“Food: Had the donburi rice bowl (had maize, lettuce and other stuff) with cha shu don (pork belly). It was so good and filling—worth the price.

Atmosphere: The place is cozy. They have wordless music playing, which creates a relaxing atmosphere—I was relaxed.

Service: The staff were welcoming and nice from entry till departure.

If you’re looking for good Japanese cuisine, I highly recommend this place! Would surely be visiting again!“

“Hachi Hana Japanese Restaurant is now my favourite Japanese restaurant on the North Shore.
My friend and I ordered Beef Yaki Soba, Prawn and Yam Tempura and an assortment of sushi rolls, including Unagi, California Roll, B.C. Roll, Dynamite Roll and Prawn Tempura Roll.
The Beef Yaki Soba was fantastic. The presentation was remarkable - the dish was sizzling and bubbling for at least 30 seconds when the server placed it on the table. The noodles were thin and perfectly tender.
The tempura was exceptionally warm, delicate and fluffy and was not over-battered.
The sushi was also excellent (I’m not a big fan of rice or raw fish). The unagi and B.C. rolls were particularly delicious.
The ambiance was cozy and welcoming. The restaurant was very quiet - a prefect environment to carry on a conversation.
The service was also fine. The server replenished piping hot tea on several occasions.
This restaurant is a must-try for fans of Oriental food!“

“I ordered takeout from Genji on Oct 2025. It is located at Parkgate shopping mall in North Vancouver. I ordered 4 rolls and they were all good and packaged neatly and were ready at the agreed pickup time. I recommend Genji Japanese restaurant. I have eaten in before and service is also good.“

“Little Japan in the Lynn Valley Mall offers delicious food cooked and served by a wonderful man who always has a welcoming smile. This is my absolute favourite take-out restaurant but I've also eaten right there at one of Little Japan's tables. The food is very very good food especially the chicken or beef terriyaki. “The assorted sashimi plate was very nice!! It is just an assorted bowl up to the chef. Great presentation. It was enough for small portions for two people. My favourites were the salmon and the shrimp, it tasted very fresh! The place itself isn’t big, if you’re a big party you might have to split up or sit at the counter“

We ordered avocado oshi & salmon oshi. Both rolls were seared perfectly & the salmon melted in my mouth to the point I thought it was butter.
Tuna tataki was on point & very fresh tasting

Also ordered beef teriyaki came w lots of rice on a huge plate and beef udon which came w fresh veggies and the beef was not over cooked very flavorful broth. Highly recommend for a quick bite after a long day of playing in nature nearby!“
