“Panther City BBQ continues to be one of the most criminally overlooked spots in the Texas BBQ scene. Everything we had was phenomenal. The brisket was perfectly smoked with a beautiful bark and melt-in-your-mouth texture, the pork belly burnt ends were ridiculous, and the jalapeño mac & cheese and street corn were just as memorable as the meat. The Tex-Mex twist they bring to barbecue is awesome too; the brisket tacos and quesabirria style tacos were unreal. Fort Worth folks already know, but if you’re anywhere in DFW and haven’t made the trip yet, you’re seriously missing out. Panther City deserves way more recognition than it gets.“

I have had the opportunity to see his operation from the fire pits in the back, kitchen, and have always been highly impressed with the cleanliness of his facility. “I wanted to comment on what good portion sizes they have here. I've eaten here several times and have thoroughly enjoyed my food I also think they have a very good work ethic because the owner answers the phone on occasion.“

“1st time here, made the 2 hour drive because we had heard so much good stuff about it.
My wife and myself chose to have the sliced brisket with sides for me of corn on the cob and green beans, my wife had the smoked mac-n- cheese along with green beans. The sides were good and loved the Mac n cheese. Now for the good stuff- the sliced brisket. From the first bite on, our taste buds were in for a delightful treat. The brisket was smoked to perfection. The taste, the texture, you could feel flavor melt in your mouth.
You do get a knife but we didnt need it as the brisket was so tender you only needed a fork. Didn't even need the BBQ sauce because the flavor was there. Add the BBQ sauce- oh my Lord, it paired perfectly with the brisket so full of a sweet flavor with a hint of a spice kick.
It is easy to see why this place is so popular and why we both were recommend personally by people and why it has gained national attention.
The staff was awesome and along with the food, made our trip from Oklahoma well worth it. It lived up to all our expectations and beyond. Hands down the best we have tasted from any restaurant style facility.

“When the smell hit me as I opened the door I knew I had made a good decision to try this place. I had ribs, sliced brisket and jerk chicken. They also let me sample a bite of sausage. The ribs were excellent; they pulled clean from the bone without being overcooked. The brisket was juicy with a really nice texture. The chicken was excellent and I was happy to see chicken on the bone on the menu, not every bbq does that. The sausage was clearly made from scratch and very delicious. “Some of the best BBQ in Ft. Worth. Not a really big place but they've been around for years. There aren't many people you can talk to in Ft. Worth who don't know about Lloyd's cafe. It's almost a historical movie to the local residents. Laid back atmosphere and they boast "the coldest beer in Ft. Worth." The ribs(meat falling off the bone and so flavorful) and bolo are my personal favorites! And the weekend is probably the best time to visit.“

“This Rudy's location is consistently good. I like their smoked potatoes loaded with turkey or pork loin. Pulled pork sandwiches are good as well. Rudy's does not have a fryer, so no fries or fried okra, but lots of other sides to choose from. I bought a bottle of their Sissy Sause to take home.“
