“This was my first time coming here, and I got the tri tip torta. It tasted fresh (and very flavorful!), the bread was soft, light and airy, and it was very reasonably priced. It tasted homemade in the best way!

As a home cook, I don’t often eat out because the price does not often reflect the quality of the food and experience, but I was actually very impressed with Cubby’s. I wish I could’ve gotten a cookie because they looked so soft and delicious!“

“The food wasn’t bad, but not the best we’ve had. We liked the wood fired pizzas, the caprese salad was so-so, and the service was nice but very low-energy and not very attentive. Didn’t ask if we needed refills until we were ready for our check. The atmosphere would be really nice, but the place could use a deep clean and half of the light bulbs were burned out. We went on a Friday at lunch and it wasn’t very busy, so food was fairly quick coming out.“

“We made a trip to WildFin in Farmington and the food was amazing! I would go back just for their seafood. However the service we received was horrible. We were seated at a table near the kitchen. We ordered drinks and had to flag someone down to order an appetizer, to order another drink, to order our food, to bring us plates when they served the main dish and again to get our check. I am hesitant to recommend this place for that reason. But if you go know the food is great and I hope you get better service!!“

“I DO NOT RECOMMEND! I was trying to find a restaurant that would be willing to accommodate a group of eight with outdoor seating for lunch with a confirmed reservation. My party included an 80 year old, and someone in a wheelchair. Accessibility and a limited wait was important. I was thrilled to learn the manager at Cucina was willing to put a reserved sign on one of the outdoor tables for us. When I arrived a few days later the majority of the tables had umbrellas set up but ours did not so I went inside to ask if they would be willing to set one up for us. Within earshot I heard who I assume to be the manager tell the nice young man at the register that our group does not get any “special treatment” (since they don’t typically take reservations per se). So completely rude and so irresponsible to say where I could hear it. The woman taking the orders at the counter was impatient, unhelpful and not necessarily kind or pleasant. Her responses to my aunts’ questions were snarky. The young man working the register was really nice. The food was pretty good. I will never visit this restaurant again and certainly wouldn’t plan a big family birthday lunch here again. Disappointed to say the least.“

EVERY single order has been AWEmazing, accurate, and way above the standard bar for my expectations. If you want "mom-certified" gluten free options, that tastes exceptional, to experience a caring down to earth staff that cares about the product they serve, and an space that's perfect for a casual, business, or even date night, Hug-Hes in Centerville is the spot for you. “We had yet another delicious meal and fantastic experience at Franklin Ave last night. The design and decor are absolutely stunning, and the staff from the door person to the host to the servers and managers were all so friendly and knowledgeable. We started off with the chips and whipped feta, hamachi crudo, snap peas, and ribs. All were delicious in their own rite. For the main course, I had the pasta special which included handmade pappardelle noodles, duck, oyster mushrooms, and a spicy red sauce. Yum! The miso cod, bolognese, and fish sandwich were also ordered and everyone in our group was over the moon with their selections. For dessert we shared the maple pecan respado - a must try dessert! Cocktails were amazing per usual.“

“Took some friends here for their first time. Food was delicious per usual. We went at 5:30 and weren't many people, but when we left around 7, the place was busy. Oysters were delicious and fresh. Chowder soup was creamy with large chunks of clams. I was surprised that the clam dip was cold, but I enjoyed it. Some of the best fish and chips, per my friend. Our server was fine, but had no emotion or affect whatsoever and kinda bummed is out.“

“Came here for NYE. They were charging a $20 cover charge, which is pretty steep; however, this was waived if you have a reservation. We had a reservation for later at night but were allowed to hang around until later, which was nice. It was probably one of their busiest nights, so it was packed, but the vibe was great. They had a DJ playing great sets and then a band closer to 10pm. It was quite challenging to order drinks due to the long lines, but it was understandable because the bartenders were swamped (this was even the case if you were seated at the bar). The main bar seemed reasonable, but their window had outrageous prices (probably scaled up for NYE). Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but I recommend making a reservation for events ahead of time to avoid a cover charge.

Kid-friendliness: 21+ at night“

“Pros: simple, seasoned well, healthy for a burger, cooked in tallow, offer lettuce wraps, has a bar for toppings, veggies and sauce. Different flavored aiolis!

Cons: fries were not soggy but ever so slightly to be fair they’re cooked in tallow so perhaps that’s why it has the texture.

Would come back. I love that it’s located on the second floor of harmons and it great to view the grocery shopping floor.“

Bambara – A Refined Atmosphere with Solid Service, but the Food Didn’t Quite Hit the Mark

Stopped in for lunch at Bambara, and first impressions were great — this is a classy spot with a sleek, upscale vibe. The dining room was quiet with only about five customers at the time, which made for a calm atmosphere and very attentive service. Our server was absolutely wonderful — warm, smiling, and genuinely gave the impression that she wanted to be there and take care of us. Honestly, she was one of the highlights of the experience and deserves a full 5 stars on her own.

I ordered the Steak Frites, medium rare, and to their credit, it was cooked exactly to that temperature. The meat was tender and paired with a rich brown sauce, which had a good flavor, but was very mild — almost too mild. I found myself having to add salt and pepper to nearly every bite, which isn’t a dealbreaker, but definitely not what I’d expect at this price point or from a place of this caliber. The fries that came with it were... fine. Crisp, fresh, no complaints — but nothing that stood out.

The real curiosity was the elk pasta special. Flavor-wise, I really enjoyed it. It had that slightly gamey flavor that I personally like, though I recognize it’s not for everyone. The pasta was cooked well, and the overall balance was satisfying, but it didn’t blow me away. What did surprise me was the portion size — it was fairly small considering it’s a pasta dish, which is usually inexpensive and served more generously. It left me wanting a bit more, which wouldn’t be a problem if the dish itself had delivered more depth.

Overall, I’d give the food a 3 out of 5 — nothing bad, but it just didn’t impress me the way I hoped it would. The service and atmosphere, on the other hand, were easily a 5/5. If you’re looking for a quiet, elegant lunch spot with genuinely kind staff and a relaxing setting, Bambara is a great choice. Just go in with measured expectations on the food, and you’ll probably enjoy the experience like I did.

Second Visit Update – A Delightful Turnaround

I returned to Bambara for a second visit, and I'm thrilled to report a significantly improved dining experience. I started with the cinnamon rolls, which were absolutely exceptional. The toppings tasted freshly made from scratch, and they melted in my mouth with each bite. Following that, I tried the birria grilled cheese, and it was equally impressive. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, making it a standout dish. This visit truly showcased Bambara's culinary potential, prompting me to revise my initial food rating from 3 stars to a well-deserved 5 stars.“

The salads were good and the burger was good. The food just seemed a little bit overpriced. “It has been a minute since i was here last. Was up in the area and was telling a friend about the Gawd Awful and how good it was when i ate there while doing work up at the U. It has totally been revamped inside to a new clean Hipster feel with a more “cleaned up modified version” of what i remember. As it was still good and the portion size was smaller it was still really good. But i do miss the old “Dive” it once was tho. It is what made it stand out among the rest of the new hipster joints piping up in the area. It was a really cool place to take people and no one would expect the food to be so good and it proved them wrong every time. We will just have to get used to the new i guess“

The meat was savory , plentiful and none of that occasionally fatty piece that seems to slip in at some places. I was 100% satisfied and I highly recommend giving this place a go. “Staff is so friendly and the food was sooo good. The wings were AMAZING especially the whiskey siracha ones, but I would definitely recommend getting the bone in as the portion is a little bigger! We also got the soup and Celtic nachos and both were great. The soup is intentionally under salted so I had to add some myself but it was very good! And the nachos were huge, good for sharing or just a meal for yourself lmao I will definitely be back!! Also the booze menu is huge and very affordable compared to the bars nearby 👀
