Despite the bad reviews, I went ahead and ordered for pickup and I’m glad I trusted myself. Whoever was in that kitchen around 3:25 PM on August 20… keep them (lol yes I checked my receipt) Matter of fact, give them a raise. If they keep making the food like that, babyyy, it’s over.
And for anybody debating on ordering? Do it.
I get the old reviews, but that was then this is NOW. Everybody deserves grace. Half the folks leaving one‑stars be right back at McDonald’s or any other fast‑food spot that messed up their order.

“Flavors were very good and balanced. The umami and spice were perfect. The veggies were fresh and crunchy. The silken tofu was sooooo good. Crispy outside with enough salt. The shaked wagyu was cooked perfectly and the lime was such a good addition. The lemongrass tasted very fresh.

The ambiance was perfect. It's not too loud so you can actually hear your mealmates.

The prices are a bit high, but the build out is very pretty.

We ordered the hush puppies, Bo luc lac/shaking beef with fried rice, honey lemon pepper wings, and Southside Cajun pasta with shrimp. I always thought I didn’t like hush puppies because they’re usually so bready but these were the best I’ve ever had. Kind of like a honey biscuit + cornbread combo with an incredible crispy buttery texture.

The server let us know about the 10 for $10 wing deal, awesome, and the wings were insane! Crisp, flavorful, never got soggy. Need to try the regular lemon pep next. The pasta and shaking beef were both perfect and hit the spot.“

“The most delicious Com Tam Dac Biet. Had it with pork belly. Meatloaf surpassed all others I've had thus far, so rich and perfectly steamed. “Went there for lunch since I was on that side of town for work and got it to go. It was delicious! I got the shaking beef, shrimp fried rice, and egg rolls. “First time trying this place based on an article I saw from Eatery and it did not disappoint! It was so satisfying that I decided to write this 5 star review right away. I got the banh mi thit nuong (bbq pork baguette) and the seasoning was just right with a slight buttery taste on the baguette. The baguette was soft and fluffy yet still maintained a little crispiness on the outside but not to where it will injure the upper roof of your mouth. Anyway the banh mi thit nuong reminds me of this other place I used to love but stopped going there because quality went down. Glad I tried this place and this will be my go-to banh mi shop from now on! I will definitely be back to try the other banh mi! I hope they maintain their quality!“

“We love PHO BEN!! This location isn’t close to us but my BIL suggested we meet in the middle and found this Pho Ben location. This is, by far, the best decorated location BUT they are all cozy and have a great ambience. The consolation is I somehow ended up with someone else different beef and rice bowl that was absolutely great. The food was really good and some MASSIVE portions.“

the herbs were fresh and varied and the coffee the best I’ve had in a long time; not too sweet and perfectly balanced.

Their banh mi and spring rolls are delicious. “My parents had a restaurant specializing in pho when I was growing up. So I’ve always been very particular with my pho. Most of the time opting out of eating pho because I couldn’t find a restaurant that could compare.

One day my brother, another pho connoisseur, introduced me to Pho Dien. They only serve pho there so that’s a good sign. To my disbelief, we have found a pho that tastes similarly to my dad’s. There are a few technical things I would change like how they slice the meat and opting out of the banh pho tuoi (only offered in the morning). Overall, would come back with my husband whenever he’s craving pho.“

“This is a little bit further down on Bellaire but we have been there twice. I have eaten a lot of their special dishes because I like to taste authentic Vietnamese food. If you are ever curious about how the Vietnamese really eat go there immediately and be adventurous. You will not be disappointed. I am not Vietnamese and yet tried a dish that was more of a sampler but you dipped everything into shrimp paste. There are many Vietnamese who will not eat it due to its strong aroma and smell. “I was totally surprised by SAN SAN TOFU. I'm a meataterian but my wife is vegetarian. I'm not very impressed by many vegetarian restaurants but SAN SAN was on point. I will definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a good Vegetarian food. The place was clean and a bit busy but I was taken care of instantly. My friends recommended me a dish name Bo Ne. So I decided to give it a try. The wait was faster than I expected. My dish was served hot and looked very delicious with all my favorites on a plate with a side salad! Beef, cherry tomatoes, onions, eggs and fresh baguette with pate and butter! (: The salad was also yummy! The dressing as well. Coming from a cook myself I would like to give a shoutout to the chef! I give the dish an 11/10! My waitress Thian was so sweet and very helpful! There is a pitcher with ice cold water on the table so no need to ask or wait to be asked for refills every few minutes. I don’t drink alcohol anymore but they had good selections. The dining area was busy and cultural. It can be a bit cleaner just keeping it real. Other than that I give the whole experience a 10/10. The parking lots was mostly filled surprisingly! I am guessing because it’s a Sunday and everyone just got out of church who knows but was still able to find parking luckily. I will definitely come back in the near future to try other dishes and hoping it will be delicious at the Bo Ne! My friends wasn’t kidding! If you are in the area go give Hem Bar and Grill a try! “The broth was delicious. There was pork livers and stomach which I like. The shrimp were overcooked. One star deducted because the pickled chilis condiment was too soft, not crunchy, and too sweet (it should be less sweet and more sour).
The price is better than many other restaurants. I would recommend.“
