“From the moment we walked into Umpli Dumpling, we knew we were in for something special. The atmosphere is welcoming. The food is absolutely delicious; our waiter, Jonathan, recommended the fried pork chops, the new pork belly, and the chicken ramen.

However, what truly stood out was the service. Our waiter, Jonathan, was exceptional. He knew the menu inside and out, gave us excellent recommendations, and made sure our drinks were never empty. It's rare to find such a great combination of food and top-notch hospitality. We will definitely be back!“

“This place is subpar. Food was average, not worth the price. However, I will absolutely be coming back due to the service. Andrew did everything in his power to accommodate my family. I don’t think I’ve seen a server as personable, competent, and willing to fulfill our wants and needs. He seems to go out of his way in order to make us feel welcome, and that no task is too small. He even made our kids happy! Any request they had, he was on top of. Very attentive, respectful, and polite! Maybe this guy should be a manager….? He checked on us more than the actual managers did, even though he was clearly busy; I don’t think I saw a manager my entire time. I would have loved to praise him to a higher up. KEEP THIS GUY! I love the new lamps on the table, it gives a little more light, and makes me feel like I’m not in a dungeon. Host seemed very disinterested in helping, and very monotoned. Not necessarily how I want to feel when I walk in. Didn’t really feel welcome until our server came along.“

“Delicious malatang and very friendly owner. I liked that it was not self-serve and likely more sanitary than regular malatang. Also such a treat that they had 锅包肉, a specialty from my family’s region in China. It was so delicious and fresh, and we loved it!“

Here’s my quick take:
Walked in not expecting much, but the place has a clean, no-frills vibe that feels pretty authentic. You can tell this is more about the food than the experience.

Started with the soup dumplings — honestly, these are the reason to come here. Good broth inside, not too greasy, and held together well (which is half the battle with XLB).

Went for the spicy beef noodle soup next. Flavor was good, comforting, but I wish it had a bit more punch. Noodles were legit though — chewy, fresh, and clearly the highlight.
Service was… okay. Not bad, not great. Feels like a place that gets busy and just keeps moving.

Overall: this is a solid local spot. Not mind-blowing, but if you order right, you’ll walk out happy. Definitely coming back for dumplings and buns.“

It is so special that we have food like this in our area, everything here (noodles, dumplings, etc) are so obviously made the day of (you can tell by the taste) by hand, from scratch. The owner was so kind and nice.

Make sure you try the spicy wonton and the biang biang, and dine in.

“It was my first time here and the atmosphere is so nice. Everything was clean and bright. Our waitress Anna was so amazing and we really appreciated her explaining some menu items to us. She even recommended a few items and they were all delicious. I would definitely come back.“

“This is a chain that has locations all over New York. I'm glad there is a location close to me. It's my go to for sauerkraut fish soup.

They also have a secret menu for Fuzhou cuisine like peanut noodles, Fuzhou wontons and meatball soup that are pretty close to what I remember from Fuzhou.“

“This place is incredible. I am not aware of any other luosifen noodle house in the area. If you, like me, are a newcomer to this style of noodle soup, you are going to be extremely impressed. The bone broth is bracing, complex, and flavorful, far richer and deeper than pho or tonkotsu. Recommend getting it spicy: it brings all the flavors together without being overwhelming. Additionally, the Sichuan menu is one of the best in the area, second only to Mama Chang's and Hong Kong Palace. This place is pretty new and trying to get its feet underneath it. “We love this place and it’s part of our regular take-out rotation. They have so many options for different dietary preferences (I’m a vegetarian) and ability to make it “healthier” like extra veggies, brown rice, etc. Also the portions are pretty generous that it usually ends up being two meals for me (and the prices are super reasonable). Their Mongolian beans are to die for. Staff is always friendly , food always hot and orders are always correct. Really grateful to have this place nearby.“

“Went on Mother’s Day for a friend’s bday dinner. We only had 3 ppl so couldn’t make a reservation for 6pm. Went in at 5:30 pm to put our name down but the host told us there was no wait so we came back at 6 pm and the wait was then 45 min 🥲oh well. Nonetheless the food was amazing and fast! Love the sauce bar, ease of ordering with the iPads, and individual pots. Would like to try it again when it wasn’t a holiday.“

The dishes were tasty, the portion was generous, and the ingredients fresh. Overall I appreciate pricing and the quality food make this restaurant.
