“We were staying in a hotel across the street and we were all very tired after a log plane ride and the Mariners baseball game. We didn't want to walk a long way so we tried the restaurant in this casino. What a pleasant surprise. Out of seven people we all had great food. (Breakfast is served all day) 2 people ordered the pancake combo with 2 eggs and choice of meat. One had the biscuits and gravy. One had French toast. One had fish and chips. And the next 2 shared the chicken strip dinner. Everything was delicious. The service was friendly and fast. Would definitely recommend giving this place a try.

On a side note... it is really not a casino in the traditional thought of a casino. It is more like a card room because there are not any slot machines.“

“I ordered the jumbo coconut shrimp which was very good with the cucumber salad, but I would suggest light dressing on the salad. It becomes overwhelming after a while. The jasmine rice was perfectly cooked and my frosted lemonade was delicious! After tax $30, but that price is kinda expected in an airport. And there's no seating, but they are right next to the food court seating which has multiple plug-in tables to charge your devices.“

“After having been to Driftwood twelve times I can confidently say it’s the only restaurant in Seattle worth dining at.  Lots of places make claims about freshness and local ingredients, but chef Dan Mallahan shops at the Farmers Market two days a week. It’s not a joke or a gimmick. If you want to eat food grown exclusively in Washington State, that tastes real, then Driftwood is the spot. They serve tomatoes that actually have flavor, delicious veggie dishes, and meat and fish that are tender and juicy. They combine so many flavors in a subtle harmony making each bite you take delightful. Not to mention the killer cocktails.  The vibe is beautiful but chill. The staff are lovely and kind. “Great little spot in Des Moines WA--quaint little area too. Clam chowder is amazing, crab linguini = amazing, and the big combo platterhas all the great fried seafood flavors you want! We also got the lobster tail dimner with a loaded baked potato = delicious. Very nice/attentive server too! There's also a bar!! We got a lot to share so we probably spent more than most would. “Decor is standard ivar’s, so I gave it a default 5 stars. Food is as expected, nicely fried seafood. The Asian lady frying the food seems very on top of things and open to helping the cashier when she has a spare moment. She seems more invested than she should be, so that’s good, right? They also bring your order out to you. I’m used to them calling your name and you have to get your order at the counter. So services is above par for an Ivar’s.

Came here for a family-style Chinese dinner and everything we ordered was excellent. The biggest thing that stood out was how well everything was cooked. Seafood stayed moist and tender, vegetables kept their crunch, and the meats were juicy and flavorful.

1. Stir-Fried Cauliflower with Pork & Black Fungus — 5/5
The cauliflower stayed fresh and crunchy instead of becoming soft or soggy. The pork was tender, and the black fungus added another nice crunchy texture. Simple dish, but cooked very well.

2. Steamed Whole Fish with Ginger & Green Onion — 5/5
One of my favorites. The fish was steamed perfectly and stayed incredibly moist and tender. The ginger, green onion, and soy sauce complemented the natural flavor of the fish without overpowering it.

3. Sweet & Sour Pork — 5/5
Really good balance of sweet and tangy flavor. The pork stayed juicy inside while still having a nice texture on the outside. The sauce coated everything well without completely drowning the pork.

4. Steamed Oysters with Black Bean, Garlic & Green Onion — 5/5
The oysters were big, plump, juicy, and cooked just right. I especially liked the black bean and garlic combination. Lots of flavor while still allowing you to taste the oyster itself.

5. Roast Duck — 5/5
The duck was juicy, tender, and full of flavor. Most importantly, it wasn't dry. The skin had a nice roasted texture while the meat underneath stayed moist.

6. Shredded Chicken with Egg — 5/5
Very tender and flavorful. The shredded chicken stayed moist, and the egg added another soft texture to the dish. Everything worked really well together.

Every dish was 5/5 for me. What impressed me most was the consistency of the cooking. The fish and oysters stayed moist, the meats stayed juicy and tender, and the vegetables still had their fresh crunch.

Definitely a place I'd come back to for another family-style Cantonese dinner.“

The patio was packed with locals from the East African community, and not a single hipster in sight, so I HAD to check it out. Glad I did. Took home some amazing spicy lamb tibs and it was so good I just had to take my partner here for dinner a few nights later. She was impressed as she ordered what I had the last time, and I had the Keye Wott (which was nice and spicy but not too spicy). Looks to be a family run joint, and the staff just loved that I came back and brought my partner here. Highly recommended.“
