We were there for a birthday and my son's favorite is the marinated Kalbi and it typically always gets cooked last. Seeing that as my son was waiting the server said he would add a note to my reservation for the future so it gets cooked first so my son doesn't have to wait. :) The meat quality was excellent! I would say though since I been to this restaurant several times in the past, the amount of meat per the pre fixe menu definitely has decreased. In any case, excellent service and great meat quality! FOOD 9.5/10 : Everything here is small plates. Well, not EVERYTHING, but mostly, get small plates with the expectation of sharing. Our server Gabriella made this clear at the beginning, and it was easy to add more food. The things that were suggested were delightful.

SERVICE: 12/10 Without flaw. The restaurant really is a tightly run ship. Dishes we were done with were taken by seemingly any staff member with free hands, and never lingered on the table. The ... Maitre d? Manager? Madea especially did everything she could to make a Wednesday night date night special, especially by sharing her expertise and showcasing outstanding judgment when it came to picking the perfect wine. She was clearly a busy woman, but at no moment did we feel like an inconvenience.

VIBE: 9/10 I would prefer to dress up for a place like this, but I saw plenty of people in street clothes. It was a casual enough vibe that everyone seemed welcome despite their attire. The decorations were tasteful. Seating was comfortable. This was not the sort of place insistent on flipping tables ASAP. The lighting was a little dim for anyone who needs reading glasses. Toilet paper was above average quality for a restaurant, but not lavish.

WINE LIST: well organized, easy to read, but tailored towards those who are already knowledgeable. I saw several wines I had never heard of, but since there was knowledgeable staff on hand to help guide one to a wine (that blew our socks off and make us question whether every wine we've ever previously had was a waste of taste buds) we weren't intimidated. The wine glasses were nice.

COST: a well padded dinner for two was ~$280. It was worth it. We will be back.“

“Today my husband and I had the opportunity to dine at Fleming. The staff was AMAZING! Matt, the manager was on top of every request, need, and want. As soon as anyone in the restaurant needed anything, we witnessed him assisting the service staff to make sure that it was done immediately. He is the type of manager that people dream of! Wish he were on my team. Luis was our server and was great! He was on top of our every need, was attentive, and easily on of the best servers I've ever had. To round out the team, Juan was behind Luis with any additional support that we needed. Quiet professional with great service; Quick, fast, and in a hurry. The ambiance of the restaurant is hard to find in DC. It was quiet enough for a one on one conversation, but energetic enough to make sure that we were not bored. The food was top notch! My stomach hurts because I should have tapped out 15 minutes ago but the food was too good to stop. I'd recommend the Leviathan wine and tomahawk steak. We are big eaters and could not finish our salads and soup, steak, or desserts! My husband highly recommends the French onion soup, Mac and cheese, and Brussels sprouts. Overall the service, ambiance, food, and staff were wayyyyyy more than we expected. We look forward to patronizing this location again. I wish I had pics, but we ate too fast.“

“I hosted a friend’s birthday party at ShipGarten and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From start to finish, the staff was absolutely amazing. They made the entire planning process easy and stress-free, with clear, quick, and efficient communication every step of the way. They were incredibly accommodating. The food was great, my favorites were the funnel cake fries and the guacamole. The Cider was delicious!!! The venue itself is fantastic for hosting events, and I highly recommend ShipGarten for birthdays, gatherings, or any special occasion. One of the things I love most is that they also host dog-friendly events, which makes the place even more special! I had an amazing time and will absolutely be using ShipGarten for future events!!!“

“Our experience at the Cardinal restaurant was overall good. It's a restaurant inside the Hilton hotel. There is a bar with seating, lounge and restaurant seating. Gladys was our server and she took great care of us, very friendly and fast service. She checked on us several times and gave good recommendations for food. We both had the Santa Fe Chicken salad. It was very tasty and fresh, including tomatoes and avocado. The vodka martinis were good sized and delicious. Prices for food were reasonable. Drinks were more expensive than usual. I would go back.“
