“Always great food no matter when we go! And service is usually on point. After the first year of hype, we've never had a problem doing a walk-in and being seated without waiting more than five-ish minutes. However, I'd still recommend doing a reservation because you can pick your dining experience that way since Ellie Bird certainly has 4 zones of vibe. There is the bar, which has the most attentive service and I actually prefer it on weeknights, but it bumps into the waiting area and they don't really separate the two, so we've had weekend patrons reach between us while dining to order drinks while they wait for a table. The front dining room is buzzy, on theme, and what you probably are expecting if you haven't been here yet, but frequently need a reservation to get seated here. The kitchen counter seating is an interesting experience if you've never done something like that, but each time we've been there, the service has not been as attentative as the other zones. Finally there is the back dining room, which is where you are likely to get seated as a walk-in, especially on a relatively busy night. Don't fret, the food and service are just as good as the front room, but the ambiance is totally different. It feels like a lower tier restaurant back there.“

If I had been blindfolded and didn't know that I entered the establishment via the parking lot of Belle View Shopping Center I would have thought I was in an upscaled restaurant in downtown DC. This has become our favorite date night spot. Delicious food options and creative cocktails along with exceptional service (Brett) made our evening one to remember. I love a well made Old Fashioned and I wasn't disappointed. The secret ingredient of the quarter branch apple brandy took it to next level. We are looking forward to our next date night already!“

“I'm so glad my friend and I discovered this great happy hour spot a short walk from the GW/Foggy Bottom metro. It has a lovely, serene, covered patio that is one of the few spots in DC where you can have a conversation without yelling over the din. The happy hour menu is a great deal and lasts until 6:30 pm. The burger and mushrooms we tried were delicious. I'll definitely be back to try other dishes. Everyone was very warm and attentive.“

A Hidden Gem in Old Town Alexandria!

Alice Cocktail Bar exceeded every expectation and delivered an absolutely phenomenal dining and cocktail experience from start to finish.

The cocktails were outstanding. I started with the Alice, a beautifully crafted blend of Roku Gin, Elderflower Liqueur, Lychee Liqueur, Butterfly Pea, Yuzu, and Egg White. It was light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. I also enjoyed the Gold Rush, made with Four Roses Bourbon, Cointreau, Honey, Yuzu, and Egg White—a smooth, flavorful cocktail that quickly became a favorite.

My partner ordered the Beach House and the Flamingo, both of which were exceptional. The Beach House combined Espolon Blanco, Banhez Mezcal, Passion Fruit, Pineapple, Aperol, and Lime for a tropical burst of flavor. The Flamingo was equally delicious and was served in an adorable tiki glass that added a fun touch to the experience.

For appetizers, we ordered the Crab Rangoon and the Grilled Pork Sticky Rice. Let me just say—both were A1 delicious. The pork was perfectly marinated and grilled, and paired wonderfully with the sticky rice and chili garlic lime sauce.

For our entrées, we had the Crab Fried Rice and the Phuket Seafood. Both dishes were absolutely incredible. The Phuket Seafood, loaded with mixed seafood, onions, scallions, bell peppers, young peppercorns, sweet basil, carrots, and roasted chili sauce, was bursting with flavor. Chef’s kiss! The Crab Fried Rice was equally impressive. In my book, both dishes are award-winning.

What truly elevated the experience was the service. Our waitresses were attentive, knowledgeable, and spot-on with their recommendations throughout the evening. Their hospitality made an already fantastic experience even better.

Overall, Alice Cocktail Bar earns an easy A++. Amazing drinks, outstanding food, exceptional service, and a great atmosphere. I cannot wait to return.

“Best classic American breakfast I've had in Northern Virginian. Comes as close to what I grew up with in the Tidewater area as I have had here in NOVA. Eggs were cooked and SEASONED nicely, bacon was CRISP, potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and they were nice chunks. Ketchup had a flavor twist that was delicious. Coffee had a good flavor and the cup was huge. Prices were very competitive.“

The owner, Steve, is so personable and you can tell he genuinely cares about his business. He made an effort to talk to us (even our 4-year-old), which was really sweet and made the whole experience feel more personal. I also loved how he hyped up his staff, you can tell they’re appreciated. The food though… wow. The brown butter lobster roll was seriously amazing! The fried fish melts in your mouth and the truffle fries are addicting. My family and I left so impressed. The food was incredible, and Steve’s kindness just made it even better. He even shared how to make one of their sauces at home, which was such a nice gesture. So again, thank you Steve and staff for an amazing dinner & becoming our go-to seafood spot. “It is a nice bar with good quality drinks. The weird part was that we had to wait quite a long time at the door and then were told to wait more until our reservation at 9pm. While we waited 3 other couples came in and were turned away as they did not have reservations… one couple was told to come after 45min. Then when we entered at 9pm the place was half empty with many free tables 🤷🏻‍♀ I guess they don't need clients and felt bad for couples who were told to leave despite being half empty…“
