“I have been dying to come here and let me tell you the entire place does not disappoint!! The food was sooooooo tasty and look so good at the same time. The portion size is super generous. The inside of the this place is absolutely adorable. And the workers are super gentle. I had such a good time here. This is going to be on my " must come back " list“
“Good meal. Service was very good. I was hoping I could say “great”, but when compared to other experiences at places like Sawada, Kyubey, Yasuda, Nakazawa, etc, it’s just ok. Don’t get me wrong - we enjoyed ourselves but it was overpriced when compared to the greats.“
“The slogan of this restaurant is "the best teriyaki in town" and it is SO TRUE. I've tried a lot of teriyaki in the south end, Georgetown and West Seattle and this place stands out for its high-quality taste and freshness, as well as cleanliness of the facility and the kindness of the staff. This is literally the only place I want teriyaki from in Seattle. A+!!!!!“
“French food influence by Japanese flavor. Menu changes often by seasonal items. Ingredients are fresh and good. All dishes are very neat and delicious. Chef's recommended wine also harmonizes with all foods. Beautiful views entertained us during dinner.“
“This was my first time going to this store and it seems like a lot of people go there. The cream is smooth and delicious, and the strawberries are sweet. The tonkatsu and shrimp tempura sandwiches were also delicious. I bought 4 sandwiches and it came to about $25.“
“I've been eyeing this place since they opened. Finally had the opportunity to check it out. My wife and I ordered 6 items for take out. The fish for all the rolls were fresh and everything was tasty! I took a look at the interior when I picked up my food and man... it looks like a fancy sushi restaurant in Seattle! I'm a big fan and we'll be returning soon!!! Someone complained about them being "overpriced" they're probably used to eating gas station sushi for 4.99. the price for their food is very fair and it's 100Xs fresher. Don't listen to those clowns.“
“This place has a legendary status to generations of people. My husband grew up going there and his dad showed several other people he knew when he was young too. And every single person my husband has told about this place has become a regular. I was resistant at fist because I'm not crazy about red meat anymore, and the moo yang is what everyone says is the best (it is super good). But I get the gai yang (chicken) and it is just unlike anything else I've ever had. Whoever opened this restaurant long ago had a vision from God above who said "go now, my child, fill the hearts and bellies of people off of 167 for generations", and so it was done. Praise be.“
“We go twice a month and every time I love it here even more. The presentation of the food is incredible and it tastes even better. The people that work here are so great at what they do, the service is top tier. Watching the guys at the sushi bar.. it's art and they are so fun to talk to. Best miso and karaage I've ever had!! The line seems long when you walk in sometimes but they get you seated in under 10 minutes.Absolutely worth it to check it out!!Bento box is my favorite way to go “
“Food was super filling and tasted great! Even having only a burger I didn’t even think I could finish it because of how full I got. I had the Chai milkshake too and I loved it. Service was great and our server was super nice and generous, and the restaurant itself was very cute and had cool decor. Definitely will be coming back sometime!“
“Bamboo sushi is a staple for date nights and great place to enjoy both fresh sashimi snd prepared roles. We tell people to get the green machine and rainbow roles. The hoki poki box entree is amazing. The miso soup and the edamame are great starters. Last time we were in we tried the Chirashi bowl as well which was great. The service at the bar is really quick and although we haven’t indulged, I hear their cocktails are good as well.Vegetarian options: There are multiple tasty roles and other dishes served without meat or animal products.Dietary restrictions: They will ask at the beginning of the meal and they will accommodate as necessary.Parking: There are multiple free parking lots and parking garages in the area.Kid-friendliness: This is a kid friendly establishment.Wheelchair accessibility: University place and the surrounding restaurants are all wheelchair accessible.“
“I've been a sushi lover for years, and I can confidently say that Kamakura has completely captured my heart (and taste buds)! Walking in, you're greeted with a warm ambiance that sets the tone for a lovely experience. Let's talk about fresh, flavorful, and expertly crafted food. Every piece melts in your mouth, showcasing the chef's dedication to quality and authenticity. Whether you're a fan of traditional nigiri or adventurous rolls, they have something for everyone. Whether you're a sushi connoisseur or just looking for a local dining experience, Kamakura is an absolute must-visit.“
“Not a frequent reviewer but I wanted to highlight this place. I came in knowing I was allergic to seafood (wife wanted sushi) and was a bit worried on what I could order. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how accommodating the owner was! He made sure there was no cross-contamination when making my order and was very kind the whole time. I ordered the teriyaki chicken and pork combo which was amazing. Would recommend if you're in the area!“
“Good interesting food.Just be careful if you don't like onions as they will linger all day. There were a lot.I would also recommend not getting fries to go. We ate there and the fries were delicious for the first 5 minutes until they started getting cold.“
“I've said many time teriyaki ain't my bag, but it's close to Chinese and with the lack of Chinese restaurants sometimes you have to compromise. The reviews for this place are near flawless , so I decided to give them a try. This place is off 3rd, and for anyone that drives third, you know traffic is thick and you are trying to find a lane to get through and not get caught by a light. So in the decades I've live here, I've never seen this place because 3rd is one way and no one has time to be checking their review view. Tiny spot, but clean and modern. I got a lunch special and asked for soup. The girl didn't charge me for soup, so either I got lucky, or they just don't advertise it. Miso was delicious and the food came pretty quick after. I had chicken an gyoza, it came with a couple small scoops of rice and salad. The salad was pretty sad, without a doubt the weakest side salad I've been served. No veggies, just lettuce and the dressing was watered down. I like places that serve a sesame ginger dressing, it really wakes up your taste-buds. The gyoza was really good. I would have likes it steamed and fried better than deep fried, but everyone is lazy these days. The chicken could have been a little more flavorful and moist, but it wasn't horrible. I'm going to assume they make their own sauce, It wasn't too sweet, but it had a different flavor. In the end, this place is better than the average spot, but it's not life changing and that what the current score eludes to. I think this place is a 3, leaning towards 3.5, but since Yelp doesn't allow half ratings, I rounded up because service was so good. That said, I'll probably come back to try the Chinese dishes. And I don't regret coming in today.“
“Super busy spot with tasty matcha soft serve and cake rolls. The soft serve and parfaits are quite expensive for what they are, but it doesn't seem to deter enough people to have the store be less busy. The white mochi in my soft serve was not sweetened and added some good contrast to the ice cream. The soft serve and cake were both lightly sweetened (Asian dessert style), not cloying at all. I hope to be back to try the black sesame items someday.“
“Momoya is my favorite sushi restaurant. Fish is always so fresh, sushi is exquisite *chef's kiss*, service is always timely and friendly. I love coming here to celebrate and for the occasional dinner treat.Food is soo good I came here two days in a row!“
“Stop in on a chance while I was towing cars in the neighbourhood. It was really really good, Wish I had more time to enjoy it. I was in a hurry with the food. It was made fast service was great definitely going to stop back in and check out some of the rest of the menue In the future. Thank “
“Splurge and get the Japanese wagyu beef skewers - you'll think you died and went to heaven. They melt in your mouth, succulent, perfectly grilled, they're well worth $18. The cocktails are strong, tasty, interesting, service is great, the restaurant is impeccably clean.....Parking: As evening goes on, parking fills up....Kid-friendliness: Not really a place for kids“
“Ordered beef teriyaki with a side of gyoza because I was stuck on mercer island for a few hours but pho is obviously their specialty. The rice and gyoza were good but the beef abd sauce were sub par imo compared to dedicated teriyaki places. It wasn’t bad but definitely different if you're looking to satisfy a teriyaki craving this is only about 75% there.“
“As far as sushi options at this price point go in Bellevue this is a great spot. I prefer this to japonessa or kobe around the same price point. High quality rolls - ordered spider, unagi, and spicy hamachi, all very good and well rolled. Would order all 3 again. It's not top tier sushi and isn't priced like it, I found a lot of value at the price point.“
“Wonderful little hole in the wall restaurant with very well made and inexpensive sushi, teriyaki etc. The service is fast and very professional.Vegetarian options: There are some tasty vegetarian options.Wheelchair accessibility: There’s a ramp“
“Sooooooooooo good! Better than Japan honestly! And I’m born and raised in Japan! They don’t cheap out on fruits! You get fruits in every bite all the way down the crepe. And look at it! The presentation of the crape itself is amazing! Well done to the beautiful people I met making these pieces of art! Picture perfect crapes! 1000/10!!!! ?yum!“
“The food is outstanding and the service is impeccable. The daily sheet often features surprises (and recently, probably the best sashimi treasure I’ve ever tried). And although I’m usually all about the fish, the veggie omakase really blew my mind.“
“This place food is always great and fresh. Recently tried their goemon bento with teriyaki chicken and tempura shrimp. Everything was delicious. Tempura was so crispy and light. Each accompaniment was good. And how come people are not taking about their cheese cake slices, it tasted light, less on sugar and wow!“
“Our experience at Jae's Asian Bistro and Sushi was elevated by the exceptional service provided by Kyle and Zack . From the moment we were seated, his warm welcome and genuine hospitality set the tone for the evening. Kyle displayed impressive menu knowledge, offering insightful recommendations and ensuring our dining experience was memorable. His attention to detail, seamless service, and friendly demeanor made our evening truly special. If you're dining at Jae's, I highly recommend requesting Kyle or Zack for an outstanding experience.“
“At first I was a bit skeptical, given it is a sushi restaurant in the middle of the suburbs. It is a nice and clean restaurant. I will say when dining in, the experience was better than any other sushi restaurants I have been to. Right when you are seated, they offered complimentary hot towels (to wipe your hands) and miso soups (that are amazingly good). We're big fans of seared salmon nigiri and it is a typically what we order when eating sushi, I can say that they were spot on! Good size pieces of quality fish. With the right amount of sauces. And the presentation was great! The food was pretty quick as well. Their service was friendly. Apart from their dine in experience, I have also ordered a bulgogi and California rolls to go. Still exceeded expectations, and was delicious! 10/10 would highly recommend!“
“A hidden gem - Nishino boasts excellent service and such kind chefs and owners! Definitely a little expensive compared to other sushi spots in the city but I can say I’ve never had fresher fish before. Omakase was a great deal as well. Great for a special occasion or date night.“
“TL;DR: lines at opening. The curry is really good! Try the Kabocha Fries. On the spendy side, good date night spot.Parking: very small shared lot. Expect to street park during peak hours--you may have to walk a ways.Atmosphere: cozy diner feel with bar, bar tables, booths, dining tables. Not really accommodating for extra large parties.Service: pretty popular space so expect lines to form before opening. Wait to be seated, you will be watered, menu brought to you, check brought to you, box your own leftovers upon request.Menu: two descriptive pages with minimal images. There are different cuts of pork to choose from so read the descriptions carefully before choosing which one to go with your meal. Plates are a bit on the spendy side but it is very filling.Kid Friendliness: not very accommodating in terms of entertainment for little kids, high chairs available upon request, no kids menu.Kabocha Fries: it's pumpkin-like squash slices that are breaded, fried and seasoned. Very tasty!Katsu Curry Set: the meal set comes with shredded cabbage, miso soup, and a tiny dish of pickled veggies. Oh man the curry is really good. It's not spicy at all and the pickled veggies go really well with it! Who knew dark chocolate could add so much richness?! The cabbage that it comes with goes really well with the provided dressings on the table (I like the light brown sesame dressing best). Miso soup wasn't really anything to write home about but it is a nice palate cleanser along with the shredded cabbage.Kurobuta: tasty cut of pork that isn't chewy and is not dry at all! Excellent with the curry! Love the crunch and dipping it in curry.“
“The absolute best local sushi/Japanese restaurant in issaquah/sammamish. We're here once a week and the team never disappoints.Service: even when it's busy, we're greeted by a friendly hostess and the sushi chefs. The drinks and food orders are quick and precise.Presentation: is exceptional. The sushi rolls are well presented and salmon combo (our favorite) always looks delicious. Now onto the best part: the food. The tempura is always light and crispy, gyoza is crunchy and filling is tasty. Our mains consist of a sushi roll, salmon combo, sashimi and kids bento. All of it is well portioned (we don't leave hungry!) And fresh fresh fresh! My picky 6yo learned to eat sushi here and will only accept zushi salmon roll! That's the best testament to how well done the plates are here. The specials, like the sashimi ball or crispy butterflied shrimp, are a great balance of flavors. I'm particular about too much sauce and it's never an issue here.We love coming here and highly recommend it to all our friendsKid-friendliness: My kids love it here. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The team welcomes the whole family when we arrive, not just the adults. It makes my kids feel welcomed and they're relaxed throughout the meal, leaving the parents to enjoy dinner too“
“I love everything about this place! the owners, the food, the hospitality, the atmosphere! my partner and I stumbled upon this place a few years ago and now we go every chance we get! delicious sushi, amazing sauces, huge menu. love love love!“
“Second time going to the restaurant because I was quite impressed on the first visit. On the second visit, we ordered sushi assortment. Everything tasted great except Uni; Uni tasted very bad and rotten with smell of toilet. I wish the chef checks on the freshness of the ingredients more carefully. Probably won't visit this place for a while.“
“Someone at work sent me a photo of their meal and I knew I had to try this place myself. I love their chicken katsu. Most places aren’t breaded well or get soggy. I typically don’t order it for that reason. They understand that katsu is supposed to be crunchy and they make sure it stays crunchy until you can sit down and eat it. I’m not a huge fan of katsu sauce but pairing it with their garlic sauce is so good. I have yet to try their spicy chicken, but I can’t eat spicy food like I used to. Rice portion is a little less than other places. They are super friendly and I’ve recommended this place to everyone at work.“
“Super fast - 10 minutes from sitting down to polishing off these delicious avocado and cucumber rolls! Absolutely divine, service was excellent. The German opera playing in the background was an unexpected surprise but I enjoyed it all the same. Will definitely be back.“
“Always open like their hours say and ALWAYS high quality teriyaki. It is My favorite Teriyaki place in south center/ Seattle area. When I first moved here many teriyaki places had poor quality consistently across the board or closed really early. Thanks you guys ?“
“Not gonna try to be a food critic here because if you know the greater Seattle area, you know we don’t have good, quality, authentic shabu. Service was fantastic, atmosphere was clean and understated, appetizers (karaage and tuna on crispy rice) were excellent. Both shabu and sukiyaki were authentic, high quality ingredients, and came with clear and abundant options.“
“Our favorite Japanese restaurant on the east side. Some of our favorite items include the kabocha fried rice, chicken katsu dinner, mackerel / saba, albacore tataki salad, any of the sushi and tempura. It can get busy here for dinner on the weekend, so I suggest reservations.“
“Great solid place to go and eat. The service is always really good. Quality of food is wonderful. Close to home so when I need a quick meal that appeals to the whole fam, we go here. Never once been disappointed. Just wish they would go back to delivering to my home like they did back in the good 'ol days. (I don't like using Uber or the other service delivery outfits.) Cheers!!!!“
“We liked this place overall. The sushi was pretty good quality, we got 6 rolls. Our favorite was the spicy tuna and shrimp tempura. They did mess up and give us a vegetable roll instead of a California roll but they gave us the right roll for free. The place is a bit small and cramped but for the price and quality of sushi it is definitely worth it!“
“We love going here to eat, it’s nice and fancy but not too pricey and has good sushi. We liked the Sweet Sensation, Mexican ninja, Seattle crunch and skin on skin (in that order). I think the value in a well made California roll is underestimated and oh did they make a mean spicy California roll. Edamame was good too. Not the biggest fan of the scorpion sting and Barcelona sunset.Note: happy hour EVERYDAY (even Saturday) after 9pm and some other midday time. Highly recommend Japonessa.“
“My gf and I love Shaburina. Its our go to spot for hot pot not only because the food is so good but because Terrance (the owner) is extremely hospitable and personable. We leave as very happy customers and are satisfied each time we visit. Solomun, our server was also extremely friendly and checked on us frequently. You can tell by the way he interacts with each table that he genuinely wants you to have a memorable dining experience. 5 stars.“
“A step ahead of most teriyaki places. The staff were very friendly and upbeat. Teriyaki and brisket were absolutely delicious and I'd say better than toshi's or bistro down the hill. The salad is actually a salad with all sorts of good stuff and and NOT a bunch of lettuce with ranch, I really appreciate that. All for 12$ too. I highly recommend this place.“
“A true five star place. Had the spicy miso ramen, so much flavor and such high quality for 20 bucks in an age when jack in the box costs 16, will definitely be back!Wheelchair accessibility: All one room with no steps and there is a bar where wheelchairs could be placed allowing you to sit alongside friends“
“My partner really liked his food. He says the teriyaki chicken and gyoza was delicious. Pictured is honey garlic chicken. I wasn't sure I was going to like it and I didn't really, but I think my partner would go back again for more!“
“Food here are amazing!! All the sushi rolls and udon we had were outstanding! Highly recommend fried oysters appetizer! Hiyashi Wakame seaweed salad was great too. Service was great, friendly staff and they have a really nice atmosphere. I'm excited to go again with our friends this week. This place is not an average sushi restaurant. If you want good quality sushi, I highly recommend!“
“Reasonably priced and deliciously fresh fish. The yuzu kosho on top elevates it to the next level. Wanted to eat in but it's a very small restaurant and it was pretty crowded. They gave me some extra condiments as an apology for not being able to seat me. Would definitely return!“
“We had the Katsu Don and the Odun and spring rolls. Everything was delicious! The staff was super friendly and very attentive. The restaurant had a very sleek clean look. Prices were reasonable. Would definitely recommend this fine dining experience.“
“I love eating teriyaki and I've been to several places all around the greater Seattle area. Teriyaki Box in Renton has a unique teriyaki sauce and great salad dressing sauce too. The service is friendly and fast and the tables are clean. The prices are reasonable for what you get and I would definitely come back again.“
“Fast, yummy and a great lunch spot. We had a group of 8 of us come in and they got our order to us in about 15 min which I was very inpressed with. Their food was well flavored and yummy. I’d stick with the teriyaki myself. The katsu was very well done as well and a giant quantity.“
“Always a great site for drinks, food and very family friendly too for all ages until l000PM. Hawaiian/Polynesian decorations are beyond great and the food be it Hawaiian based or Sushi based with a really nice Sushi counter there too, is beyond awesome. Plus, I love the Karaoke Friday nights where it is nice to sing with children and or enjoy how talented many of our young ones are. I have not experienced family karaoke one night a week since Shakey's pizza in Burien used to do it 20 to 30 years ago. Trust me, if if you're single, or a fun, nice place to eat, excellent service, staff and good food, check it out.“
“Sushi chef made polite conversation and the servers checked in on me often in a friendly polite manner. At first I hesitated to get the rice with my chirashi bowl. But so glad I did, it was just as delicious as all of the raw plump fishes. Sooo yummy and delicious.“
