“Amazing customer service! This was our first time here, the team helped us become familiar with the menu, & sample some of their meats with no bones. The food, however, we’d rate a 3. The brisket & ribs were pretty dry. The jalapeño sausages were GREAT. They’re what pulled the food rating from a 1. The prime rib was a good texture (as it’s only cooked Medium Rare) & flavor. There aren’t many options for BBQ sauce either. Wouldn’t return, but it was a good one time lunch experience. We might try again for their breakfast.“

The coleslaw is a bit too sweet for my taste, but my son loves it, which means he's eating veggies so I'm happy.“

“I had planned on eating at Franklin's at first before heading home back to DFW from Austin. But found out they were closed on Mondays. Then went by Terry Black's but line was too long. Also, remembered that I wasn't that impressed with Dallas location. I looked up other bbq places. Saw that Bird Dog Pit was close by. So glad I went there. The service was awesome. The food was absolutely AMAZING!!! I had 2 meat plate (moist sliced brisket & turkey & double hatch mac'n'cheese). Both were moist as hell & perfect amount of smoke and seasoning. That was the best mac'n'cheese I've ever had from a bbq place. I'm eating there every time I drive through Austin. This place most definitely gives places like Franklin's & Terry Black's a run for their money. They would even give places like Hard Eight & Goldee's & Hutchins & Original Roy Hutchins here in DFW a run for their money. Keep it up...“

“I needed to find cater for a funeral luncheon in Austin. My fellow Farwest PostNet recommended their catering services. From out of town, I worked with them via email and phone to organize this luncheon. The food was great- the brisket, sausage and the chicken. All the guests enjoyed the food and desserts. Leftovers were packed professionally which my family all ate later. Going through all the stress of the funeral and coming from out of town, Monica and Lindsey made everything go smoothly. “I think our waitress was overwhelmed or forgot we had ordered food. But, we were finishing up a game of pool and planned to leave. So we requested to cancel the food order as it had already been almost 20 mins (if not more. Idk how long before we actually ordered) The manager looked at the time from when the server put in the order and decided not to allow us to cancel because the food was done and it had only been 19 mins and that's normal. We were visiting from out of town. So it's not like we will be repeat customers. But, I would say the way it was handled felt unprofessional. The food was old and had sat in the window for a while. We were not there to argue. So we went about the rest of our game and left.

I would just venture to say that it could have been handled better. Instead my friends felt it was met with attitude. The only time we saw our server was when she took the order for the 1 drink and food. No refills or anything after that until she was approached to cancel. Again it was busy in there. I have been a server at many different establishments. I get it.. The manager should have stepped in to talk to us instead of sending the waitress to say her manager is not taking it off because 19mins isn't a long time. So again not a bad place. Didn't wait long for a table or anything. We enjoyed the environment.“

The ayam bakar (grilled chicken) meal was perfectly cooked and tasted so authentic. Crispy skin, moist chicken, rice and lalapan (lalapan is like a salad - it’s fresh lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, y’all get the idea) The yellow rice (nasi kuning) had that unique coconut fragrance that immediately brought back memories. The homemade sambal (hot sauce) was straight up delicious and if you like spicy, this is for you. It’s pretty spicy, but doesn’t set ya on fire ya know? Highly recommend this spot! Good Indonesian food is hard to find, period. Sate Texas BBQ brings those Indonesian flavors to Texas in a big way! We can’t wait to go back, Selamat Makan!! (Enjoy the food, y’all)!“

“I have a weird affinity for hotel breakfast. The buffet here is a decent spread of super fresh fruits and berries, oatmeal and toppings, yogurts, scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon. Items are refreshed frequently. There is also a breakfast menu with plates and a la carte items as well. Wait staff were attentive without being obtrusive. We did have a small lurch -- ordered a la carte turkey sausage, but it wasn't available (at 9am). Small matter -- we asked if we could have a plate of the pork sausage from the buffet for the a la carte price (the recipient hadn't ordered the buffet). The coffee was hot and plentiful, with the carafe left at the table as the good Lord intended. If you order juice, they leave the decanter at the table as well. Quiet, pleasant ambience allows a good conversation without having to shout or strain to hear and a humane start to the day.“

“The bartenders are always on point with service, they are funny & very welcoming. They have a good variety of drinks and I just found out they have chilled coffee! I love to go there and play their Firelink games, so much fun! I had an issue with the money machine one time and the owner was just so super sweet and checked it out for me. The place is always clean and smells great! The atmosphere is unbelievably fun with a great variety of music being played on their digital jukebox. There is no food served there anymore, so I cannot leave review on that. Everything else is fantastic!“

“First time I have been there in about 30 years, used to go weekly because it was a solid meal for a good price. Service is not as good anymore, you have to order at the counter and then wait at a table for your name to be called. It used to be a fast cafeteria. Some of the tables had crumbs on them, but they had the Help Wanted sign displayed, so I think they are trying to address the problem. One worker said they only pay $15/hour to start, that is probably part of the problem. Brisket was good, but as always the portion was small. Nice condiment bar that I enjoyed. Menu has expanded since I was last there, maybe the service is slow because there are too many menu items to deal with? I noticed they are serving holiday takeout meals again this year, which I have done in the past with success. It is a unique Texas place that is a step above fast food, but less than a full service restaurant if you want to save money and have a few extra minutes.“

“I'll give this 5 stars because the food is amazing - if you order the right combo! Their magic sauce is delicious. The k pop chicken ( I think that's the name) is very good! This is my new fav place. The service is just order at the counter - nothing special there. The atmosphere is just okay. It's pretty small inside and can get pretty busy. The price is spendy but it's sooo good! I don't like their drinks- tastes watered down so I don't recommend those.

Parking: During lunch it can be hard to find a spot to park it's also hard to back out of those spots!“
