“I'm from Salt Lake City, Utah, where Cafe Rio originated, and I was so thrilled to see that there's one here in the NoVa area. The staff are always friendly, good at accommodating dietary restrictions, and the quantity they give at cafe Rio is the best. You can't beat the taco Tuesday daily special as well. Definitely would recommend for a quick bite on your way through town.

“Excellent place for traditional Japanese cuisine. We had the Bento boxes, and I was unable to take mine to go (we're traveling & had no availability to keep food cool). Good size portions and a variety of different types of food. Diffinatly a place to return to.“

“Amazing! The sushi tasting menu was exceptional and filling! Delicious and whimsical cocktails. Bar in the back, very hip and chic workout being pretentious. Wagyu beef skewers from the bar was one of the best things I’ve ever had. All the skewers were amazing and the fried chicken and other bar snacks are classic bar foods, but way elevated- can not wait for the rest of the space to open!“

“I’ve been twice and already can’t wait to come back. Each course is impeccable. I loved their beautiful Shucking Peas dish with kohlrabi and peanuts. I enjoyed being served by at least 5 chefs and servers and sitting at the counter was fun. This is the kind of vegetarian cuisine that wows me with every bite.“

“This was BY FAR the best dosas and Idli we have had in years! Chef Paul is amazing and he told me he doesn’t believe in catering or delivery because South Indian food is best served hot and fresh and I couldn’t agree more! The Idlis melted in my mouth. The dosas were just perfect - the masala and chutney and sambhar -10/10! Go - no run to this place!“

“We had an early dinner before attending a performance at the Ford’s Theater. We made reservations through Open Table and were immediately seated upon arrival. The service was great. Our server recommended several dishes that we loved. There were abundant vegan and vegetarian options. Chilorio de Res tacos were mouthwatering as were the Hongos en Milto ones. In fact, every dish we ordered was delicious. One dish (chilaquiles) never arrived from the kitchen but we were pressed for time so we opted to have it taken off our bill instead of waiting for them to prepare it separately. Dessert, Cafe de Olla, was phenomenal. Pics are only some of the items we tried. Great atmosphere for date night and a milestone birthday celebration. Highly recommend.“

“We had the best time at KooKoo DC last night. They accommodated a table of 14 for my spouse's birthday and never let us feel like an imposition. The food was so fresh, authentic, and reasonably priced - I did a double take when we got the bill. I even felt like we went all-out with apps, drinks, and desserts! Today I went to the Bangladesh Embassy, and after I finished my embassy work, I started searching for a good restaurant in that area. Luckily, GPS found the restaurant. We went with my wife and my son, and we ordered three dishes. First, we ordered two dishes. We tasted the first two dishes; they were very delicious. Then we ordered another one. All three dishes were delicious. I really enjoy the delicious food. I have no words to describe how delicious the food is. I highly recommend this place.“

“The service was attentive and friendly. With the preselected menu being two servings of steak frites, they'd asked me what temperature I wanted. I figured they'd be masters of medium rare given the restaurant's name, but unfortunately I wasn't served a medium rare steak. The first course they served was rare, with a good part of the center uncooked. The sauce was good, but the doneness made it much too chewy. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited for my second course, and again, was not served a medium rare steak. This time, though, on the opposite end of the spectrum— the steak was served medium well, without much pink. I'm mildly confused by two things: how there's this much variance in steak doneness, and why a restaurant named Medium Rare seemingly hasn't figured out how to make a medium rare steak. I'd give it a 6/10 overall— I wish the food was treated better.“

“Awesome spot!! Food was very good! We got the brussel sprouts, Mac & Cheese with bacon, tots, Reuben and the Jalapeño burger. I wish the Mac & Cheese had that cheesy gooey ness to it but that’s a personal preference. It was still super good and we ate the whole thing.
The beer list was extensive! I stuck to their Sour selection and dang they were all so good! My friend had a few different drinks but the one that stuck out was the Peach Cider. It tasted like you legit just bit into a Peach!
The whole staff were welcoming and friendly. The bartender, Joe, (I hope I remembered his name correctly) was great!“

“It was my first time at this restaurant. I wanted to eat Omakase style , but they did not have that. But instead they had a 4 course meal plus deserts and I was super impressed with the food. The sushi was fresh and the chef did an outstanding job with the sushis. I love the flavors and the fact that this is truly a gourmet sushi experience. The sushis had the right amount of rice ( not too much) and the sushi rice was seasoned to perfection. I ordered the miso soup and although it was not the usual flavor for me , it was still delicious and not as heavy on the soybean paste. You should rally try it. By the way our waiter Franz did a fantastic job serving us.“

“First visit; I went for Restaurant Week. I ordered the chicken corn chowder, the short rib ravioli and the caramel cheesecake. The chowder was excellent, a great balance of corn and chicken and a goodly amount--but not too much--pepper. I loved it...and a very generous portion! The ravioli was super too--cooked to perfection, stuffed to capacity with cheese, accompanied by a nice hunk of well-seasoned and -cooked short rib. I wasn't able to finish it, so I took some home. I took the cheesecake home too and ate it after a couple of conf calls. Just the right amount of caramel with a couple of strawberries and a creme Anglaise sauce. Scrumptious!! I don't remember many occasions when I've loved all three courses of a meal, but that was certainly the case tonight. I can't wait to go back.“
