“The texture, cor, taste, sauces, seasoning, moisture, softness of the chicken, the freshness of the vegetables, and the richness yet not too rich teriyaki sauce mixture is almost to die for! Well balanced dish (although I had extra chicken), and the atmosphere (me being alone in the restaurant felt kinda good, but it's a little forlorn). Why not many people eat at this location is beyond me, but I HIGHLY recommend eating here. True quality and real appreciation of Teriyaki. Next time, I have to try something else besides just teriyaki. :)“
“I got the number 1 Benton box. Let me tell you, it was soooo goood! Really phenomenal, everything tasted fresh and delicious. You don’t need fancy food, you just need good food. Totally worth the price, I will definitely be back. Also the chicken wasn’t drowning in teriyaki sauce, it was the perfect ratio of sauce to chicken, and it was cooked exactly right! This is my new favorite spot!“
“I'm not the biggest fan of Teriyaki but I was craving it and saw this little place on the corner street and tried it out and I was not disappointed! The food was beautifully cooked and made with love. The employees working are so friendly and patient with their customers, that's something I look for. It's probably the cleanest Teriyaki place I've ever been to. I'm highly impressed and will be going back as a happy customer!“
“It was nice when you used to be able to walk-in, but for good reason SKT has grown in popularity so I would recommend to always book a reservation or you may not get a table. It has a great mix of traditional sushi items, as well as unique offerings that we can't find elsewhere. We used to always order à la carte but recently tried the omakase and the slight variations are awesome.“
“We say goodbye to Seattle. Ending where we started! Delicious authentic Japanese cuisine (gobbled the soba and a few other treats before snapping a picture). Plus a stop for me next door to Hannyatou to say goodbye to my sake sensei, Ritsko!“
“First time for us here, celebrating our 3rd anniversary of meeting. Excellent food, service, and prices. No reservations in a really popular venue, so plan for a slight wait. Staff is awesome, and explained dishes we weren't familiar with.? The venue is noisy, so don't expect a subdued, intimate experience. We'll definitely be back!“
“Visiting my brother and he took me to his favorite casual sushi place. I can see why it’s his favorite!!!!! The service was outstanding and the servers were very attentive. It was a comforting place to be. The sushi was fresh and scrom-SHUS.“
“I have been seeing and getting food from Esther since I was a little kid! The food has always been great quality and well priced for how much food you get! I only ever come to her to get teriyaki!! She always is so amazingly generous and kind anytime I’ve gone there, always taking the extra step! As a senior in high school this scholarship helps me cover the cost of graduating and more. I will forever will always come to her!!! Thank you Esther“
“I've been here 2 times this past month and I think it's a winner. There's some Japanese food competition in Wallingford but Minato has Magee to open a quick to go donburi spot with fresh and delicious foods. The portion size is actually quite generous and they give a lot of tasty sushi rice. I liked the donburi but you can get a "parfait" too which is a nice smaller size if you just want a bit of something. I was carving unagi but I didn't want the whole donburi so the parfait was just perfect. They have a clean seating area for waiting for your order. I like the calm atmosphere on the inside. It's not a sit in place but you can order for pick up and have a nice meal at home!“
“Awesome food, great portions, and expedient service! I’ve been coming here for three years, and it’s only gotten better over time. One of the servers in particular, Claire, has always been very nice whenever I’ve come in! Love coming here, and you will too!“
“Loved the original fried chicken and veggie croquettes. The fries weren't so good, maybe cuz they got steamed in the take out container during the ride home.Parking: Not alone of spaces for all of the businesses in the strip. Many have to temporarily park in the no zone along the street.“
“Another reels recommendation. Cash and Venmo onlyWe live in issaquah so this place is quite the trek. My partner was particularly drawn in by the oversized roll with a variety of fish.Maybe I picked the wrong menu items, but overall not sure what the hype is about. The oversized roll is 30$+ so it’s not like it’s cheaper on a per serving basis. The fish was also so cold to the point where it hurt my teeth to eat (I do have sensitive teeth, but I’ve never had trouble with sushi before). Having so many different fish in a roll meant I couldn’t actually taste the individual flavors very well. I’m also not a fan of raw green onions paired with sushi. The other rolls also weren’t anything special. We got a scallop nigiri which was good tho.Overall probably won’t be driving an hour to come here again.“
“In short Solid new addition to the sushi world around here. Great service, good fish, very diverse menu. Stick with the basics and the value is excellent, but branching out is worth it too. In long This hasn't always been the most beckoning parking lot along 196th, but it's all cleaned up and open for business lately. Good chicken spot next door, where there used to be a grotty mini-mart. Just enough parking. Inside, you immediately forget you're on a main road. It's quiet, clean, well lit, well organized. You walk around past the fish case and into the dining room. Several lightweight matching tables and chairs. You immediately have menus and water. It's a neighborhoody spot rather than a specialty destination, and your first hint is that you already have both sticks and a fork on your napkin. The menu goes on for days, tightly spaced and almost every line is another item. Sashimi, maki, nigiri, teriyaki, ramen. Traditional rolls, modern ones, some creative spins from the kitchen, too. Easily 200+ items. Not much sake selection, but the prices are crazy good. Takoyaki Served very hot, plenty of filling, good flavor, nice mild dipping sauce. Good value. Tuna Tataki Great peppery flavor, served cold, nice sauce. Would love to get this again but kind of expensive ($16) for the serving size. Tiger Eyes Lots of cream cheese flavor, not much smoked salmon showing. Tasty but not super interesting. Jade roll Cucumber-wrapped rolls always sound like a nice change of pace but it's hard to get enough cuke in place to hold it together without dominating the flavors of the fish. White Scorpion roll Beautiful to look at, falls apart easily, very mild flavors. Small sashimi omakase Tasted pretty good. $20 for 8 pieces. Ironically cheaper per piece than the bigger platters. This place is neither overcharging nor offering a crazy value, at least for the dinner menu. The service was SO nice, so friendly and organized, that I'd probably come back and order more carefully. For 3 people we were out the door for $215, which is more than I'd really want to spend usually at a neighborhood spot. Having said that, I probably could have dropped $60 worth of appetizers and filled up on an extra $3 bowl of miso.“
“Omokase with Nakano-san is a truly special experience. Knowledgeable and personable, he serves a variety of tasty nigiri to delight your palate. Sit at the sushi bar for a memorable evening. When Nakano-san chooses, you try fish you might not have chosen yourself. A fun night for sushi lovers! If you can't get a seat at the bar, order a variety for the table. Staff are there to help you choose something special. Photos are from a March 2024 visit. Notice the variety of old standards and seasonal fish. Enjoy!“
“"Indulge in the essence of authentic teriyaki at its finest in the heart of the PNW, crafted by the legendary Chef Toshi since 1976."Each bite of the chicken katsu, grilled chicken, or beef unveils tender perfection, perfectly complemented by the precisely balanced sweetness of the teriyaki sauce. Accompanied by a delightful coleslaw, every dish is a symphony of flavors. With less than 13 dollars included tax (can you imagine it in 2024?), you're treated to the quintessence of Seattle's most beloved cuisine. Definitely worth driving an hour just to savor a chicken teriyaki that captures the essence and history of our city.“
“Food was fresh miso soup some of the best I've had and I usually don't care for it. We had two rolls, and it was a lot of food. I found it to be kind of pricey, but good quality food and a lot of it. the restaurant itself is a little dark and hard. It didn't feel like a sushi place but I gave it four stars because the food really was outstanding.“
“My family enjoys the Wasabi factory, the sushi has always tasted good, and my son demands we go here for it. Personally, I love the breaded chicken it's so crunchy and awesome. The staff has always been friendly and kind, especially to my kids.“
“As a sushi lover, I was so happy about the quality of seafood of the three rolls I tried. I went out of my comfort zone and tried a dish called "chawanmushi" and it was so good! The staff were friendly and knowledgable and the restaurant had a warm vibe. I will return and bring others!“
“Little loud. Great sushi for the price. Easy to seat 2 people quickly, small wait for a table if you have more people. Very friendly staff. Vegan and gluten free options. I visit every 2 weeks when I get my paycheck.Vegetarian options: Vegan optionsDietary restrictions: Gluten free options“
“As always consistent high quality meat, clean, large portions, and EXCELLENT rating w/ Health Dept, friendly owner/family. I like this teriyaki place better than teriyaki place in Eastgate which is closer to me. Whenever I’m near by the area, I always stop by… ?“
“The food is very good And they give you very good service but they are doing something very wrong with the employees. I have friends who work there and say that the tips left by customers are not given to the workers. If customers leave tips, they would have to make sure where the money they make with that money goes. They would have to talk to industrial labor so that they report that they do not want to give them that money. some do not speak for fear of losing their job but it is not fair what they do in that place with the workers“
“The grilling, freshness, juiciness, and teriyaki sauce of the chicken were excellent. It was nice that Korean-style chicken was made and sold separately from breast, tai, and wings, so you could taste different flavors. It seems like it was a godsend that there was rice cake in it.. hahaThe taste and service are top notch!A home that is sure to be visited again!“
“Food was amazing. I had a sushi date with a couple friends and we came hungry, we ordered takoyaki, gyoza, 7 rolls, and some sake and it all was delicious.Service was really nice, place is clean, it is a bit small and seating is close together, it is what it is though.“
“This restaurant is great! I usually just do takeout. We love the yakisoba and pork teriyaki. Food is great, generous portions, very friendly owner, female owner. You might have to wait when she is very busy, but well worth it. She is very entertaining and enthusiastic.“
“Possibly the best meal of my life. We dined omakase and left full and very satisfied. The cook and server were very attentive and friendly, and clearly had fun along with the customers. The food was a wonderful blend of straightforward servings of high quality fish and some more adventurous and surprising dishes such as cod milt and a yuzu scallop. Truly one to remember and I can't recommend it highly enough.“
“The sushi and sashimi were incredibly fresh, soft, and delicious! Considering the luxurious taste and freshness of the ingredients, the price was surprisingly affordable! My mom, who loves sushi, also said it was delicious and suggested we come here often!! Best sushi around my neighborhood! Worth the drive down from Lake Stevens!“
“I've been a sushi lover for years, and I can confidently say that Kamakura has completely captured my heart (and taste buds)! Walking in, you're greeted with a warm ambiance that sets the tone for a lovely experience. Let's talk about fresh, flavorful, and expertly crafted food. Every piece melts in your mouth, showcasing the chef's dedication to quality and authenticity. Whether you're a fan of traditional nigiri or adventurous rolls, they have something for everyone. Whether you're a sushi connoisseur or just looking for a local dining experience, Kamakura is an absolute must-visit.“
“This place has definitely become one of my favorite spots for coffee and bubble tea! If I could give it 100 stars, I totally would. Not only are the food and drinks amazingly delicious, but also the people who work there provide such a wonderful service and experience that makes you feel welcomed. Every time I go I try to get something different (since there are so many options), but I absolutely love the Nutella Taiyaki and the tiramisu coffee :)“
“The workers greeted us very warmly & they were all working hard & skillfully like a well oiled machine...you could tell the servers & sushi chefs were well seasoned. It was a very warm day and we were seated by the front windows, which even with the thick curtains, was still acting like a radiant heated wall! Not a big deal for me as I run cold, but if you are a hot person...this might have bothered you. I was actually wearing a tank top so I was perfect...it was double date night. The fish on sushi & sashimi platters was buttery & fresh. Lots of roll varieties too just how I like it. We started with some appetizers, nice sized shareable portions of tempura calamari & chicken karage. We also ordered agedashi tofu & veggie & shrimp temp, perfect portion sizes for a party of 4 for appetizers. No one ordered any entrees or bentos...although they look really good, we stuck to sushi. They give you a sushi list and a pen and you mark down what you want yourself...I like that too, more control on server making mistakes! I love trying ikura(salmon roe) at different restaurants to see if the chefs marinate the delicate eggs or not. I was pleasantly surprised to find this order of ikura marinated. It was slightly sweet with a hint of sake and not too salty as some restaurants will make it. This order was rich & creamy with the addition of quail egg. We ordered a small sashimi combo with salmon, yellowtail, toro & another white fish...I don't know if it was bonito or what, they didn't go over the items when they dropped the dish...but it was the one in the front on the left. They have an extensive roll list which has a ton of California based rolls topped with numerous options. All really good, but California roll base is kind of boring...maybe they could switch up the centers a little. We got Las Vegas roll...completely deep fried, yummy if you like that type of roll, Polar Bear roll, Cali roll topped with white tuna & seared salmon...YUM, a lemon salmon roll, Cali roll topped with salmon & lemon segments...they go so well together!!!! We also had a Firecracker roll which is a spicy tuna roll topped with more spicy tuna & fried minced garlic...really good with a little extra heat, maybe some jalapeños minced up in there but so tasty. We also ordered a White Christmas roll which is a shrimp tempura roll topped with white tuna, Avacado & a wasabi cream sauce...super tasty. Can't have sushi without a Spider roll & I always have an ume shiso roll...this one had lots of julienned cucumbers in it & a negihama roll to appease my clean, raw fish craving. Excellent sushi & the wait for our food was good. We had reservations & I definitely recommend taking the time to make one if you want guaranteed seating, I saw a lot of walk ins turned away or told they'd have an ample wait. If you're up north, I'd highly recommend Sushi Zen.“
“Bamboo sushi is a staple for date nights and great place to enjoy both fresh sashimi snd prepared roles. We tell people to get the green machine and rainbow roles. The hoki poki box entree is amazing. The miso soup and the edamame are great starters. Last time we were in we tried the Chirashi bowl as well which was great. The service at the bar is really quick and although we haven’t indulged, I hear their cocktails are good as well.Vegetarian options: There are multiple tasty roles and other dishes served without meat or animal products.Dietary restrictions: They will ask at the beginning of the meal and they will accommodate as necessary.Parking: There are multiple free parking lots and parking garages in the area.Kid-friendliness: This is a kid friendly establishment.Wheelchair accessibility: University place and the surrounding restaurants are all wheelchair accessible.“
“Even though I work as a manager at another restaurant, this is where I come every day. If you really love Meat and Chicken you can have a perfect meal with excellent Teriyaki sauce, great salad dressing and great soups. I love coming every day.“
“This is for their new AYCE menu. I unfortunately never had the opportunity to try Niku prior to the AYCE revamp. The price and food quality is pretty good for an AYCE BBQ place. Better service and food compared to some Korean BBQs that I’ve been to. Notable recommendations are the Karubi, Beef Tongue, and Finger meat. Then if you’re a fan of duck, definitely try the Duck Breast from the A La Carte selection. Their vegetable/sauce/side dishes area might seem small but it honestly offers core pieces at a BBQ place (veggies, rice, soup, and etc.)The 90 minute limit didn’t bother my party of 3 at all. We all enjoyed our time and the employees never rushed us or anything like that. I was pretty dang full nearing that 90 minute mark anyways.I do recommend a reservation though if you’re showing up on a Saturday night. The restaurant was pretty packed and I could tell there was quite a wait. Also the atmosphere is just great, very dim and cool ambience.Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a different AYCE BBQ place in the Aurora area. It’s a nice option since it’s closer than going over to Bellevue for Gyu-Kaku.Parking: It’s a free shared parking lot with a bunch of other stores. So you might not get a prime spot in front of the Asian Family Market. But you can park at the Hobby Lobby or LA Fitness nearby and walk on over.“
“Service was great, man was very nice. Dining in is not allowed so atmosphere not great. Rice and salad portions were large, chicken katsu was enough but small portion compared to other places. Chicken didn't look appetizing. Drove out of my way based on ratings, not worth it. Wish I could post pics.“
“This is our go to for teriyaki, only done takeout cuz it’s a easy dinner/lunch on a work day. Best bang for your buck with decent quality food. For $16 you get teriyaki/katsu with salad, 4 pieces of California roll and side of tempura plus miso soup! When pho prices are $12~18 nowadays, this place is GREAT value. The people who works there are always nice and work quickly.“
“My first time at Akane Ramen left a positive impression. The place has a calm and well-maintained atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a meal. The service was efficient and fast, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. While I added extra spice to my ramen, it may have masked some of the broth's flavors. Overall, it's a good spot to dine in.Vegetarian options: Vegan options available“
“Great place if you're looking for a local sushi bar. It's not going to win any international awards, but for a Lynnwood sushi restaurant, it is very good. The owners are always pleasant and helpful, as said in some other reviews, the decor isn't bad, it was just done by the owners and isn't fancy or high end. Perfect spot to go for lunch or dinner, always room, never packed or uncomfortable, great proverbial hole in the wall that serves good food, it's clean, and the people are nice.Edit: I am giving the food here 4 stars based on living in Okinawa and eating some of the best sushi in the world. For a US restaurant, the sushi here is top notch. Don't let the 4 start rating fool you onto thinking this isn't a great sushi spot.“
“One of our longtime favorite sushi restaurants, Sam's is always delicious. On our recent trip, we enjoyed nigiri, bento box, and udon soup--it was all outstanding. This restaurant is wheelchair accessible. Street parking is hit and miss (no parking lot unfortunately). Now that bento now comes with maguro (tuna) instead of hamashi, but the wait staff graciously provided hamachi (yellowtail) this time only. We'll be back!Kid-friendliness: family friendlyWheelchair accessibility: Door is wide enough, but needed help opening (old building). Ramp just inside was wide, easy to walk down. Regular tables, able to wheel up to one. Didn't use the rest room. No handicap parking but you may find street parking nearby. We found a place out front, there's an old ramp right here too (former loading dock?). Staff was pleasant and helpful.“
“My first time was last week and I'm going back there again so does that tell you anything spicy chicken breast gyoza and miso soup everything was delicious and can't wait to try something else and the people there are very nice!!!“
“I’ve been going to I ❤️ Teriyaki since 2018 and it’s consistently held up as one of my favorite teriyaki places in Seattle. It’s a neighborhood staple and a popular lunch spot. Good family-owned small business to support. The owners are so sweet and friendly. They use fresh meat and the portions are generous.“
“I got the chicken katsu. It was crispy and the oil was really clean! They also gave me a ton of rice and salad. if you’re wondering from the picture, I got no dressing and turned the chicken over a little bit but otherwise that’s what you’ll get if you order here. I brought my own garlic sauce from teriyaki bistro in issaquah which may be tacky but it took the meal from a 10/10 to a 13/10 ?“
“The inside is like mixing up between jazz vinyl and traditional Japanese restaurant theme. The light is quite dim, and the overall feeling is unique (or distracted?).I like the raw fishes they served. I would like to try pieces of sushi next time.Tempura is okay. Not that great but not that bad neither.Udon is pretty...different than usual flavor. It's more like seafood-ish which is from bonito broth according to their description. I didn't like that much personally.“
“The chicken teriyaki and the short rib teriyaki were as good as anywhere I've tried before. It's pretty affordable at around $10 for a "half" size, which is good for a respectably hearty snack before or after hitting the bars. I will definitely be back.“
“Restaurant was spotless and had nice dining room with complimentary yummy hot tea. Food was served within 5 minutes and it was so delicious and so fresh. I interacted with two staff members there, one man and one woman, and they were both so friendly and accommodating. Dined in for lunch and then got another order of food to go for dinner. It was that good! The cherry on top: a restroom you are actually allowed to use without needing a code or any other ridiculous restriction of use. I hope they stay on Aurora for a long time.Vegetarian options: No tofu unfortunately but veggie options for any dish“
“I absolutely love this place. I used to be a Musashi's follower, but I got tired of feeling like they were doing me a favor by serving me. Kozue welcomes you and honestly has amazing, fresh fish! Their sushi chef really knows what he is doing. Do yourself a favor and give it a try.“
“Good terriayaki, constantly the same everyday! I have eaten more terriayaki than most people, I know teriyaki, and I'm just starting to share my thoughts because I have some extra time in my life. One thing you can expect from this place is constantancy in their food. The teriyaki chicken is juicy, and not rubbery meaning they know how to grill it!. The spicy chicken is cooked with love by infusioning their spicy sauce by wok and adding fresh cut onions, just by taking the time to wok it tells you they are not lazy. The other things on their menu are decent and is above the standards in Seattle's terriayaki world.Serving size is decent, and you will have a little extra if you are the average person with a appetiteThe only issue I have is price. You decide for yourself......I ordered:1 spicy chicken1 terriayaki chicken1 order gyoza2 coke bottlesCost= $46.80“
“High quality and tasty rolls! Had the Salmon Lemon, Shrip tempura, Spider rolls. Fresh ingredients and excellent portions. Also tried the spicy ramen which was delicious and very well presented in the bowl. Kids had the Katsu Don and gobbled it up. Servers were attentive and overall inviting. Will come again!“
“i love coming here me and my mom come very often on fridays. We love the sushi!! its ssooo good!! basically the food me and my mom have tried is super good! i really like the sexy roll and my mom really likes the spider roll! we also love the beef teriyaki or spicy chicken! The place is super clean and pretty! i love coming here?“
“First time at Toshi’s Teriyaki. I ordered 21, Teriyaki Spicy Garlic Chicken. I took a bite and the chicken was juicy and quite tender. The rice is very moist. Presentation could be better but it’s a Teriyaki place lol. Overall, I would definitely come back for more!“
“After driving around 20 minutes to try a new teriyaki spot because the two teriyaki places I usually go around Silver Lake / Mill Creek area was closed, I think I might've found my #1 place! I ordered spicy chicken, which came with miso soup and salad. Firstly, the taste was not your typical "teriyaki chicken" that comes in a to go box. They serve the chicken in a foil to keep it warm. Chicken tasted like it was freshly grilled (not sitting in a warmer), which I did wonder how it was going to be given I ordered an hour before closing. The first bite was like holy crap, wow, this is sooo dang good! There were like 3-5 different crazy flavors hitting my taste buds at once. The spicy sauce it came with was something I've never tasted before. After looking at their menu online with more detail, I've come to realize that this place wasn't just a teriyaki spot, but a unique, hole in the wall restaurant that served Korean rice bowls (bibimpap), bento boxes, and sushi - all fused with amazing Korean sauce flavors! They also have Korean fried chicken as well, which made sense. Even the salad was amazing because of their dressing. Like they say, it's all about the sauce, and Gold Chicken definitely has their "Magic Sauce!". I'm absolutely going back to try rest of their menu. It's kind of hard to find this place. It's tucked away in the corner of Target's giant parking lot. I think if the location was more visible to the street, this place for sure will be gold!“
“There’s a reason this place is 4.5+ stars plus right now — good sized portion, food made fresh to order and friendly service! Nice mom and pop shop — chicken teriyaki was nicely grilled thigh meat with just the right amount of sauce (not too much)! Chicken Katsu was made fresh. The inside is also super super cleanConvenient location — just west off the 179 exit on I5“
