“The food was incredible. Absolutely on point with flavor for the appetizer, salad, carbonara, and cocktails. Couldn't have asked for better. The only thing that dampened the experience (which is nothing the restaurant can control) was the table of adults (large group) behind us. We were out for our anniversary and naturally just wanted relaxed and chill vibe. The adults w the large group proceeded to get heavily intoxicated and there was a lady cackling the whole time. Now I'm first to say, have your fun. But not so obnoxiously that it disturbs others in a small space. Maybe the restaurant could switch the seating some to house larger parties a little bit away from couples. Just glad the food and service was on point. It made up for the annoyance.“

“I'm always so surprised when I run into someone who has never been or heard of Italian village. They're so historic that it should be dedicated as a historic monument. The pizza benders and lasagna never dissapoints. I have such great memories eating their food. In the 80's as a young kid, eating my bender at grandma's was life. I have feelings of impending doom thinking they will one day close their doors, ha ha ha. If you haven't been, get their classic pizza bender with the dipping sauce.“

“If you like Italian food then you have to visit this restaurant in SLC! We went there twice during our 4 day stay. The service was great and so was the food! For appetizers I recommend the whipped Brie and carpaccio. The bread service was also so yummy! As for the entrees we got the risotto, brasato braised beef, truffle pasta which were 10/10. The filet Mingon was also tasty but could use a little bit less salt. Ravioli al Funghi is vegan and also tasted very fresh. As for dessert I would recommend the tiramisu! Honestly everything was flavorful 10/10 recommend.“

“We went here because of the great reviews but had a little different experience. The four of us ordered cannelloni, Tuscan chicken pasta, a mushroom pizza, and chicken mushroom ravioli with pesto sauce. Everything was served at the same time, and it was all hot except the ravioli, which was barely warm. The cannelloni (two on the plate) were not pasta in any traditional sense, more like a crepe wrapped around the filling. The food was pretty good, not great, and overpriced in our opinions for the size of the portions, which were adequate but not generous, except for the pizza. It was of a good size. We asked for water and received Costco bottled water at $1.75 each. Our server did as well as she could, but she was the only person running the restaurant, including cooking. We left a decent tip because she earned it, but we will not go back.Edited after reading the owner's two responses (the first, apparently written in haste and anger, was appropriately deleted, but I have a screenshot) --In hindsight I raised the food and general ratings to four stars. As you can see in my review, most of my issues were not with food quality. In my many experiences with Italian restaurants through the years, I have never seen cannelloni served in crepes.Local restaurants generally offer the option of free tap water in glasses. It is not mandatory, and if we had read the menu more closely, we would have seen water listed among the drinks, an oversight on our part.Based on what I mentioned in the original review, and especially based on your first response, we are more committed than ever to not returning.“

“This place is so good. This is the second time we’ve picked up pasta here and, so far, our favorite sauces are the simple San Marzano and San Marzano with veggies. The latter has more of that onion flavor you might be used to in sauces if you don’t usually get simple red sauces. The pasta is fresh and has a great bite. It’s not watery, overcooked, or bland. A lot comes in a regular size so you’ll be filled. Both flavors of panna cotta are wonderful. The chocolate is rich and the mixed berry is my personal favorite.I really appreciate that there’s a place with great fresh pasta that’s so accessible.“

“The ambiance of this place is great! It's perfect for a date, meeting, gathering, or just dinner. Everything has a rustic feel to it.The food is all delicious. The handmade pasta was the absolute highlight out of everything. The tagliatelle was amazing, and I added a lobster tail on top as was recommended by the waiter. The lamb papardelle was also great, but lamb is not generally something I order myself. The house cocktails were not the best part of our meal, and I would recommend just getting something else. They weren't very tasty because strong alcohol flavors muted everything, but that was just my palette. The doughnuts are awesome. Listen to everyone and don't miss out on those. They're served hot and fresh. The tiramisu was also very good. It had a nice espresso flavor, but it was still very light, airy, and creamy.“

“My wife and I have been excited to try this place! The environment and decor is great. The service was awesome. The food was really good. We would definitely come back. We went right after it opened and they didn't have their liquor license yet which they said they should have soon. We got the smoked trout dip (4/5) the chips were especially good. The risotto (1.5/5) was our least favorite. It was a little crunchy and the green apples in it didn't really compliment the dish. The braised beef and hummus was INCREDIBLE (6/5). So so tasty and tender. The pomegranate molasses was such a nice touch and the flat bread was awesome. Speaking of which the bread they bring out at the beginning also INCREDIBLE (6/5). We also got the smoked pastrami and charred cabbage (4/5). It was a yummy dish. I don't think I'd get it again. Surprisingly the charred cabbage was the star of the show, not the pastrami but it was still an enjoyable dish to try. We will definitely be back to Roux!“

“After eating at Stanza, I couldn't believe I'd never eaten here before. The food here was an unexpected treat. The flavors in every dish complimented each other in such a way that I didn't think were possible. Typically, when I go out to eat, I may find one or two things I want to try. However, this place offered so many delicious descriptions of their dishes that I couldn't pick between 5 or 6 different dishes. I chose the pecan crusted rack of lamb. I'm so glad I did because it was cooked to perfection, and the flavor was devine. The mascerpone polenta was a flavorful surprise. Order it! You won't be disappointed. The Kallette salad and the linguine dish were a knockout! Every bite offered the most amazing flavors. You seriously can't go wrong with whatever you order here. This place is seriously a secret surprise! I'm gonna come back here and have told several of my friends about since dining here. Besides the food, the atmosphere is nice and inviting. More than enough room for you and others without feeling like you're on top of each other. No obnoxious loud music to have to deal with like these new places popping up all over SLC. The food is high quality, and the presentation obviously matters to them. It’s so refreshing to go to a vegan establishment that doesn’t have grumpy hipster staff who just think you should be happy about whatever they choose to give you that day.. lol. I’m talking about a competitor around the corner. But If you have standards in your dining experience when you go out to spend your hard earned money, then Seasons hits the mark. You might pay a just a little more here than some of the other Plant Based restaurants around town, but you’ll be happy about spending your money when you see what you get in return. “Our food at Valter's Osteria was fantastic! My husband and I were looking for a top tier restaurant for our last night in Salt Lake City and Valter's Osteria did not disappoint. The inside of the restaurant is gorgeous but still manages to feel like a family-owned establishment. It is an upscale restaurant even though they do not have a dress code. If you do not want to feel out of place, I suggest dressing up a little bit. It is a fairly small dining space for how busy they are. While I am not a fan of cramped dining, the waiters bus the tables regularly, so you do not typically have too much on your table at any time. The wait staff is also very serious, which I mistook at first. It seems to be the type of high-class atmosphere they are going for and not that they are looking down on you. It made me feel a little small at first but by the time we got our appetizer I was over it.Our waiter, Gustavo, had a lot of good suggestions and we took him up on all of them. We ordered a porchetta, rucola e fontina for our appetizer. It was good and light. For our entrees we ordered veal albese and the nana in porchetta savinese (duck in cognac and grape sauce). I had the veal, and it was really good but the duck dish my husband had was absolutely delicious. It was very different from anything we have eaten before, and I am sure we will order it again if we ever go back to Valter's Osteria. We had to order dessert and the only time our waiter smiled at us was when we were bringing us the desserts. We knew it was going to be good! For dessert we ordered the tiramisu which was so good it almost made me cry. I know that is dramatic, but it was so good, and it made me so happy! We also ordered the lemon gelato with honey and lemon juice, and it was hands down the best dessert my husband and I have ever had at a restaurant. The waiter prepares the dessert table side, and it is really fun to watch. I could go back to Valter's Osteria just for the lemon gelato. It is pretty rare that my husband and I enjoy everything we get at a restaurant, but here everything was absolutely delicious. If you are in the Salt Lake City area and are looking for an incredible Italian restaurant, look no further than Valter's Osteria.“

Being downtown, parking can be a bit of an issue, but the experience is worth the trouble. Also, if visiting during peak times, reservations should be considered.“
