“News Years Eve reservation! super friendly staff, beautiful space and amazing food!! can't wait to try everything on the menu. Seated promptly even for a holiday, loved the industrial look of everything, beautiful view and even though it was super busy everything came out quickly and the tuna poke!!... amazing, highly recommend!!!!“
“The matzoh ball soup tastes like love, and that’s all you need to know.“
“Had an amazing afternoon at the tasting room! Both bartenders were incredibly knowledgeable and personable, guiding me through the tasting and helping me choose a few drinks. I ended up leaving with a great selection of Mad River products. If you're a bourbon or rum enthusiast visiting the Burlington area, this spot is a must-visit!“
“The flatbread pizza and the capicola sandwich was a flavor and texture experience you're going to have to try for yourself to understand. Fresh ingredients, attention to details, lots of flavor and love which was relished with every bite! If you are looking for high quality delicatessan meats, fresh homemade crispy breads and creamy burrata you are going to love it here! Sadly, I forgot to take a photo of the most amazing Tiramisu, which was out of this world delicious! Also where else in Burlington can you enjoy your meal on an incredibly comfortable couch?“

“This place REALLY threw me for a loop… walking there I was expecting a quickie bite.. not an amazing dinner meal that even my picky husband enjoyed!
The vibe definitely did not match the level of culinary skills in the food. We got chive pancakes, they were chewy crispy and savory - perfect appetizer!
Two Asahi’s to complement our entrees:
crying tiger fried rice, the sirloin was marinated to PERFECTION! Best I’ve EVER had.
Duck Penang was an entire duck leg in a creamy delicious curry sauce with pineapples and tomatoes. So mouthwatering thinking about it now..
Staff was soooo young but SUPER hospitable and lovely! Luckily we’re not locals otherwise it’d be a weekly meal here for us!“

“Disappointed. The food was mediocre and a little pricey. Husband and son had the steak burger which was small and not very well seasoned. Wait staff was very nice. Ambiance is pleasant.“

“WOW!! All the food was absolutely amazing. I’m dairy free, my husband is not. Because of this, we normally don’t share dishes. Tonight we got only vegan/dairy free dishes and we were both blown away. The hummus, sweet potato, and seared cabbage were highlights. Will definitely be back. Can’t recommend enough. Make a reservation“

“Service was perfect amount of friendly/professional. The building updates, soft lighting, and openness of the restaurant was great. The food - ridiculous. I saw cabbage on the menu in two spots, I knew I had to try one. I got the side with garlic sauce - it was transformed into something else entirely. It should be illegal what happens to cabbage here! Over all - a wonderful and refreshingly surprising adventure with taste, texture and flavor combos. I will be back!“

“Street parking, small and cozy restaurant and reservation recommended.
Our first time there and not impressed with the food. Service was very good, cocktail was rather small for the $17 charged and had a very strong cardamom taste. Pizza was ok. Crust was a little on the soft side (partly soggy). Looks like the Verace style but far from having the same taste and texture.“

“Finding an authentic French Bistro in Burlington was not on my bingo card, but so very glad we did. Every course overdid the previous one. On the pricey side obviously, but you can’t emulate a proper french recipe with sub-par ingredients and in 15 minutes. If you want authentic French cuisine, you’d be hard pressed to find better, even in France.“

“Small and cozy bistro leaning French but also has some Italian leaning dishes and even a vegetarian African stew. Lots of options. 5+ starts for the onion soup. My husband has tried onion soup around the country for 30 years and declared this emphatically the best he has ever had. Steak frites cooked to perfection with delicious red wine demi and crispy fries. Definitely worth a trip. I'd advise a reservation they are almost always full but also do take walk ins. Right on church street so you can do a little shopping before or after your delicious meal.“

“We have been coming here since 1986 when it was a tiny spot that let us teenagers sit and drink coffee all day. They are one of Burlington’s oldest and most loved restaurants, known for their early bird Bistro dinner that serves French classics like Beef Bourgignon, Steak Frites and even gluten free Cavatappi Carbonara. Tonight it was snowing hard and the restaurant was still full and the service was terrific. It’s our go-to place for the last 35 years and I’m grateful they are still around.“

“My friend and I went for dinner… we started with the poutine, and it was excellent! My friend had the pepperoni pizza and I had the bacon avocado burger with onion rings. Both entrées were amazing! Also, we really enjoyed the margaritas. They were very fresh tasting! Everything we had was fresh and delicious. I would definitely recommend and we will definitely be going back again!“

“We had dinner at onion city for my birthday this past October (like 4 days ago). We were greeted quickly and seated. We ordered a whiskey sours and wine while we scanned the menu. I ordered a bowl of clam chowder as an appetizer, which was buttery and delightful. Dinner was a lobster roll and fish and chips. Lobster was tender and not overly dressed. Fish was lightly breaded and not over done. Staff were great, delightful and attentive. Environment is clean and cozy. Overall, had a great time. Highly recommended. We look forward to out next visit for the fried chicken sandwich. It’s got quite the reputation…. A great one. Check out Onion City. Well worth it.“
