“I typically really like this restaurant, so maybe they were just off. But the waiter and bartender both insisted that I try a California Chardonnay when I specifically told them I didn't like oaky wines. I was right, and they ended up dumping a 9oz pour. The scallops and risotto, which I normally adore were overdone and rubbery. The cedar-plank salmon that I recommended for my husband based on past experience was literally raw in the middle and burned on the edges. The saving grace was the nice ambiance and the yummy desserts - go for the key lime, you will not regret. I will go back because I've always had great food and service before. I will have to assume that this was just a bad night. But be warned if this is a downward trend....“

“Me, my mom & my 7 month old went to Earl’s for dinner last night. We were seated promptly, which was a wonderful surprise for a Friday evening. While we inquired about dining outside on the patio, the hostess was very honest about it being an option but warned us that, due to no fault of the restaurant, the red lantern flies had been a problem for some diners and we certainly appreciated the heads up!

William was our server and he was spectacular, from beginning to end. Despite it being a full restaurant & he was clearly busy, no request was forgotten and we didn’t wait long for anything!
William made good conversation, getting to know us, remembered all of our names, made wonderful recommendations, was honest about the menu options and how they’d align with our preferences and taste buds. He took notice & care of our food allergies/restricted diets & promptly brought out an order of mashed potatoes for the baby. He also made sure to acknowledge and bring out a small treat for my mom’s birthday. He made it a wonderful experience and I’m looking forward to my next visit already!

I cannot forget Jackie -who stopped by our table and was very funny, kind and welcoming!

“This place is a true local gem. Food is of very high quality, and everything is consistently cooked to perfection. Their consistency is actually really impressive - I’ve never been disappointed by a single thing, and I’ve eaten A LOT of their food. But everything is so good, so I haven’t really made my way outside of the same few items from their menu. The difference is that the staff actually care about their customers, and take pride in their food. It’s not so common these days, and is a pleasant surprise. It’s the reason I will always eat there.“

“The bartenders are great and friendly enough given the size of the bar and restaurant as a whole. Prices are reasonable, and the drinks are tasty. Yard House is a nice relaxed spot to go solo for a nice dinner, fun and exciting enough to hit for HH, chill enough to bring your kids. Overall, it's a solid spot. Parking is a bit tight, but you can usually find a space during the week. Located in Springfield Mall.“

“Very satisfied on my first visit to Ellie Bird. We came for Brunch for my wife’s birthday. The staff were all very attentive and many wished her a happy birthday as they welcomed us in, which often gets overlooked at other restaurants, but it made her morning feel so much more special. It may seem like a small notion, but it was a touching detail to our initial visit. The brunch menu is small but packed with flavors and meaningful dishes. We love this and wish we could try it all. We decided to start with the PB&J French toast as a shared app. It’s an entree item, but upon hearing how much the owner loves this item we had to try it out. We also ordered the Pineapple Bun sliders and Tornado omelette. For us the trio of entrees was the perfect blend of savory, sweet, and salty, hitting all the right notes. Also highly recommend the Ellie Bird Latte. Glad we came, we will be back for more!“

Our server, George, went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. He handled our party of 16 so smoothly — it felt like we were at a table of four with how attentive and efficient he was! “I've been going to the Silver Diner in Reston for over 15 years. Food is always good, new items added to menu seasonally, staff are real folks who are easy to talk with and joke with as well. You get a sense of "family" when you are there as staff and customers interact. Servers are fun people and make your day. Today was Rubia's day and she is special. Come out and see for yourself.“

“I was visiting the DC area and wanted pizza, so I decided to try Matchbox. I love a meaty pizza, so I ordered The Pig, which was loaded with pepperoni, ham, sausage, salami, and bacon, and it was super cheesy! Most of the toppings were underneath the cheese. I chose a 10-inch pizza, which was a good size if you have a big appetite or want to share with a friend. The service was excellent; my waiter was very attentive. The space was clean, relaxed, and private enough for each party to enjoy their own area.“

“We went to the restaurant down at the wharf….. To start, the hostess at the front was on her phone and not really paying any mind to the people walking in the door. Come to find out after that was the floor manager. Then we get sat and none of the workers talk about who is in charge of that section. We did. It get me is or silverware. The very nice bartender comes up, gets us some water and menus gets us started and finally the sever comes over to us. The server took our order and checked on us twice. When the food was brought to the table we still didn’t have silverware and had to ask the food runner. Our server had a a ten top when we arrived and she was checking on her the whole time not paying any mind to the other tables she has. It was to the point I had to go up to someone ask for water refill bc both our glasses were empty. We finish our meals that were very good and no one but the bartenders are on the floor. I see our sever walk over to the restroom, she comes out looks at us and sees that we are sitting doing nothing, then walks over to a new 10 top and disappears. It’s at thing point I now have to walk over to the bartender and get our check and they are the ones that cash us out. Thank you to the bartender that took care of us“

“The food appears... lesser quantity than in DC. The biscuits were smaller, and harder. I saw no bacon. The sausage (pork or chicken) was not "week done" as with the DC restaurant. Also there wasn't any shrimp. I got there at 9:am, and was told reservations were needed. So I Sat at the bar. Def a 3.5 rating on food here“

“I don’t usually post reviews, but i had to for this place.

I ordered a Sausage and Cheese Omelette with sourdough toast. It’s one of the best omelettes i’ve had. And the price was so nice and affordable. Stuff like this in california would cost double and have less quality.

If work asks me to travel back for fairfax, i’ll definitetly swing by for other items on the menu. Thinking of getting the Katsu next…
