“My husband I have lived in the area for many years and finally decided to try the Friday fish fry at the hotel restaurant. What an incredible surprise! What were we missing all these years. The food was wonderful with generous portions. But more important, the service and atmosphere were outstanding. Karen and Lawrence were the only ones handling all the dinner guests but you would never know it by their fantastic smiles and attitude. We actually felt like we were at home. Karen and Lawrence made us feel like family and delivered outstanding service despite the amount of customers there were. In fact, many of them were also engaged like it was one big family. I could on and we look forward to our next visit.“

“O.M.G. You're not going to find better food in Milwaukee. Fight me. EVERYTHING on their menu is either amazing or fan-f#%*ing-tastic. If I were a richer woman, I would walk in and get one of everything on the menu. The first time I tried it, I was so impressed, that the next night when I had reservations to another "foodie" Restaurant, I left after appetizers and came back to Odd Duck. This place makes me want to bring them little duckies. And I don't say that lightly. I want to hold them and love them and make them mine. The restaurant, that is. Not the ducks. Those I could leave or take. BUT I love the place so Much, that I accept and respect their love for the ducks and will take them just as they are. Am I proposing to a restaurant? Mayhaps. Try it and tell me you're not in love.“

“Why have I waited for 5 years here in MKE to try this? Tonight, I took my father out to dinner. He is nearly 87 and pretty much loves steak. I'm vegetarian. Therefore, finding a place that has quality food for both of us is a chore. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with kindness. The staff was exceptional. Our waitress, Mayah was as thoughtful, intuitive and fantastic as the best customer service goals could envision. But, the big thing, besides the beautiful, elegant space right across from Lake Michigan, was the meal. Bacchus offers several options for a fixed price meal. And, at $70, it is a serious deal. I found the vegetarian options inspired. I had the LACLARE GOAT CHEESE CURDS: blueberry compote, arugula, smoked walnuts, macerated blueberry, vanilla, and Tellicherry peppercorn. For my main course I had the butternut squash risotto. And, for afters, the pear and sunflower. My father went straight for the filet mignon. So, the result was a big thumbs up, 5 stars. Kudos also for actually having a vegetarian menu, being super accommodating to my father in his mobility scooter (holding the doors open, etc.) and lastly, thank you to the valet parking attendant for being so speedy and gracious. Go.“

“This is truly a neighborhood diner that is a local favorite spot. We went on a Saturday mid-morning for brunch, and trust me . . . We were not alone. That joint was packed. We had about a 25 minute wait which was cool. Once we got seated, we were greeted by our waitress. The wait staff is not like an ordinary staff. They are a group of people that look like they just put on whatever is clean and come to work. You really don’t know who works there as the restaurant staff look like the average customer. . , it’s kinda weird, but it works. Our waitress was awesome! We had the Buffalo chicken BLT wrap with hand cut fries and creamy coleslaw and the spicy chicken quesadilla with tortilla chips w/salsa and sour cream. The food was soooo flavorful and seasoned to perfection. It’s a very busy dish place where everyone minds their own business. Loved it!!! I will be back. This restaurant should be featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.“

“This was the new restaurant of the week and since I love breakfast I would stop over for Sunday brunch at first opening and I was the first one in. The interior is way nicer looking than the outside with a nice balance of old with modern looks. Huge wooden bar, tile floors, dark wood, tin ceiling and light walls completely covered with art etc. The table presentation was done very well. I would start with the red snapper which is a gin Bloody Mary spicy which was good but boring garnish wise with a string bean, shaved carrot and a thin pickle. The staff was excellent from start to finish. The menu has some very good items but I was there for the smothered browns which is similar to a slinger from the St. Louis area which I love. The smothered browns is crisply hash browns topped with melted cheese, chili, two eggs topped fresh chives with toast.. The smothered browns were so delicious and seasoned nicely with mild chili, just a great combination. The toast was excellent because it was a great quality bakery, an artisan style I like say with that nice chew like a sourdough. Overall this was a great upscale casual restaurant to chill on a Sunday morning having the brunch experience and reasonably priced I thought.“

“We have been to Brandywine many times the past few years. We've taken friends there and we've always enjoyed our dinners. The last time we went we were surprised (and disappointed) to see some changes to their menu. First, they've taken the pork chop away. The menu is definitely focused on pastas and the pork chop was one of the few non-pasta dishes. But more surprising was the additional small add-ons with a cost. For example, if you want parmesan cheese on your pasta, it will cost an additional $1. Really? And if you order the focaccia (which is excellent) and you need a little more olive oil, that too will come with a small charge. Perhaps they have had bad experiences with people demanding excessive amounts of cheese or oil, but if that's the case, why not just increase the price of the entrees by a few cents to cover that cost of those who wish to have more. We will still go there, but we were just disappointed to see these changes.“

“I was a special guest on a special occasion, and though surpisingly the restaurant wouldn't have been my first choice (because of the lack of spices), I appreciate every single moment of the food, presentation and our server's professionalism and kindness. The description says the decor is minimalist, and I argue that the food was too... And it was great to be exposed to this in this manner. We ordered the chef's menu which was a fantastical plate after plate served up for us. They seriously consider allergies and restrictions which is top-tier. Reserve hours out of your time for this gastronomocal experience and of course, getting lost in conversation with your date. Oddly, I remember getting a small cookie at the end--that was probably a piece that wasn't needed and changed the taste in my mouth a little. Perhaps a wrapped handmade candy to take away as a momento, or maybe I just need better willpower? Love this place, would return on a special occasion splurge.“

“Three of us dined at the restaurant recently with an out-of-town visitor. Our server was very good and recommended wines that matched with our dishes well, but the service was a bit slow probably because the restaurant was quite full. The menu is large, and there are quite a few choices other than steaks despite its reputation as a steak house. I ordered Hudson Canyon Seared Scallops as my main course; the dish was quite flavorful, although the scallops were not as tender as those that I had at other restaurants in town. I also ordered the Seafood Gumbo soup and found the soup to be better than most outside those I had in New Orleans. The restaurant has a fine dining setup, and the price certainly reflects that. The quality of food is good but nothing amazing. As a hotel restaurant, it needs to have the capacity to serve a large number of customers when holding events, likely requiring standardization and limiting room for innovation. So, for the same price or a little less, one can find better-quality food elsewhere in Milwaukee based on my view.“

“We ordered Ardent's Lent special Friday only fish fry and at $30 a pop for either perch or blue gill we were understandably curious about whether it would prove worth the cost but because the restaurant always delivers the best in culinary quality we felt pretty confident. Let me just say once we got home and opened up our 'pizza sized delivery boxes' we were stunned ! Each contained mounds of perfectly crisped French fries delicately sprinkled with parsley & dill , 2 containers of creamy flavorful tartar sauce , 2 slices of yummy marble rye slathered in sweet butter, a generous serving of piquant coleslaw and ample serving of PURR-FECTLY breaded & fried fish fillets + 3 fresh lemon wedges to add a bit of zest. Seriously in a post COVID world where restaurant prices continue to rise and in many cases quality & quantity slips an utterly delicious dining experience like this deserves all the accolades we can muster! Congrats to Ardent's entire team for having the dedication & talent to put it forth . Only regret? That Lent doesn't lasted all year long!“

Steak was also perfection along with the potatoes! Drinks rated 4.5 just because my husband ordered an old fashion and they brought it with small ice cubes (big no no for this drink). My spring drink was amazing! Got the one with Lavender and Mint from their spring menu and was very refreshing! Once I arrived, there was plenty of street parking as well as a lot in the back The inside was charming with a vintage vibe. Drinks were strong and their menu is lengthy. “Coming from a foodie town of Chicago and also chasing delicious bites, I was so so so impressed with the dinner party I attended this weekend. We were invited to a surprise birthday party for a dear friend, and I did not know what to expect of this “restaurant.” I leave the word restaurant in quotations because it was much more than that. It was an intimate dinner party EXPERIENCE where the staff blended in the background and it felt like our group were the only ones there. Everyone had a hand in the experience, from the bartender to the servers to the chef. They were unobtrusive, funny, helpful, and generous. We were in the upstairs room and there was plenty of space to mingle and move around. What I love, as a self professed window shopper, is how much stuff there is to look at. I am seriously jealous of Chef David’s eclectic collection of goods. I can get lost in all his secret rooms passageways and antiques. I could easily spend hours looking at everything in his office alone just like I would at Target or Hobby Lobby lol. I would give 6/5 if I could for experience.Food was amazing, curated and discussed beforehand, per our friend who hosted this party. He planned everything out with the chef, having some choice in it, but not all. Regardless, all courses were amazing and plentiful. You do not leave hungry. The crème brûlée was my FAVORITE PART. Oh, and the 4 wine pairings were good too :)Parking was easy. If you’re able to find street parking, there is plenty of that surrounding that location. Otherwise, there is a parking lot adjacent to the building. Not only that, I find it special when the chef comes out to show their gratitude and socialize with the guests. Chef David was gregarious and hung out with us as we meandered room to room. You can tell he takes great pride in what he’s created with his incredible team. The stories behind each artifact to why he chose what dishes to make, it kept me entertained for hours.“

“My husband and I met up with a few friends here on a Saturday night and it was super busy! It took a little bit of waiting at the bar to get a table, but we did settle into a booth soon enough. Our waitress was super sweet and was clearly working very hard on this busy night, but took excellent care of us. I had a French Kiss followed by the House Daiquiri. The French Kiss was yummy, but a little strong on the hibiscus syrup in my opinion. The House Daiquiri was confusing - all the daiquiris I've ever had have been served neat in a coupe - my friend ordered a vodka gimlet which was served this way - but the daiquiri was on the rocks in a tall glass. It was very good nevertheless. My husband got an old fashioned, which he thoroughly enjoyed. They also have some bar food which we were excited to try. We ordered a basket of salted fries and risotto bites, but found out after that they were out of the risotto bites. The fries were really good: the outside was crispy and inside fluffy and not dense. It was also seasoned very well. I imagine the risotto bites were equally delicious, so we'll have to go back to try it! Our check did include the risotto bites, but our waitress was sweet and fixed it right away. Overall a good experience and would definitely come back!“

“What a hopping place! How have I not come here all these years? It is located in a very unlikely location - I pass by all the time and didn't really realize it was a pub.Quaint vibes and a great place to watch some games if there are anything Milwaukee going on, methinks. There's also a dart board and it was busy at 5pm on a Saturday. We were out on a walk and just walked in. By 6, the place was getting pretty full.I thought our server was kinda brusque at first, but she warmed up pretty quick. She was funny, kind, and fast. Awesome!I've had better food, but their burger was still pretty good, and I'd definitely go back for some seconds.IPA (5.5)forgot what hubby had, but I loved it.hangover helper (14)I didn't have a hangover, and you don't have to have one to get this wonderful burger. It was cooked perfectly medium and with a perfectly runny egg. I asked how much they charged for lettuce, onion and tomatoes, and our server looked at me like I was crazy. "who does that?" she asks. I know! I fell in love with the place right then and there. lolAnd the lettuce was a good enough size for those on keto journeys like me - I could wrap half my burger in it and eat it like that. I love that so much more than when they give you cut up lettuce.wings (16)ok, so I won't be getting this again unless I'm back on Thursdays for their wing special. Not bad, but not great either. The wings themselves aren't breaded or seasoned. They're just straight fried wings. Perfect for keto, since it's not breaded. But a little seasoning would have been helpful. We did ask for sauce on the side, but usually the wings themselves have some seasoning, like salt, on them, don't they? Oh well. The sauce (habanero mango) was good, about the same as what we get anywhere else.overall, a jolly day and we're coming back for sure! This would be an awesome place to be for watching a game.“

“It was a warm summer night, we needed supper, and Wiesler's deck with its colorful umbrellas was calling. We were there soon after they opened at 4 p.m. so we had our choice of tables. The menu is not huge, but it didn't need to be. My husband ordered the beer cheeseburger with a side of coleslaw and I had the turkey/bacon wrap with a side of applesauce. We were both very satisfied with our food. It turned out that the friendly and attentive waitress was the owner of the bar/restaurant for the past 35 years along with her husband. They must be doing something right. Good food combined with the historic building made it a great choice for us.“
