“I've gotten lunch here a few times and it's delicious every time! Great flavorful broth, lots of add-ins for the pho, and ordering has always been quick and easy. Perfect for when you're feeling a little cold or under the weather :) The service has always been great too, although I have only picked up food from here.“

“I had the grilled chicken with rice and veggies 🥗 wow so delicious 😋 any fresh! I will go back for some more soon! I also had the BBQ 🍖 pork sandwich with spring rolls for lunch another day and was also delicious. I’m sure everything else is also delicious and fresh. Go check them out and find out for yourself self. You will not be disappointed…“

“While stopping for gas, I noticed this restaurant and decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. I ordered the orange chicken, and both the flavor and portion size exceeded expectations. Although the dish is traditionally spicy, it seemed to cater to a milder American palate—but a touch of sriracha easily elevated the heat. The meal was delicious, and the lunch pricing was quite reasonable. I will definitely be returning soon.“

“South x Saigon did not miss! 🙌 The lemon honey pepper wings with fries were sooo tasty, the egg rolls were perfectly crispy, and the Bò Lúc Lắc was melt-in-your-mouth tender. Oh, and the gumbo? 🔥 Absolutely delicious. Highly recommend if you’re craving flavor!

“The food was very tasty, the restaurant was very clean, the service was fast and excellent. I would definitely recommend this place for Vietnamese food.
Vegetarian options: The vegetarian pho had a variety of vegetables like bok choy, carrots, onions, mushrooms, broccoli all freshly cut (not the frozen kind), and fried tofu.“

“This restaurant is off the chain. I’ve had pho at a lot of other places but the pho here is the absolute best Ive ever had. The broth is phenomenal. The staff there are extremely friendly and the service is top notch! You HAVE to try this place out, you’ll thank me later! 😄🤙🏼“

“So I’ve been all over the US of A hunting for the best Vietnamese Crepe or Pancake (Bánh Xèo). If you read my other reviews then you knew a restaurant in Austin (Sunflower) won that elusive “best” title.
But move over, Sunflower, because now you have been dethroned. The King of all and every Vietnamese Crepes that’ve ever existed, is none other from the ones from Hoang Gia Quan in southwest Houston that is located not quite in the heart of Asian town, but not far from it either.
A total nondescript kind of restaurant sandwiched between 2 other larger nondescript establishments (if you blink you may miss it), Hoang Gia Quan fights, and wins, for its supreme, king-of-all Crepes with grace, deliciousness, uniqueness, crunchiness, premium-ness, and value.
Folks, the almost summa-cum-laude 4.8 star rating of this restaurant on Google Map, as of the time of this review, is real. Stepping inside this restaurant, you will be greeted by the most graceful restaurant owner ever lived. But that’s beside the point, as we are talking about the quality of the food, in particular about the crepe here….So here it goes: a sumptuous crepe dish that is crunchy but not hard, not as crunchy soft as Sunflower’s, but just right. Inside, chunky bits of seafood abound: plumb whole shrimp, juicy scallops, and twisty squid chunks. Each seafood piece is perfectly stir-fried alongside the crepe’s crust, permeating your taste buds with each of their distinct seafood aroma. And this premium seafood “topping” appears to be standard as we are not aware of any other options. That works perfectly fine for us.
And the greens that come with each crepe are as equally sumptuous: lots of it, and unique. You will get green-leaf lettuce, varieties of different herbs, cheery carrot noodles, and a green leaf wrap that we have not experienced anywhere else: “Lá Cải Xanh.” We don’t know the English translation for this green but it perfectly serves as a wrapper to roll the crepe neatly in, ready to be dipped into fish sauce. Lá Cải Xanh is not easy to break as lettuce, as if the leaf has a built-in anti-breakage additive, and has a distinct slightly spicy taste that adds a “kick” to one’s gastronomic experience.
So read this and look at our pictures and decide for yourselves. We travel near and far, almost to all 50 states of the country, and 3 continents. We sample pad thai, tom kha, pho and Vietnamese crepes wherever we go, always try to seek out the best of the best. And to our experienced taste buds, a new King of the Vietnamese Crepes has been born.
And did we mention the restaurant’s owner as the most gracious restauranteur ever lived? She will greet you, bring you shrimp crackers, ask you if everything is alright, and bring you Chè Khoai Môn, a sweet taro root treat, to finish your meal. The restaurant is clean whenever we are there, each tabletop is neatly wrapped in tidy white paper cover, like a present that can’t wait to get unwrapped. And you bet every time we visit Hoang Gia Quan we always have that exciting feel of unwrapping a present of culinary excellency. Indeed.“

“Came for late lunch. The service was average but I gave an extra star only because I think the owner (not our server) came to us several times to ask if we needed anything. We ordered regular eggrolls but they ran out and the (owner) came to our table to offer us crab eggrolls which he said costs more but he would replace with at no extra charge. The Bun Cha Ha Noi, their signature dish is a must try. Very flavorful. The pho was surprisingly delicious. I've eaten pho at many places and would rank this among my top 10. The beef slices were so tender and fresh and the meat balls same. Next thing I know I finished the whole soup. They have a variety of menu options to choose from to fit many different tastes. There's also dessert (Che) or take out dishes to choose as well. We came around 1:30 and their che desserts were almost gone. Pretty popular. One thing I want to add is the menu name was different from the sign outside or on google. It says Hanoi Quan instead of Xoi Che Houston so not sure if they are in process to change names?“

“We've been here maybe 5x. The pho (all variations) and customer service are excellent. Broth is approved by picky grandma and chef husband. We've had different phos, and they've all been well made. No need to go outside the beltway for good pho anymore. I love that they always offer blanched bean sprouts to go with pho (how northern vietnamese prefer it). The staff are attentive, with one lady in particular who is very kind and solicitous. My parents felt very cared for, so that's a double win. The sandwiches are decent, not outstanding, but acceptable when I'm craving it. Bean desserts and specialty drinks such as fresh coconut juice are always available, and good. Good ambience, excellent food, excellent service.“

“My friends and I were craving Banh Beo and this is one of the best places to get some for its price point. We ordered 48 in total and I honestly could ve gotten more but everyone else was starting to get full. They are truly addicting to eat. The textures you get in your mouth from the soft rice pancakes and crunchy toppings make eating them so satisfying.
We tried some other things on the menu as well.
The banh bot loc was great and had the nice chewy texture I was looking for. The cha oc personally wasn't for me but my other friend loved it and ordered seconds. The nem nuong ninh hoa was a good starter but I wish it came with vermicelli noodles. I tried the banh ram it for the first time and it was another interesting mix of textures. And of course, the fish sauce complimented every dish wonderfully. I will be back for sure to try and order as much banh beo possible.
Bun Bo Hue is solid and a good portion. Nem nuong spring rolls are good as well!“

“First time trying this place based on an article I saw from Eatery and it did not disappoint! It was so satisfying that I decided to write this 5 star review right away. I got the banh mi thit nuong (bbq pork baguette) and the seasoning was just right with a slight buttery taste on the baguette. The baguette was soft and fluffy yet still maintained a little crispiness on the outside but not to where it will injure the upper roof of your mouth. Anyway the banh mi thit nuong reminds me of this other place I used to love but stopped going there because quality went down. Glad I tried this place and this will be my go-to banh mi shop from now on! I will definitely be back to try the other banh mi! I hope they maintain their quality!“

“I have been to this Hương Sen restaurant a few times. Today, my friend and I came here for a late lunch. Their food always tastes so good. I like their ginger lemongrass cold tea drink; it's so refreshing. The restaurant is very small and cozy, but it has beautiful decorations and a temple interior design. Their service is always good. The owner is a very nice person. I would definitely recommend that everyone come here to try out their vegetarian dishes. You won't be disappointed.“

“Good Pho.
Deep rich beef flavor in the broth. The broth is not too spiceful, so the beef flavor shines.
Has all my fixings, sate chili with lots of lemongrass flavor, steamed beansprouts, nuoc beo, fatty brisket.
The brisket has that crunchy fat and melt in your mouth fat texture.“

“I forgot about this place after several years trying com tam at other places.
Hands down one of the best in town in my opinion.
Pork is seasoned and grilled to near perfection. You can see the grounded lemongrass and red from annatto oil in the marinade, signs pointing to authenticity.
Rice was real broken rice, hence the name “tam rice”.
Super nice lady owner, who treated me nicely and asked me what I want to eat like my aunty would.
This one hits home.
Come check it out now!“

“My family and I love to come here every once in a while usually for special events, and they never disappoint. The food here is great, we usually get the skewer platter, the papaya salad, the hem fried rice, and some more that I can’t quite remember. The food is very good and consistent every time we go. Service is always good but it does get quite busy inside. The establishment is the best part, the atmosphere of the restaurant is super nostalgic and the seating outside really takes me back to Vietnam! :))“

“The vegan beef was absolutely heavenly; the texture was soooooooo good. The prices are also good compared to normal food (good portion size too) and esp so compared to other priced up vegan food.
Their service was great too (patient with my grandparents) and very accommodating/careful of my nut & peanut allergy - informing me which dishes are fried in the same place nut dishes are. I’ll be coming back here repeatedly!“

“We got pho in a stone bowl with fatty brisket and filet on the side. The broth was incredibly flavorful and delicious! However, we were disappointed that they were out of oxtail and bone marrow, as we were really looking forward to trying those.
The hot stone bowl was a fun experience at first, but it did make the soup TOO hot. We couldn’t eat directly from the bowl and had to ask for a regular bowl on the side just to enjoy our meal comfortably.
Overall, the flavors were fantastic, but the extreme heat of the stone bowl wasn’t for us. We’ll still come back, but order just a standard bowl next time!“

“Andddd, this is one of the best places for a traditional Vietnamese meal where you eat family style and share everything. This place had wonderful service, and the flavors of the food were authentic, just like how my mom makes it.
We ordered the Vietnamese hot and sour soup with shrimp (Canh chua), water spinach with garlic (rau muon), fish Claypot (ca kho), and a fried pancake (banh bot chien). I also ordered an iced black coffee.
Flavors were ver authentic. I recommend the soup and the fish for sure. All the dishes have a big portion so make sure you bring your leftovers home!
Thank you for being so kind and helping us during our long lunch!“

If you’re looking for delicious pho and service that makes you want to keep coming back, this is the place. Ask for DJ—you won’t regret it!

“Very authentic, delicious, flavorful Vietnamese food if you are looking for something different than phở. We ordered the bún đạu mắm tôm, bánh khọt, and grilled scallops. #1 standout to me was how fresh tasting the organ meats were, which is a testament to how well they were thoroughly cleaned during preparation. We only came here during our vacation, but if we lived in the state we would be coming here every week!“

“I hadn’t had Hu Tieu in ages, and the craving hit hard—I needed a spot ASAP!😩I used to go to Phan Ky, but since they left their old location in Bellaire, it’s hasn’t been the same.
This Hu Tieu was packed with flavor and perfectly seasoned. I got the P6, Hu Tieu with egg noodles and thin rice noodles dry, and it satisfied my cravings.
Hole-in-the-wall vibes but seriously good. If you’re hungry, get the large. The small didn’t cut it, and I had to order extra noodles.“

“I really like this place, the pho is amazing, strong flavor, fresh ingredients, the ginger sauce you get is soooo good, but the biggest downside is the inaccuracy of their hours & days open. 3 times in a row I have tried to come at various times & different days of the weeks, and it has been closed.
