I got the meal for one ($25) which came with beef shoyu ramen, Tokyo fries, and a Sprite (no refills though) Everything was tasty and fresh—the ramen broth was rich and flavorful, and the fries were a nice side. “I ordered omakase nigiri, mackerel and eel hako sushi, black cod saikyo yaki, and agedashi-tofu to takeout for our anniversary dinner. All of them are amazing! Especially, mackerel hako sushi was the best of all mackerel that I ate in Canada. Not only the fish, sushi rice was so good! Thanks to these great foods, we could spend the great anniversary! If you are looking for the real Japanese amazing sushi, I strongly recommend Yugafu!“

“Great food and even better service. We went with our 11 month old and dining out with an infant can be a challenge. The servers have always been lovely every time we’ve been here. They give us a highchair and cup of water with a straw and they’re great with our kid (they say hi, smile at him, and even interact with him from afar, which he loves!) “Accidentally found this hidden sushi place while waiting my daughter. The girl and the boy who got my order are so nice and very friendly. The sushi roll is superb, it’s so delicious. I tried salmon avocado cream cheese, and for take out spicy salmon roll and tuna avocado roll and agedashi tofu. I really like Japanese food ever since but this one that I tried was so good. I definitely go back with my kids, and we will try the other food.“

“We(family) went there for dinner for the first time last week. For us leaving this review was quite easy. Food was tasty. Service was very prompt and fast. The portions were great and price was affordable and for me great for the portion and taste they served. The place and seating looks a bit worn but it was neat although cold air was coming through the heating vents for quite some time when they switched on the heater that kept us cold for longer than expected. Will definitely come back again to try other dishes. BTW I never thought my fav friend rice will be from a Japanese restaurant. I liked it. Teriyaki beef and Donburi was good too.“

“I love everything that I ordered today, the pork katsu and shrimp curry was amazing, so crunchy, and with the sauce plus the sesame seeds that you grinded yourself while you waited for the meal to come, it smelled good and fresh. I also like the cabbage salad with its sauce and miso soup on the side. Although to me it's a bit pricier than other restaurants, I left the place feeling full and satisfied.“

“This place is a staple for sushi this side of fraser valley. It's easily the best sushi in fleetwood and is always consistent in freshness of ingredients, quality of food presentation and flavor, and is an all around gem and pleasure to be here.

The trays are on point, and the Aburi, Sashimi and appies are unrivaled. Coming to Tobiko sushi feels like coming home in no small way. Staff and chefs are always courteous and welcoming. Love this place!!“

“Sushi is pretty good and reasonable for the price! Only con is they MADE us pay 25 cents for a bag.... they insisted a bag was needed to carry the platter (we got a combo), even though we had carry bags of our own, some of which are quite large.

We thought it would be wide enough to carry the platter by the handles but the platter was still in sideways, and we still had to carry it by holding the bottom. So.... we didn't need the bag after all.

4 stars for that reason, otherwise the place is fine for sushi.“

“I’ve literally been coming here since it opened, approximately 19 years ago, and the quality has not wavered! The food is beyond excellent and the service is wonderful! My family and I love it here! This is my comfort food and my celebratory food, and everything in between!

My favourite must-try’s are the Crab meat mushroom, agedashi tofu, kani sunomono, dynamite & California rolls, and the Teriyaki Box (beef or chicken).“

Fast friendly service for a family of 6. I ordered the single size spicy chirashi salad bowl, it was huge! Full of fresh sashimi. Family all enjoyed their meals as well: Reno and sockeye rolls, two ebi sunomono salads (at least 8 pieces of shrimp), karaage, California rolls for the kids, miso soup, chicken roll and fighting shrimp roll.

Kami is hands down one of the best Japanese restaurants in the area. The food is always fresh, beautifully presented, and full of authentic flavor. I tried their sushi rolls and tempura, both were perfectly made and bursting with taste. The portions are a bit less as compared to other Japanese restaurants.

The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. The restaurant has a cozy, inviting atmosphere, perfect for a casual dinner or a special night out.

They had many vegetarian options, and the staff was knowledgeable and helpful when I needed help selecting items. If I had to give some constructive criticism, I would say:
1. The decor is a bit strange and disjointed. It feels more like a trendy coffee bar than a sushi spot.
2. Marking vegetarian options clearly is always helpful! Some places do this with a V, or with a leaf. You could also consider marking allergens like eggs or nuts.“

I could only give 4 stars this time because the salmon maki, which usually is made with strips of salmon, was made with minced/mushy salmon and was very bland. It’s the first time I’ve received it this way and it was disappointing. Hopefully it was a one-off?? The avocado roll was also disappointing as the ratio of rice to avocado was way off (note that the avocado was still green unlike; photo was taken later once it oxidized a bit). The rest of their food was good, as always. Generous portions of sashimi.“

“A hidden gem in the Surrey Central area with quality sushi and fast, friendly service all for reasonable prices.I love eating from here and have gone 3 or 4 times now, ordering their Salmon Combo usually and seaweed salad- both of which are filling and quite delicious. The california roll is made with soft white and fluffy rice and the classic california filling. The nigiri is fresh and yummy. The service is fast and friendly, the lady who runs the store is very nice and the man who makes the sushi does a careful job. Do not hesitate to order.“
