“This is Alta's main on-mountain dining restaurant to stop at for a break during your day of skiing. The food is expensive but it is solid. The oatmeal raisin cookie is probably the best one we have ever had. It was amazing! There is also a small gift shop within Alf's that has tons of cool Alta branded stuff.“

“Albion Grill is a great place to relax before or in the middle of a ski day, or to wait and eat/drink if you're not skiing. You have great views and you can get there without skiing, so it's a good option for someone who doesn't want to just sit in the car. Food is more expensive than down in the valley, but not too crazy.“

I had the endive salad with honey crisp apples, chicory and nuts and my husband had the arugula/spinach salad which had these blue cheese balls that looked like croutons. “My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch with our one-year-old son while visiting town, and we’re so glad we did. Ron was our server and he was super cool, friendly, and made fantastic food suggestions. He didn’t mind at all when we kept asking for more; he was genuinely happy to help and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable.

Manager Patrick was also incredibly accommodating and conversational, which made us feel right at home. I ordered the turkey club and my husband had the bison burger. Both were insanely good. I wish I took pictures, but the food looked so amazing we couldn’t resist digging right in.

“This lodge is at the top of the red pine gondola, and at the base of saddleback and high meadow expresses. Very expensive but tasty food. Seating can be very hard to find, try to go at times away from the lunch rush.

Nearby activities: ….its a ski lodge… bet you can find something nearby to do ;)

Walkability: Walk off the red pine gondola and you’re there. Easy walking access to the lifts

Food and drinks: Ridiculously expensive, ie. 25$ for a simple hot dog and fries. But you’re on a top tier ski resort, so what do you expect? Expensive, but tasty“

“My husband and I stopped here for lunch, we devoured our combos, hence no picture lol. We both ordered the fried chicken sandwich combo with cider slaw. Delicious, honestly. We even tried the chili garlic nuggets in medium, again another great try. Danny was super helpful and kind. He gave suggestions to try, glad we stopped there made our out of town trip. “I’ve been relocating from Los Angeles and staying at the hotel for a bit, so I’ve been slowly working my way through the menu — and honestly, everything has been excellent. The half chicken was the first dish I tried and it was perfect for the season; the smoky flavor was spot on. The menu has great variety too. The mushroom ramen with added chicken has become a go-to (I’ve now ordered it three more times). The burger is really good, and the scallops were delicious.

They also have a fun fall-themed cocktail menu right now. I’ve only tried two drinks so far, but both were great and surprisingly reasonably priced. The old fashioned was solid as well.

The ambience is warm and welcoming, especially with the big fire feature when you walk in — it really sets the tone. And the staff has been consistently wonderful. Evan at the bar is super friendly, and every server I’ve had has been extremely helpful.

The soft lighting, the plush seating, and the attentive staff all created a sense of luxury and sophistication. We started with the Oysters which were beautifully presented. For my main course, I had the Seabass, which was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, served with snap peas and lentils. My husband had the wild game trio which included Buffalo, Venison, and Elk. Cooked medium rare and the perfect portion size. Our 12 year old had the 7 Oz Center Cut Filet and it was honestly the best we had ever eaten as far as flavor and tenderness. We finished our meals with the Molten Lava Cake, Tiramisu, and Pudding which was the perfect way to end a perfect meal. It was light and airy, with just the right amount of sweetness. Overall, I had an amazing experience at Riverhorse on Main. The food was exquisite, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was elegant and sophisticated. But as far as American eateries, The Farm is pretty good. I commend Vail Resorts, the manager, for that.
The menu Is creative with many interesting dishes.
