“The couple that runs this shop is adorable. They walk in with a smile and walk out with one. A true mom and pop shop. Sushi is great, there very quick. Would love to see more options with rice for people who can't eat white rice. That's my only thing but still deserves a 5 star“

“Apologies to my former fav sushi restaurant but, Hanayuki is officially my new favorite Sushi Restaurant in the lower mainland.
The food came out so quickly, the staff were super friendly and accommodating despite us arriving an hour before closing, and the atmosphere was warm with very cozy seating.
It is close to some popular local spots like Rocky Point, Belcara, Sasamat Lake, and Buntzen so we will be back again regularly which is an absolute treat.
The quality of the food and fish was unparalleled and the miso soup really hit the spot after a cold swim. My friend had the Tonkatsu which she said was the best she has had in a long time and the closest to what she makes at home.
I really recommend the Salmon Run Roll and the Tataki Attack Roll. The gyoza is very crispy and the Toro melts in your mouth.
I cannot wait to go again and bring more of our family too!“

“This is one of the best sushi restaurants in Surrey. Me and my family order from here atleast once a week, and dine in on special occasions. The sushi and seafood is consistently fresh and delicious. The Japanese dishes and Korean dishes are also incredibly tasty. The staff are attentive, hard working, and friendly. Exceptional atmosphere, exceptional service, and consistently delicious quality food.“

“Overall a good experience. The quality of the food was a bit above average. The way that everything was plated, was really fun and unique and cool to see. Prices were not bad and the hours are excellent. For 5 stars, the quality/balance of ingredients would need to be adjusted to match the higher quality sushi restaurants that I've been to.“

“We ordered the “Okonoman Date” Set for around $62 + tax and service charge. It came with salad, sushi, sashimi, makis, terriyaki, tempura, miso soup. We were so full. The set can be good for 3, if you’re not so hungry or if you don’t eat much. Service was fast, the waitress was friendly, and the booths made eating there private and special.
Vegetarian options: Salad, maki roll (e.g. with imitation crab) and vegetable tempura“

“I have been here for both the ramen and the don.
Overall the don is fantastic with colossal serving sizes. I believe there was a $10 chashu don special at one point and it was wonderful. The don never disappoints.
Ramen is a little small for me but the taste is always great and beautiful presentation.
The atmosphere is nice with simple wood tables and seats, moderate lighting and relatively quiet.
Servers are nice and do a great job.
Love this place it doesn’t disappoint, ESPECIALLY for the don. 5/5“

“With so many Japanese food options on Hastings, this is THE place to go eat or order from.
The food quality is TOP notch, the service is awesome, the variety of offering is great, pricing is on par with other restaurants. And the value is outstanding.
Consistently providing great sushi, we’ve been order or dining in for the past 2 years.
Our favs are the staples: Avocado roll, Tuna roll, Sockeye Sashimi roll, Tuna & Sockeye Sashimi etc.
And for fun try the DejaVu or Geisha Roll when you can… LOVE IT
Kid-friendliness: The customize their rolls to cater to kids preferences .. my daughter hates mayo, so Shen will not put mayo in their roll for her“

“I left the atmosphere part blank because I have only ordered delivery, but for freshness and presentation. Everything is so so good, and the prices are really reasonable. My personal favourite is the temaki (hand rolls) Not many sushi places have them nowadays. Negitoro, spicy tuna, and dynamite are my 3 favs :)“

“Amazing sushi place right next to the Holdom Station! I’ve been to half of the sushi restaurant in Vancouver and I really liked this place:) It’s cozy and clean. The menu is kinda hard to read but the selections are also more varying than other sushi places for sushi lovers. I liked Deluxe Chirashi and Tokusen Sashimi. For Oshi sushi, I recommend unagi oshi! For special rolls, Awesome cream cheese roll and Mazinga roll are my favourite!“

“I got sushi, udon, and spicy chicken to go, and everything was delicious. The sushi was incredibly fresh with no fishy taste at all, the udon was flavorful, and the spicy chicken was so tasty. I had it yesterday, and I already want to eat it again. I’ll definitely be coming back—100%!“

“"I Love Sushi" is basically Tinder for sushi lovers—swipe right on everything! The food is so good, I considered running away with a plate of sashimi and starting a new life. The staff is so nice, they might adopt you. Honestly, if you leave this place and don’t fall in love with sushi, we need to have a serious talk ?“

“Lovely and yummy!
Staff who helped me was so lovely and friendly! She had braces, I'm sorry, I'm not sure what her name was.
We got 6 inari sushi pockets and they were AMAZING. I would definitely come back and have them again.
There is no seating in Sushi Tree, we just sat in a grassy patch nearby to eat them, which was no problem.“

“Victoria Sushi is a solid spot in New West. It’s hidden under a residential building, so easy to miss, but worth finding. The portions are generous and prices are fair. I always order the snapper tempura—crispy, light, and full of flavour. Service isn’t the best though—pretty hands-off—but the food makes up for it. If you’re in the area and craving Japanese, give them a try.“

“Small business, family owned! Cute classic sushi layout inside. You can eat at a table or the “bar style area” where they make your sushi. You can tell they take pride in their restaurant from the moment you walk in. Super nice people and with the warmest smiles.
Experienced great service as they were always ensuring our tea is filled and that we enjoyed are food. The prices are very affordable compared to a lot of sushi places out there these days.
The portions were SO HUGE, a lot of rice but also a lot of fillings / very big pieces of fish too (a rarity these days). I almost wanted to use my hands to eat, as each piece had solid weight to them! PLUS, The fish was extremely fresh… toro was my favorite. I ordered the same amount of rolls I usually do and can easily eat, but this time it was a struggle! And that’s a testament to the generous portions. Bonus points: the tea tasted like the proper roasted green tea that was hot, not like Luke warm water ?
To summarize, I would definitely come back!
Give it a try and support this business ??? they hit all 3 pillars which again, is rare these days: kind service, extremely generous servings and FRESH ingredients.
Parking: Busy complex!“

“This is a very unassuming location, a small restaurant that is tucked away at a corner of a strip mall, almost out of sight. But, what a discovery!
The food was amazing, with fresh ingredients, great quality of seafood used, and nice portions. I had the Aburi Inari Sampler and the Ebi & Gyu Don, and they were both delicious. Flavourful combination of dishes that I haven’t tried before in other Japanese restaurants.
Customer service was very friendly and courteous from start to finish. Overall, this is a hidden gem that I am very glad that I discovered. Very lovely place.
Parking: Not a lot of spots available in the parking lot, but there is some street parking nearby.“

“Yoko In Austin Heights is awesome ?. Been ordering take out for years, but decided to dine in today. The food has always been reliable, fresh and good variety of offerings. One thing that stood out to us on this visit was this hedgehog ? dessert. It was a chocolate ? covered chocolate gelato ice cream ?, it was so good. I highly suggest you try it out. We ordered the chicken cutlet and the teriyaki beef roll. We normally or the Maki, oshi and negiri which is good but this time we wanted to try other options and we were pleasantly surprised. The chicken cutlet was nice and crispy dark chicken ? meat and when he dipped it into the sauce that came with it was tasty. I left happy content and full...“

“Ate here for the first time in quite awhile and found that the food had improved. Spoke to the owner and they mentioned they had taken over from previous management about a year ago. Dined in on a really hot & sunny day and was glad the place was air conditioned. Also, when the sun was right in my eyes i asked that the roller shades come down and the son helpfully obliged“

“I was happy to see a Sushi Restaurant back again. Even meaning to try it out, so stopped in last week to grab a menu. Decided to try it out for a late lunch today. I am so glad I did. The decor is very nicely done, and the atmosphere is friendly and intimate(although I did takeout, but just giving my impressions). The staff was super friendly and helpful. The quality of the food was spectacular, and as I had ordered a lunch special, the value for the amount I spent was great. I will be going back...often. I think it was only $13.95 for "Vege Set A", and it was a filling meal. It came with Miso Soup, Salad, 6pc Yam Tempura Roll, and 8pc Vegetable Roll. I tried something different in going with Veggies, but that Vegetable Roll will be on my next order for sure.
Thanks so much, Haku Sushi for a great meal at an awesome price, which has become rare to find in this day and age.
Vegetarian options: The 8pc Vegetable Roll was simply awesome. It had Cucumber, Avocado, Pickled Radish, and Pickled Squash. It was very tasty and flavourful.“

“Dropped in on a Saturday evening and it wasn't too busy. We had a relaxing supper in the pleasantly cool dining room with some easy listening music playing in the background. I tried the Sashimi & Sushi Bento Box and thoroughly enjoyed it. The quality was great and I thought it was a really good value for $21. Their California rolls seemed to be stuffed and the tempura was up to standards. The tea served was good and mellow. The staff were exceeding polite.“

Wheelchair accessibility: You can roll your wheelchair right through the front door and staff will accommodate a table.“

“Beef/chashu (pork belly) bao: I liked the soft bao here. It seemed unique and proved to be delicious with a mild wasabi sauce. (At least that is what it tasted like)
Korroke: fried yam with mayo. It was filling.
Beef Don: it was quite flavourful and I felt it had a generous amount of rice. The beef could have been less salty but in the end it goes well with the rice portion. Well done.
Thank you Shio Japanese Kitchen!“

“Very delicious, the best nigiri.
But I didn't like the inside, old torn seats, dirty fridge, black from dust curtain and old dirty toilet door. It all spoils the overall impression. But the food is very tasty, so I come back here and tolerate the fact that the place is not well maintained.“

“This is a great alternative food place in the mall. It's located on the lower floor so it's far away from the food court and easily missed. We've been going here quite frequently actually, the food is made to order and it's quick, fresh and convenient. For a fast food type sushi place, it satisfies the craving.“

“Cozy spot with SERIOUSLY fresh fish. The Fraser Heights roll was a fun local twist. it's loaded with flavour and beautifully plated. Service is attentive without hovering, and the miso soup hits the spot on rainy Surrey evenings but not during this time haha it's summer now. Can’t wait to return.“

“I came here for Japanese food and it's really good , I don't really have any complaints at all.
-The mango Tango roll was like so amazing they had more than enough toppings and the flavor was like nothing I have had before
-the takoyaki was pretty good , I loved how the outside had a crispy shell , encasing the gooey inside. It was a tad pricy for how much we got though.
-the cherry blossoms roll was pretty good I loved how tangy and sweet it was.
-The veggie udon was solid , noodles had good texture , soup could use more flavor.
- the wasabi mayo prawn was alright , the sauce only tasted sweet and there wasent enough flavor so I had trouble finishing it.
Service was good , I will probably come back especially for that mango Tango roll.“

“Food was very good, spicy tuna sashimi one of the favorites. Great spot for casual eats. Server took about 15 minutes until checking if we were ready to order, at the moment the server came n was already half way to the counter to ask if we could order now. Not sure where she was but was a lot longer than expected. It may be because we were sat in a corner? Great food, maybe just an off day for the staff. It was not busy, at about 2pm.“
“Very good sushi spot taking over from Fleetwood Sushi. Sushi is quick and good quality. Service and staff are great. One of my favorite take out spots but I’m sure dine in service is good too. They are attentive to allergies (including gluten free). Great location wish them all the best.“

“I have passed by this restaurant many times and decided to try it out. I ordered the meal where you get miso soup, chicken don with two rolls for a very great price! It was made quite quick for the quality of the food and he had 3 other orders to do too. I really enjoyed the mini chicken don, the soup lacked some taste, and the sushi was moderate. The place lacks the aesthetic that other restaurants have, but the customer service was great! The guy wasn't the greatest at English, but he was still very welcoming and very kind.
I took off one star only because this restaurant is your basic and convenient place to order sushi. Prices are relatively worth for the quality, customer service was nice, and the place seemed organized. It's not a bad restaurant, just not as nice as other ones I've been too. You get what you pay for essentially when you come here so don't expect anything spectacular. Otherwise, I would still come by for a quick grab!“

All the food was super fresh tasting and fantastic!
Love the ambiance too, cozy, warm, comfortable!
Highly recommend, 10/10, new favourite sushi place!“
