my dog I will never go back. This was today 3/5/2025 I wish I could show you the pictures“

“Fantastic little mom and pop shop. Serving size was great, prices were amazing and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Bbq ribs were good. The potato salad had a good mustard bute which I really enjoyed and the fried okra actually tasted like okra! Coworker had a sewet tea and sait it was really good too. Will definitely be my go to place next time I'm back in Dallas!!!!!

“Sabrina, rocked it! I placed a delivery order from here. I called before placing order to see if they had plastic containers or paper/cardboard; being a Flight Attendant, my eyes seemed to be hungrier then my stomach therefore I have leftovers to travel with. I explained this to her. She asked my name & said she'd look for Mt order. She went above & wrapped and included foil for my leftovers. The portions are nicely sized & price was good with a deal. My order arrived sooner than expected, bonus. Thank you for the great customer service.“

“Restaurant looks clean and great atmosphere. I went to Dickey’s for the first time ever so I don’t have any reference to compare. All I know the chicken sandwich and brisket and all was really good. They gave plenty of barbecue sauce without me even asking. I would recommend and plan to return.“

“If you are going for the ambience; this ain't the place for you. However, the food more than makes up for it. We ordered a shrimp po boy basket and a catfish basket. Both were absolutely delicious! They were hot, fresh and seasoned just right. We will definitely be back!“
