“Quite the authentic Thai food on one of our last days during World Cup. Saw their hotel directory, and we totally for the hotel concierge offering 10% off for the Grand Park hotel guests but didn't matter, as compared to back home, pretty good value and enjoyed the atmosphere..

“I really like their pad Thai! Good portion! Authentic flavour, sweet with lots of tamarind in it. Good wok taste as well. The only thing is they use green onion in lieu of chives, and they don’t give enough fresh bean sprout on the side.

Their papaya salad is disappointing. Medium spicy is barely spicy at all, more like mild. They also use bottle lime and you can taste it! The overall flavour is just not there. Portion is also quite small (just a bunch of lettuce underneath to increase the volume).

I didn’t get it this time but I remember loving their spring rolls because it tasted just like in Thailand!“

“We had such a wonderful dining experience here. Every dish was presented with so much care and attention to detail. I especially loved the beautiful presentation of the steamed fish with fresh lemon slices, which tasted just as vibrant as it looked.

The variety of dishes we ordered was impressive. The shrimp were arranged perfectly on the plate, making the whole meal feel like a special occasion. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable and delicious meal.“

“This is seriously great food at a really good price point! After tax the combo (curry, rice, soup, salad and drink) is under $18! I’ve only ever had the green curry cause I am obsessed with it but will branch out soon. The gentleman who works behind the counter is so kind and friendly. Love this place!“

“This truck has been at the Uber Eats Canada Soccer House in North Vancouver multiple times during FIFA. I must say, I get excited every time I see them. Fantastic food, great staff. If you have the streetfood app that shows their schedule, keep an eye out, they are worth the walk or drive. Pad Thai is out of the park.“

“Delicious noodles! Prompt service. Tom yum was the perfect level of sour and spicy. Got out with the thick noodles which had a really nice chew. I don’t usually love shrimp, but these were fresh as they had a nice bounce.

Only down part is that it’s really warm - perhaps not enough AC / fan. Air circulation not great, but otherwise the space is cozy and cute.“

“Came here to try and it was good! Im not a fan of Pad Thai but no nits one of my fave. Panang Curry is one of a kind. And the Grilled Chicken is tasty! But my fave and my first time trying is the Tom Kha. This is where Thai food shines, dishes with coconut milk. Only thing is: seats arent that comfy (atleast for me), table for 3 is a little too small for 3 and they should get a bigger place.

“Prepare to be transported to Thailand! The owners are incredibly kind are welcoming, and bring the underrepresented Central Thai flavors to Vancouver. Pad Thai, Green Curry, Larb moo, pineapple fried rice, and roti were all prepared with generous portions of fresh ingredients and full flavored spices. Go for the fresh coconut to cool down. Plenty of free parking off of main street. Highly recommended.“

“Solid, classic, “Canadian” Thai food, but a little expensive for what it is.

The service was very warm, ambiance was classic and food was yummy! I got a Panang curry with two sides of rice and ended up paying over 30$ after tax and tip.

That’s not crazy, but it definitely was the deal I was hoping for.“

“The food was pretty amazing. We had the roti and it was deep fried with a yummy curry sauce on the side. We also ordered a pork jowl and it was a little over spiced for me, but also delicious. We also ordered a special off their poster with a variety and it did not disappoint at all. I felt that their non alcoholic drinks are a little overpriced for what you get, so I would skip it next time.

This place is tiny with only a handful of tables and they fill up VERY fast, so go early or be sure to make a reservation to avoid waiting for a long time.

Staff was SUPER nice. Was very apologetic for making sit at the counter by the window, because there was no other table, but we were perfectly fine with it.

Parking is a little challenging, as there was not alot of parking on Knight Street, so you will need to find parking on the residential side streets.“

“What a nice surprise. If you’re looking for a little taste of Thailand and a cozy atmosphere, check this place out. My husband and I had the lunch Pad Thai and the red curry, both were excellent. Friendly service too. Highly recommend if you like Thai food or want to try something new.“

“This was our first time eating here, and I have to say the food and flavors were beyond anything we expected! Honestly, we didn’t have high expectations, but this place exceeded them all.

The flavors of every dish we ordered were outstanding. They combined ingredients and flavors in such a creative way that every bite was absolutely delicious.

My husband ordered the Kao Pad Sapparod (Pineapple Fried Rice) and a small Tom Kha soup, and I had the Crying Tiger Beef.

Everything was amazing. The steak in my dish was cooked perfectly, and paired with the sauce, it created a truly unique and delicious combination. The Tom Kha soup had a wonderful creamy coconut flavor, and the way it was blended with the shrimp was simply perfect. In fact, the soup ended up being our favorite dish. The Pineapple Fried Rice was also incredible—we had never tried rice with pineapple before, and it completely surprised us.

We left wanting to try everything else on the menu, so we will definitely be back. This has become the best restaurant we’ve visited since moving to Vancouver. Highly recommended!“

“My kid and I were in the area today because there was a store we wanted to check out. Of course, it was closed. So we ended up wandering a bit and stumbled across Papaya Hut, figured why not, and went in for lunch.

We were invited to seat ourselves, and a friendly woman came over pretty quickly with menus and water, which I was genuinely grateful for because it was a scorcher outside. I'm in my fifties, so between the heat, the walk over, and a little help from menopause, I was fanning myself like crazy even with the AC running. I always carry a little handheld fan for exactly this reason, and when she came back to take our order, she complimented me on it, which was such a sweet, unexpected touch.

I got the green beans, and my kid ordered the spring rolls since they weren't all that hungry. The food came out fast, faster than I expected, and it looked really good. I eat a lot of green beans, they're probably my favorite dish overall, and these were excellent. They came with rice and a spring roll on the side, and honestly both were so good I couldn't tell you which I liked more.

We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area. Good food, kind service, and a happy accident of a lunch stop.“

“After discovering this place, we have visited 5x in 2 weeks. Amazing pay-by weight hot pot place with extremely high quality broth. It is not too busy and the servers are so attentive/friendly. The broths are very flavourful, the Tom yum and fish maw chicken are our favorites. Their Taiwanese chicken nuggets and golden buns are also delicious. They do not charge extra for take out containers in case you cannot finish your food, which is a plus!

Tip: come before 5pm for their lunch special. You get so much food for the price, comes with choice of drink and dessert. The appies are also $3 off with the lunch special.“

“I recently visited Thai Basil and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! The food was truly outstanding. I ordered the mixed vegetables, fresh salad, fish cakes, and a few other dishes and every single item was delicious. The flavors were authentic, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. The variety on the menu is impressive and everything I tried exceeded my expectations. If you’re looking for great Thai food, Thai Basil is the place to go. I will definitely be coming back for more. Highly recommended!“
