The quality of their food are just average nothing stand out.

The restaurant is inside the shopping mall. it's located on the second floor, facing the street corner.
They are right above HMart.

If this is the first time that you are going to the restaurant. It's kinda hard to find. Go to information center and ask the lady for directions.“

“I ordered the signature malatang with less spice, and my friend ordered the sesame sauce spicy dry mix. I already had high expectations because some of my friends told me this is the number one malatang place.
It really hit the spot!! So delicious. The soup had rich umami flavor and paired well with all the ingredients. The spice level was just right for me since my stomach is usually too weak to handle spiciness.
I also tried some of my friend’s dish. She chose medium spicy. It was actually too hot for me, but still very tasty. Spiciness is very personal, so I recommend starting with your own comfortable level and then adjusting the spice level on your next visit. (Anyway, you’ll definitely come back!! ;))
The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made my experience even more pleasant.
Also, the restaurant looked much more hygienic than other malatang places. Please keep up this great quality 🙏

“The Taiwanese hot pot in Burnaby has a very authentic taste. It has many menu choices, fresh ingredients, bright store lights, and friendly service. It is also worth mentioning that the store is also very kind to children and will give children stickers, which is also good for parent-child customers. Highly recommended. “Reading these reviews make me so confused! Maybe it’s because I tried it after they put up the “under new management” sign.

Last week I went to Aroma which is on the opposite side of Crystal mall, and has a much higher rating, and was very disappointed with their popcorn chicken and beef noodle soup.

This week I decided to give Hanju a try, and it was far far better. The chicken is perfectly seasoned with the deep fried basil leaves, and the beef in the beef noodle soup just melts in your mouth. No carrot or radish fillers (the taste is there, it’s just not served as chunks) you actually get green veggies. They have some imported Taiwanese drinks as well.

The price is not cheap, but we would come back for our next Taiwanese food craving, especially with baby in tow. They have some children’s books and the seats are a lot more comfortable and clean than its competitor on the other side of the mall.“

An excellent choice for hot pot and a great late night option. Ideally suited for parties of 4-6 but can accommodate for larger parties. “Great service. We came here late at 2 p.m. on a weekend; they welcomed us to stay and eat during their meal break, making sure we were served.

The food is fresh, and the price is very affordable. We appreciate the great experience.“

“We enjoyed our meal at Happy Lamb. I asked for the spiciest broth, although there were lots of peppers it didn’t seem very spicy. Don’t know if extra spicy is an option?? Other than that everything tasted very good and the food seemed fresh and plentiful.“

AYCE is a great value as we found the food to our liking ie: not salty, oily or mostly deep fried with the items I CHOOSE. I felt there was a fair amount of meat options considering the pricing but everything we tried was delicious other than the tough beef brisket which was not the best cut and lots of untrimmed fat. My favorites were the stewed pork bones and the chicken with green onion sauce as both were so delicious as were all the vegetables options I chose. The deep fried pork meatball was just ok as regular pork was used vs lean. I didn't try the sweet and sour pork or the long doughnut but my friend loved these 3. The dumplings were just ok as they lacked filling so I didn't want to get full on the flour wrappers! The crepe station was nice with many varieties to choose from such as pig's ear, however, the hoisin sauce was too salty. The thick darker based soup I tried was good too. I didn't try the egg swirl with seaweed as I'm not a fan of seaweed. I liked how you can help yourself to the drink 'station' as I went with their soya milk. The warm soya custard dessert was good with their sweet syrup. Our server Yuan was very friendy which made our visit even more pleasant! We found the atmosphere very comfortable with tasteful decor and nice, soft music playing in the background.
If you are a senior its even a better deal for only $10.99 ? Even at $16.99 you can't beat this for AYCE 7 days a week 9:30 am-2:30 pm. The menu appears to change slightly based on other reviews. They also participate in the Too Good To Go app which would be the leftovers.
I hope you get a chance to enjoy this as much as we did! I'm not sure why the reviews aren't higher as one must consider how expensive food prices are these days. We are looking forward to our next visit very soon! Bon appetit ?

“Honestly I think burnaby location offered larger vegetable plates. We ordered premium beef with $34 but it’s actually not tender at all and it’s even heard to tell the difference between pork or beef. All other food and soup are good. It was only a bit disappointed because of the beef quality.“

“Food is great! Meats are significantly better than Kingsway cause its almost no fat on the side at all. Pot on the table is a bit far and non-asian employees refill your soup to the rim of the ceramic but the pot is shorter and it's the stainless. So broth went everywhere!“

“A brand new experience of hotpot. Non-oily soup base of pork bone is fantastic by itself. All the ingredients were so fresh, range from seafood to handmade meatballs! Fish maw is tasty and has a unique texture.

scallop is the best of the best. The shell is almost face size. Steamed with garlics and poured with hot oil on top of it.

“I have been eating Malatang brand Liu for many years. Every time I enter the store, the dishes are fresh and clean, and the taste is authentic and classic. Charlotte’s service at Kingsway store also makes people feel very comfortable. I check in often because my husband also likes to eat😋“

“Had one of those meals that made you leave feeling happy and satisfied. Came on a Saturday night and the place filled up quickly and the K-pop music made the space lively (our 2.5y/o daughter kept dancing the whole night). Food wait was around 30 minutes, but when it came, everything came! The spicy beef intestine hot pot was awesome if you like organs, very well-seasoned. Everyone loved the seafood pancake, which was very crispy and had a loads of filling. Japchae portion was huge and very tasty. My favorite was the bossom and jokbal (braised pork hock) dish! Super tender, gelatinous and flavorful, highly recommend. The kettle Vanmak makgeoli helped us wash down all that food, which we had to pack half of it to go. Great meal and value, will definitely return!“

“Upon entering, they have a number system, make sure you grab a number.
The staff here is very very polite and friendly. Our server even asked us if it's our first time here, and what she would recommend. The lunch combos come with a complementry drink. Our drinks were delicious. We didn't drink the majority of it because we didn't want to fill ourselves up before our hotpot.

My friend got the Korean hot pot. It is nicely spiced, exceeds generous in portion and she said she would order this again.
She didn't realize that the hot pot had ramen noodles inside it. This combo comes with a side of rice too. I got the seafood and tofu hot pot. I also didn't realize that it had vermecelli noodles in it, and my combo came with a complementry choice of vermecelli noodles or rice. Word of caution, ask the server if the hotpot has any noodles inside it first, before choosing your complementary side. Also come hungry because it's a whole lot of food. We ended up taking our free beverages with us back to the dog park. It was perfect, no complaints.

Our meals were delicious. My friend loved how they refill our hotpot with broth, and not water. It's a pet peeve we got lol. If your hot pot gets too hot you can ask the server to put out the flame.
Would we come back? Based upon our own experience, we had a great lunch here. So yes.“

“This place serves very good Cantonese Chinese food, the prime are healthy, quality ingredients and the serving staff is exceptional. Pricing is very fair for the quality of food. Every time we come visit Vancouver, we come here to have a great dining experience.“

“I walk by this place so many times. I didn't think much since there so many places to eat on Denman. Since my favorite Korean restaurant across the street recently closed, so I said hey I'll try it today. I'm glad I did it. The dan dan noodle was good and chewy. I went with the lightest heat and it was perfect. I lemon ice tea was good. Only wish it was a bit bigger. Wife and kid loved their meal, too. I was satisfied and I will be back.“

“This is an old school restaurant. Not too many of these places left. Nothing fancy, but good food. Servers are very friendly and helpful to recommend items. They don't over sell, which is quite rare nowadays. Portions are good size. Prices are a tad high, but food is tasty. They are cash or etransfer only.“

The cooks are obviously skilled, flavours and style bring me back to when I lived in Vietnam 25 years ago, so delightful. Since Mr. Red has departed east van this is our new go-to. Wonderful.“

Didn’t get any thing until 19:50, so we have to ask to pack the food in the container to go.
Finally we got our “take out” at 20:00.

“Honestly, I think Golden Swan’s ratings should be higher than 3.9. I think it’s better than Sun sui wah, western lake and even Kirin. It’s a bit more of an old school vibe, less affected by hipsters, which I prefer. Nothing pretentious here—just good old fashioned dim sum. The staff are actually pretty attentive and nice, at least compared to western lake where they just yell at you, or seem annoyed to have to deal with you (even with my Cantonese speaking husband!)“
