“We were there and the food was absolutely good. Yes I'm a food critic and everything was on par. We never had to ask for refills from our waiter Carl. Yes the chairs in the bar area especially in the nook area are very uncomfortable. The ambiance is eclectic. The scallops were cooked to perfection, the temp on my steak was absolutely perfect as I requested it blu. I didn't have to explain to the waiter what that means, and no backlash about consumption of rare food items.“

“Absolutely loved the atmosphere! Bryce is who served our table & was the sweetest young lady & very helpful. I came for my daughter’s 5th birthday and loved the singing robot with cheesecake ?My mother & I both had a seafood boil bag & my daughter had a fried shrimp basket and everything was delicious & fresh ! I absolutely loved this restaurant so when we come back to visit the Gulf Shores from North Carolina again we will most definitely be eating here again ?“

“Delish!!! My hubby and I had the shrimp boil for two. It was seasoned perfectly. The shrimp were amazing. My daughter had the snow crab legs. She said they were better than she’s had at any restaurant. We also had the crab dip. Yummy!!! We will definitely be back when we visit Gulf Shores again. Great service, great food!!“

“Pleasantly surprised, fried crawfish, oysters & flounder fingers were cooked to perfection, not overcooked. Tender & juicy!. Service was quick & attentative. So nice to find another seafood place that cooks seafood right! Even fries were nice & crispy. I was told that was the Cook's first day; they better keep that Cook!“

“We had a top notch lunch at Fish River Grill today with Nikki as our server. I was a bit disappointed they were out of gumbo, but quickly turned my frown upside down as I saw fried gator bites as an app. They were perfectly seasoned and fried! I got the half shrimp, half fried whitefish basket which came with hush puppies, okra, fries and Cole slaw. All of which were extremely full of flavor and fried to perfection. I loved how they have bottles of condiments instead of tiny cups (which are not cost effective and get trashed) We were so happy with our lunch! And the complimentary swamp stew was delicious!!!! As we were finishing, Sweet Nikki brought out complimentary lemon cake for each of us. As if we weren’t stuffed from lunch, but we could t resist. It was delicious. Huge shout out to the staff for easily working with us having my husbands service dog. They made sure all were comfortable. Definitely check this place out, you won’t be disappointed!“

“We're from Atlanta and visiting our dad in Alabama and he took us to this great little country restaurant. Food was great! Great service. Highly recommend it and make sure to check out the possum in the cage on your way out... Loved it“

“Best boil I’ve had and thats a lot of boils. Shrimp was cooked perfect. Seasoning delicious. Corn potatoes and sausage were abundant and perfect. And the corn was whole ears, tender and sweet.2nd time here and got the crawfish, first time having good crawfish outside the state of Louisiana (well except when I have it flown in live and do it myself). This brother and sister team know what their doing.“

We never wanted for anything, she gave us everything we could need and more! “We spent two weeks touring the gulf and this was our favorite meal by far. The drinks, entree and dessert were creative and included fresh ingredients. The words light, balanced and inventive come to mind. The service was lovely and we will definitely back to this little slice of heaven.“

“Off the beaten path, perhaps where the locals only, go...we discovered a small gem of a diner with smallish portions but tasty food. The waitress was a bit gruff but she warmed up as did the frigid diner after a few minutes... What makes me say, we'll be back?! I said the food was tasty but it's the visit from the Chef, checking on all his customers, and then talking up my father-in-law's alma mater! Did I say locals only, well, please include all the (in the know) snowbirds! BTW: they sell their mugs - and yes, we bought one! And bring your sweatshirt/jacket - it does get really cold every 10 minutes so you'll thank me :-)“

The portion size is enough to feed two people. The taste always draws me back for a last meal before heading back to the Northcoast for the summer. “We have been buying our seafood at Bon Secour Fisheries for almost 30 years. Just went the other day to get crab legs and the IQF shrimp. They not only sell to some of the local seafood markets, they have a retail store also. The Nelson family are really nice people.“

It sure was authentic starting with the Thai iced tea!We ordered the chicken Pad Thai, Drunken noodles (PadKee Mow) with tofu, Vegetable Green Curry and Chicken Pad Prik kingh and they are all very delicious! The server was very friendly and helpful.The portion is a bit less than expected (thus a bit pricy), however, with the quality it's still a good meal overall.“
