“Good food and great service!“

“We came through Roanoke and ate at Hollywood Restaurant & Bakery. Food and service were fabulous but I want to rave about their customer service after we left. I called a few days later because I had left a jacket on the back of my chair. I asked if I could pay to have it shipped to me. They offered to ship it for free. It arrived at my home in Chesapeake, VA in great condition. Thank you so much. That is true customer service.“

“This was our first time going to Lucky and went at the advice of a friend. We were not disappointed! From the time we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly hostess/server and brought to our table. We dined on the garlic scrapes an appetizer and amazing! The kimchi, garlic, soy and honey along with the fried garlic scrapes were an unlikely combo, but oh wow- did it work. I dined on the shrimp and grits, which was a new take on the classic and everything on the plate was perfect. My husband opted for the evenings chef special, which was Spanish cooked octopus. If done incorrectly, octopus can taste like a tire; but this was so tender you could cut it with a fork. It had a slight heat on the back end with chili flakes. Dessert we had the “davaroos” which are homemade lavender shortbread cookies with a lemon curd sauce. It was delicious!! Don't even get me started on the craft cocktails. Whatever you can think of, they can make and impeccably I might add . Hands down an amazing experience. We will be back!“

“Love love love the fish sandwich! Every time I take my first bite I still say hm mm this mtf good but i will say yall getting smaller now with them. But keep the fresh taste great seasoning going. And..... I'll never buy another sandwich doubled bc the fish is smaller in size. I'll just go to Cafe express where the meat be meating every time BUT yall still got some good fish sandwiches“

“Horrible experience. The descriptions on the menu are inaccurate. I went and had lunch with my 86-year-old mother. We ordered salads. She ordered Cobb salad and I ordered the fried chicken salad, because the description says it's served on a bed of "mixed greens". I hate iceberg lettuce. When my salad came, I ate the fried chicken tenders, but complained, because the salad was nothing but iceberg and romaine lettuce. The young, so-called manager, named TJ, was very rude and unapologetic and told me that lettuce is mixed greens. He told me if I wasn't happy, I could go to cooperate, in which I did. I was truly embarrassed by how I was treated in front of my mom. Update: I spoke to the owner Bob, he was super apologetic and embarrassed at how his employee treated us. He said the menu has been the same way for 30 plus years. We discussed how lettuce and mixed greens are NOT the same thing, and is misleading on the menu. I know after speaking with him that he will do the right thing.“

“Been going to Paul’s for over thirty years. Never, ever had a bad or even so-so meal there. The owners are there, they will get to know you and are always trying to please your eating experience. May I suggest you try it. It is not the high class Restr.. , but one you will find reasons to return. Tell them Dan sends his best!“

“Some probably have already been here, but this was my first time eating here on the restaurant side. If you haven’t already, be sure to swing by and give them a try! That salad was HUGE but all those veggies were probably the freshest I’ve ever gotten anywhere! And those season fries/chips were made to order, so hot and fresh, and cooked right! The server was working both the restaurant side and the bar side. There were like 2 birthday parties happening over there. But she managed to work both sides, not feeling overwhelmed (or at least she didn’t let it show) and was always friendly and was smiling. What a great personality! If you’re looking for some place different, y’all swing by Don Ho's Restaurant & Lounge and give them a try!“

After a small confrontation with my server Steve over the table for 4 in a well lit area that I had requested when making my reservation through Open Table, that reminded me of the confrontation Ronald Reagan had at the radio station when they tried to take the microphone away from him and he replied "I am paying for this microphone," Steve handled himself like a gentleman and was able to bring out the best in him, providing me with an extraordinary dining experience. The food was amazing as usual, the ambiance distinguished, and the service exemplary. Billy's has been my favorite restaurant since I moved to the Star City of the South, Roanoke. Not only to dine on special occasions, but my philosophy has always been that you can make any day special by dining at Billy's. I totally recommend Billy's for the fine dining experience of your life.“
