“It’s really gone down hill. The sushi is okay but over priced. I tolerated it as it’s near my neighbourhood, however, today the person seating us and serving us was very rude. My friend and I said it was the rudest we have ever seen- especially when she aggressively tossed the chopsticks at our table and would not engage at all. I have never not tipped, and today I did due to the horrible and disrespectful service. I will not be back.“

Just note the cellular signal is not good here so you’ll have to connect to the store wifi to get service. But not a big deal for us.“

“I owe these people a proper shoutout, because they have quietly fed us a long run of good meals and never once made a fuss about it. Living just around the corner at some point, the place slid into that comfortable category you stop questioning and somewhere back there I think it wore a different name, maybe different owners, the details blur the way details do when a spot simply becomes part of your regular orbit. But fairness demands I say it out loud: the food here is honest and it is tasty, and we are grateful for that. I cannot point to one single dish and wave a flag over it. I can tell you we walked out satisfied every single time, which in the long run counts for more.“

Place is small, so limited tables, so you may want to plan ahead during meal times, as seating could be a bit, we lucked out however, as they weren't very busy in the middle of the afternoon.

Service was quick, and friendly, they are also quite attentive, and feels like they are a step ahead with refills etc.

Rolls were basic but they nailed the simplicity of the California, salmon and dynamite rolls - prices are very fair for portion -

Probably will re-visit to explore the menu more, however a tad out of the way.“

“We met up with friends for dinner at this restaurant we had seen on social media. We ordered a variety of appetizers, including sashimi, sushi, a dinner combo, and tempura. While everything was delicious, except for the tempura, which was given to us a second time, the coating was too heavy and thick, making it heavy and not light. Otherwise, the food was great, and the staff was fantastic, friendly, and attentive to our drinks.“

“I absolutely adore Okoman! We have been here a handful of times now and have been happy with every experience. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is nice and cozy and the service is wonderful! Our server Loui was an absolute delight too. We both had a long tiring day, but felt our spirits were lifted a lot after eating such a yummy meal and had a great customer service experience with Loui- the Okoman team is lucky to have him. This has got to be one of my favourite usual spots, so I if you find yourself hungry, or in the burquitlam area, I really recommend checking it out.

“I had the most amazing experience here! Nagoya is a bit of a hole in the wall and we stumbled upon it when looking through sushi places in the area.

Everything we ate was fantastic and had great flavour. The value was also unbeatable. The spicy chicken karage was delicious, the yam tempura had a great spice to the batter, and the rolls and donburi were elevated compared to your average sushi joint.

The family feel of the staff and ownership was palpable and really shines through in the service and the care put into the food.

Whatever has changed since last year I personally found the sushi well made the miso soup nice and hot with good flavor. The roll was fresh with perfect texture and surprisingly good flavoring as well. “I recently discovered this magnificent sushi restaurant near my home. I've never experienced fresher sushi before. Their raw oysters are divine. And the sockeye salmon sashimi is unbelievable. My server (Rose) is a sweetheart who is friendly and polite. The music is a little on the loud side but the genre of the music is enjoyable. I'm going to make this sushi restaurant my regular place from now on.“

Tried this place again today and I was impressed with how good the service is. We were so hungry and super happy when food came out so quickly. Unlike other sushi restaurants, I love how creative and unique the menu is.
We ordered
1. Chicken karaage: wasn't a fan of this dish since it wasn't crunchy. I didn’t like the seasoning of the coat
2. Hotate Oshi sushi: it was ok. The top had too much mayo which made it quite sour
3. Caterpillar roll and scallop roll: super yummy
4. Unagi tendon: delicious and portion is huge!
5. Beef kimchi udon: must have. Everyone in my family loves this
6. Calamari: this has too much coating. We didn't really taste the squid at all.

Iverall experience is good. We will definitely come back!“

They are large and fresh Everytime i come. They got combos and 6-8 rolls for $6.00 a round. Or full boxes for 13.95. Absolutely amazing and a must try. The scenery and decor takes me back to a Japanese diner in a small town. Businesses only survive in Vancouver is the food is consistent and great! Thank you and God bless“

“Delicious! Sushi at a simple understated restaurant. Nice presentation, good portion, sizes, and great prices. The futamaki fat rolls were fantastic and so was the tempura. Hand rolls are more like a taco than a cone, and the tempura looks different but it is delicious. Everything was fresh and had balanced seasoning and flavors. Friendly people with good service. Parking out front and also the street behind and a park close by.“
