“Bar Bludorn is absolutely amazing.

I first met Faith, the Assistant General Manager, at Anvil (my regular spot). We exchanged business cards, and I promised her I’d stop by to check out Bar Bludorn. I kept my word and came by around 8 PM.

Unfortunately, she had just left, but one of the managers kindly let me know she had stepped out shortly before I arrived.

That said wow. The place completely exceeded expectations. The vibe is fantastic, the service is top-notch, and the bartender is beyond amazing. Super cool attitude, incredibly welcoming, and clearly knows how to make outstanding drinks. Every cocktail was on point.
The food? No notes 🔥 Absolutely excellent.

I texted Faith right after to let her know how great the experience was. This is definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to, and I’ll be recommending it to my friends, family, and customers without hesitation.

“Okay I have to laugh because this one got me 😂 We ordered martinis and asked for blue cheese olives, pretty standard garnish request, right? Well apparently these olives came with a VIP wristband because we were charged $1 per olive. Yes. Per. Olive. 🫒 Not gonna lie, I’ve eaten at a lot of places and this is the first time a garnish showed up on the bill like it was the main course. Had we known it was an upcharge, totally fine, just tell us! It’s not about the few bucks, it’s about the surprise plot twist at the bottom of the receipt. “I am a new regular visitor of Houston since my boyfriend moved here a few weeks ago and decided to order a random veggie sandwich and soup… the veggie Sammie and posole from local foods is probably the best veggie sandwich I have ever had!!! The posole was A+++++ and I am from El Paso Texas, where grew up on posole and have some of the best Mexican food you’ll ever eat. The sandwich was so flavorful and fresh, I added tofu and vegan aioli and could not believe how delicious this was! The posole was top knotch! Clean, tasty and the perfectly seasoned. There is a sitting area outside, and at one point someone propped the door open and the tunes of jazz floated out to us. If you're wanting food or drink you must order at the bar. The pizza was AMAZZZIIING and my Shirley Temple was On point! There was a very mixed crowd on Jazz night. They also have oversized playing cards available for use . I plan to be back !!“

“We visited Sonoma Wine Bar on a Saturday afternoon with a party of 12 adults. I had reached out to this location via their website to inquire about the ability to reserve a table for a larger party and they were extremely easy to work with. They called me and discussed some options to ensure our birthday gathering was exactly as we envisioned. We ultimately had a table on their back patio and all guests were able to order wine glasses, bottles, or flights as desired. Our server Seth was knowledgeable of the menu and friendly. All wines were great and we had a wonderful gathering. Highly recommend this place for mid-size gatherings and cannot gush enough about how easy they were to work with when other wine bars around Houston tend to want to limit party sizes.“

“It is certainly not a large posh place but somewhere you may feel comfortable however you dress and whether or not you know anyone. The owner and bar keeper are like family and served bbq shrimp on the counter for customers. I attended a memorial for an actor and it was just right. If it bothers you that the ceiling was leaking into a bucket this may not be your place but, for me and the others, no body seemed to notice.“

“We came for Sunday brunch. We got four apps for four people and shared them. The servings were huge! The food was all good. The buffalo cauliflower was delicious, and Brussel sprouts were really good as well! The queso was a light on meat to the point that I can't remember if it had bacon or chorizo. And the guac wasn't bad but not amazing. Good all around.“

If you're into the H-town craft beer scene and dig IPAs (like basically every beer bro on the planet) then you've likely heard of Spindle Tap brewery and know Houston Haze (if not, check it out, HEB has it in cans in the Houston area). Man this stuff is dank on draft, it's so Hazy that you can watch it swim around in the glass like the nitrogen settling in a Guinness. I discovered it about 20 min before boarding and had a couple big ones. Pounded, not regretted!! Keep that stuff on tap and I'll stop by everytime in terminal D. Get some!“

The drinks are of the highest level, and the service is seriously top-tier. Massive shoutout to Mabel, Corey, and Manny the man🧍‍♂️ and the whole team. They’re all super professional, but still keep things relaxed and fun. You feel welcomed, taken care of, and honestly, like part of the place.

There’s this younger, fresh energy that makes you want to stay all night. Whether you're out with friends or just stopping by, Anvil always hits. Keep it up, guys-you're doing something special. Can’t wait to come back.

“Visited Lucio’s for the first time. The BYOB is a major plus only for $10 cork fee. They do have their own wine selection (pricey). The food was great. I would not say the food was amazing but it was great. Presentation of the plates is good, but nothing I would describe as amazing or spectacular. The food is a bit overprices in my opinion. You are looking at an average $45-55 an entree, with some in the $60+. Service was top notch, very attentive staff. The ambience of the restaurant is ok, I think the tables were a bit simple and not elegant IMO. There are 2 seating areas, we sat by the entrance in from of the kitchen. At first I thought how cool but I must admit that there was quite a bit of “smoke” in terms of what was being cooked such as fish etc that you could easily smell from the table and I particularly did not like that. I would definitely come back.“

“We rolled into Seasons 52 City Centre at 9:00pm, not realizing that they were closing at 9:10pm! The host graciously assured us that they would honor the reservation and we were grateful because frankly, we were starving. Our server Marcus was amazing. We opted for an Espresso Martini and a Lemon Drop martini, which were shaken and poured tableside. Dee-lish! My companion ordered the Tuscan White Bean Soup and the Artichoke Flatbread (which we ended up sharing since it was so generously sized). I ordered the Mediterranean Salad with a wood-grilled chicken breast. Holy-moley everything was well prepared, delicious, and served with a smile! Thank you Seasons 52 for accommodating a couple of hungry ladies at 9:00pm on a Thursday night!“

“We went last night for my husband’s birthday. While the food was outstanding per usual, the service was deplorable. We waited 40 minutes before our order was taken and just sat with waters. Bread came after appetizers. Kids were completely done with their meals before adults received ours. Difficult experience with two small children. When we first got there, only three other tables had people at them so it wasn’t busy. Definitely expected better service.“
