The server was so nice that I wanted to tip her, but stoic in that she hit the no tip button while my finger was aiming for the 30%. I got the plain soup and a while sized meal. Came with mac salad, salad, kimchi, 3 sauces, a drink, and 2 scoops of rice. I ended up mixing some with the soup and it was an amazing meal. “This place is a bit tricky to find — there’s no outside signage at all, and parking can be a hassle, but trust me, it’s worth the effort.
The building looks like it was converted from an old office, and the interior is very plain and cafeteria-style with big, simple tables and no frills. But that just means there’s plenty of room to sit and enjoy your meal without feeling cramped.

The roasted chicken is absolutely fabulous — juicy, perfectly seasoned, and full of flavor. The real stars are the green and white sauces — they’re addictive! They give you plenty of both, which I love. They also pile on a huge serving of french fries (nothing fancy, but you’ll definitely get your carb fix).

I really enjoyed their fresh chicha morada (the purple corn drink). It’s not overly sweet here, which makes it super refreshing and tasty — exactly how I like it.

If you’re craving real Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken and don’t mind a no-frills setting, this spot delivers big time. Highly recommended!“

We also ordered the fried pickle jar and highly recommend that appetizer! We saved our leftovers for the next day and it went just as hard! Amazing hospitality from this establishment and the vibe was so country it felt like we were back home in Texas! “I’m from Dallas, TX and have had a hard time finding true southern BBQ in this entire state! Except Pete’s! Now, I’ve had great smoked brisket and other great smoked culinary experiences, but this one is the most Southern. What I mean is that the coleslaw is excellent with a medium shred, not too large or chopped too small, and an even amount of dressing. The sweet cornbread muffins with honey-butter straight from cast-iron are amazing. The pickle slices are even a culinary delight, sitting next to raw onions and a plethora of BBQ sauces to choose from. Oh, and free ice-cream cones if you even have room left to fill (we did not, lol). I could go on about the sweet tea, baked beans, slow-smoked ribs, shredded smoked pork, sausage, chicken, and desserts but…Just bring your appetite and try it for y’all’s selves! ;)“

We ordered our usual of: -Vietnamese Sweet & Sour Catfish Soup -Catfish in Clay Pot/Stew -Rice Today we also tried: -Crispy Oysters -Salted Fish Fried Rice -Three Color Dessert -Thai Dessert It wasn't too busy today, we got a table right away for a family of our. The servers were nice and friendly. Our desserts were bought out first, and soon after the main dishes. Our usual dishes is the tasty as usual. Our favorite as a family is the fried oysters. Our young kids liked it best with the sweet sauce (not spicy). The sizing of the oysters are large and it tasted excellent. Overall, it was a wonderful dining night with the whole family. “This family-owned Chinese BBQ restaurant is such a gem! Be prepared for long lines, but it’s absolutely worth the wait. Seating is limited inside, with only about 4–5 tables, so plan ahead to come early or get them to-go.

I got the 3-item BBQ combo with roast duck, roast pork, and soy sauce chicken over a warm bed of rice and veggies. Everything was so well made and flavorful. The roast duck had great flavor, the roast pork was crispy and juicy, and the soy sauce chicken was well seasoned. The portion was generous, and the price was very reasonable for the quality.

The staff were also very friendly, which made the experience even better. This has officially become my new go-to spot for Chinese BBQ. I’ll definitely be back for more!“

“First time going, had a great experience. So much food, all you can eat for just $40. The Garlic Chicken and Spicy marinated Pork were our top two favorites. But everything we got was great. Got also the Beef brisket (which they give you a lot), the Spicy marinated Shrimp, and the Spicy marinated Chicken. For two people who are hungry, only 4-5 meat dishes needed. They do not let you take any leftovers home unfortunately. Even if you cook it. Also got their fried rice, the Kimchi Soup (really good), and the Cold Noodle dish (not that great, or just not our favorite thing compared to everything else and was unnecessary). It was my husband's first time having Korean BBQ, so was fun and he really enjoyed getting to cook his own meat and he loved everything and how much we got.“

“We chose Ola Mae’s Southern Barbecue to cater our wedding a couple weeks ago in August and we would absolutely use them again!
The food was amazing! Our guests raved about it for days and still say it was the best pulled pork they’ve ever had. Everything was fresh and flavorful, no dried out food, like a lot of weddings tend to serve.
We went with a buffet style for about 130 guests and there was lots of options to please multiple dietary restrictions. We LOVED the salad and potato bar option, our vegetarian friends really appreciated the baked potato bar and said they were a fantastic and unique choice.
The only minor things that seemed to be missing was we wished there was some au jus for the prime rib (which was still delicious) and we had been looking forward to his sweet tea, but didn’t seem to get any beverages. I also wish that more had been saved aside for the bride and groom (especially since we were the ones who paid for it). It was nice that we had pre-dished up plates ready for us before the buffet line (which was great), but we weren’t able to get anything additional and we missed out on the appetizers since they started right after the ceremony. We had been looking forward to trying the deep fried catfish but never were able to. Everyone who got to try it, said it was amazing though!

Overall, Anthony was very communicative and went above and beyond leading up to the big day. He offered a ton of services, such as dishwear and linens, that made the day stress free and a breeze and everything was beautiful and so delicious! Absolutely helped to make our big day memorable.

My only complaints Is that we wished we had packed up left overs (if there even was any left) because we were craving his food later in the night and all the next day. We also wish he had a regular restaurant for us to frequent, because we crave his food still! It would be amazing if he had a “pop up” kitchen with pre-order services for us to pick up, I would absolutely sign up for a newsletter/email list and really hope that he offers pick-up options leading into the holidays!

“We had the ginger chicken and house fried rice. This place is one of the only Chinese restaurant left in Beacon Hill. This says a lot considering this use to be a Chinese neighborhood. The food is classic Chinese American. We will definitely be going back to contributing to their preservation. The first time we had it was at a catered event. I’m glad we went back. It’s an old school classic. Supporting or neighbors will be a joy. Can’t wait to try the chow mein.“

One of the staff members waited around and was going to wait until I remembered to get my food. When I tell you, I was humbled and emotional that someone would wait around on their own holiday to make sure my family had food made me feel something I hadn’t felt in a long time. We live in this fast pace, high-tech world, where we forget the humanity of people. We forgot that we belong to a community and that it is our responsibility to care for one another. This stranger cared so much and even put my families meal above his own holiday. I apologize profusely and he wouldn’t hear of it. It was a beautiful human moment that made me realize what the holidays are actually about. We shook hands and I wished him a Merry Christmas. This is a small, family owned, black-owned business and they reflect the integrity, the care and the quality that goes into our food in our culture. I will be loyal for the rest of my life. The meal was impeccable and we still talk about it. We use Jones barbecue for our parties, our holidays, Super Bowl; everything. It’s hard as a small business to make it and stay alive so we need people to support this incredible family own business. They have been around since 1989. You will not be disappointed.“

“They were the caterers for my friend wedding, I helped pace the order and was the one to pick the food up. They did a great job with the food, it was a massive order. The whole pig was a huge hit and delicious. All the food came out great, they had everything ready when I got there, and they were quite thorough in checking the order and even helped me take everything to the car and load it up.
