From the hostess's accommodation of our late arrival, friendly greeting, and front door coat check to our waiter’s, Elmer, and wait staff’s attentive service throughout our visit, Cranes was superb! “This is probably the best pasta I’ve had in DC. I’ve been here twice for dinner now, and the pastas were all great. We got a few smaller portions - the alla norma, taglioni, rigatoni, and agnolotti - all were good. We also tried the sfincione [we are both Sicilian], which was OK but not really a sfincione. Good wine selection and great espresso martinis too. Will return.“

“I went for brunch, which is only open on weekends. I wanted to try the other branch in The Wharf, but this branch had just opened, so I came here. I ordered a menu that recreated Paris Brest like a bagel and wine. The menu idea was unique and the taste wasn't that great, but the plating was pretty and I had a satisfying meal, so I think I'll go again. However, the price is a bit on the high side, but I think it's worth the price because the interior and atmosphere are beautiful!“

The menu is somewhat like a tapas place in that the portions are fairly small and if you go hungry, you may need to order more than one. “First visit; I went for Restaurant Week. I ordered the chicken corn chowder, the short rib ravioli and the caramel cheesecake. The chowder was excellent, a great balance of corn and chicken and a goodly amount--but not too much--pepper. I loved it...and a very generous portion! The ravioli was super too--cooked to perfection, stuffed to capacity with cheese, accompanied by a nice hunk of well-seasoned and -cooked short rib. I wasn't able to finish it, so I took some home. I took the cheesecake home too and ate it after a couple of conf calls. Just the right amount of caramel with a couple of strawberries and a creme Anglaise sauce. Scrumptious!! I don't remember many occasions when I've loved all three courses of a meal, but that was certainly the case tonight. I can't wait to go back.“

“I had the pleasure of visiting Minya’s, and it was fantastic! The pizza was absolutely delicious – the crust was perfectly crispy, the toppings fresh, and the cheese melted just right. Whether you’re a fan of classic pizza or looking for something more creative, they have a wide variety of options to choose from. My favorite is definitely the Derho pizza, love the Eritrean fusion of it all!

The service was fast and friendly, and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had a great dining experience. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for both a casual meal or a night out with friends.

No space inside to eat so be prepared to eat it outside, we didn’t mind since it was beautiful out but check the weather prior to arriving. I would come back if I am close by but I wouldn’t take an uber 25 minutes for a bagel here.“

Madupe' is her name and she's a great asset to the staff here. “We came here after the nationals game and Dylan was our server and it was his best experience ever. My husband had the liver and onions and I had the cob salad and it was delicious. My sister-in-law had the avocado salad. I would come here at 10 out of 10 a time every single time and don’t forget to ask for Dylan as your waiter. It was amazing. And order the Mojito!“

The hot and sour soup is particularly noteworthy, standing out as one of the best in the area. Additionally, the lunch menu's orange chicken is delightful, with a unique infusion of actual orange rind that avoids being overly sweet. While savory, the pork with dried bean curd was slightly saltier than anticipated but satisfying when eaten with rice.“

The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was some of the best Thai we have ever had. The Pad Thai was amazing. The Hang Over Noodles (Drunken Noodles) was exceptional. And the red curry was by far the best I’ve had in the area. The ambiance was quite pleasant as well. Initially we were sat in an area that was a little noisy for our taste, but they graciously moved us to a much quieter section. The owner, Nancy came over after our meal and was very appreciative of our comments on the meal. She shared with us that she personally picks the freshest ingredients she can find to ensure the quality of the food. I would highly recommend Soul Thai to everyone. We will be coming back soon. Everything about this restaurant is so nice: from the views to the atmosphere of the restaurant itself and the service, all is a nice experience. It is a very big place as they have seating in different places. I particularly enjoyed the covered seating on the outside near the water. The menu was varied and offered a variety of seafood options. I enjoyed the crispy crunchy hush puppies and the clam chowder. Very tasty! The service was excellent as well. Would I return to this restaurant? Yes!“
