Back to 5 stars. They were busy for Mother's day and lots of staff working; what we saw was organised chaos. We still think Hanayuki Sushi has to be [one of] the best sushi restaurants, including fine dine ones too! Great taste, done just right, and never dry. Some very creative special rolls too. And bonus: IF any leftover, it's still very good!
Recommend without any hesitation!

This time I've knocked off one star. We always enjoy Hanayuki Sushi for taste and value, which often don't go together. The star less is because, very surprisingly, they didn't have their act together for pickup orders. What was supposed to be 20 minutes became almost 45 minutes...and no acknowledgement or apology for the wait. Food still tasted good though. 👍“

We were a group of over 20 people, so I expected there might be some mistakes with the orders, but everything came out perfectly.

“A tiny joint. I grew up in this neighborhood. This place has changed owner at least a few times since I have known it. This latest sushi joint is much better than the one before. They chose to keep their menu selection small, so I could not order my favorite Agedashi Tofu or BC roll, but they do excel in quality. I was pleasantly surprised at the food they crafted. Everything is flavourful and delicious. The toasted sesame on top of the scallop roll was very aromatic and added to the flavor. The salmon aburi was torched well and had a nice balance of rice and ingredients without being overly greasy. They also wrap their rolls with minimal rice, so you don't get full quickly. The place is very small, but they did a good job with the minimalist decor so it does not feel overly cramped. I would come back again to try more of their food.“

Our Nemo-6-Special-Rolls (48pieces) tray is fabulously delicious, so does the other kind of Sushi, Oshi, we ordered, we like the acid-sweet balance and texture of their sushi rice; Nemo's Sashimi slices are some of the freshest and thickest cut compared to the other Japanese-sashimi class restaurants we tried; though we ordered 19-dishes for 12 guest, there was not much left that we pack as left over, a solid testimony of how much we enjoyed our food at Nemo.

“There wasnt a whole lot of people in the restaurant, as it was around 3:00, so it was quiet and the service was really quick. The chasu pork was the best pork ive ever tried, and weve been to alot of ramen places in many different countries. Id add a photo of my ramen bowl but it was gone before i could take one“

“I visited this sushi restaurant for the first time after seeing so many positive reviews, and it definitely lived up to the hype.

The restaurant is quite small and cozy, with around 20 seats inside. They do not take reservations, so it is first come, first served. Despite being busy, the service was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and regularly came by to refill our tea at just the right time without being intrusive.

The menu offers a great variety of sushi rolls, ranging from traditional options to vegetarian rolls and even baked rolls. There were plenty of choices for everyone. They also serve a selection of classic Japanese appetizers.

“Pretty good sushi and pretty good value for a little joint tucked away in a strip mall off the Fraser Hwy in Surrey.

There are only a few booths and the decor is pretty spartan but for $25 I got the sashimi lunch box and I was full. Not even sure if I got upcharged for a spicy tuna roll instead of a Cali roll.“

“We met up with friends for dinner at this restaurant we had seen on social media. We ordered a variety of appetizers, including sashimi, sushi, a dinner combo, and tempura. While everything was delicious, except for the tempura, which was given to us a second time, the coating was too heavy and thick, making it heavy and not light. Otherwise, the food was great, and the staff was fantastic, friendly, and attentive to our drinks.“

“Came here after Willingdon Church since it’s across the street. It looked kind of empty and inside so I didn't have high expectations, but the food was actually really good! The sushi rolls we got were Alaska, red, and munch roll. To my surprise, the Alaska roll was my favourite! We also got a beef udon soup that was really delicious and bigger than I expected. “I recently discovered this magnificent sushi restaurant near my home. I've never experienced fresher sushi before. Their raw oysters are divine. And the sockeye salmon sashimi is unbelievable. My server (Rose) is a sweetheart who is friendly and polite. The music is a little on the loud side but the genre of the music is enjoyable. I'm going to make this sushi restaurant my regular place from now on.“
