“Excellent food and service. Special note of the gracious person on the phone who explained their reservation system and dining options. Would be 5 stars, but the room is small, and the volume generated by the one large group the last time we were there made it impossible for us to have a normal level conversation. This was not our experience other times when seating was tables of 4 or less so we will be back.“
“It was my first time eating here. We ordered Pad thai and spring rolls and it was so tasty. There are spicy and non-spicy options for Pad Thai. I tried both and they were delicious!!And spring rolls were also great. The surface was crispy and making an amazing pair with sweet chili sauce!!“
“Thai away is my favourite Thai food in Metro Vancouver. We ordered papaya salad, Tom yum soup, Pad Thai and Thai ice tea. Everything is so delicious and tasted the same with the food that we had in Thai. The staffs are very nice and friendly. Highly recommend “
“"From the moment I stepped into Tayla Thai, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of warmth and authenticity. The restaurant's elegant decor and inviting ambiance set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The menu boasted a delightful array of Thai dishes, each expertly crafted with fresh, flavorful ingredients that transported my taste buds to Thailand. I savored every bite of their Pad Thai, which was perfectly balanced with just the right amount of tanginess and spice. The friendly and attentive staff made me feel like a valued guest, ensuring that every aspect of my meal was impeccable. Tayla Thai is a true gem, offering exceptional cuisine and hospitality that keeps me coming back for more. I can't recommend it highly enough!"“
“We went for the set menu and it was amazing for the price. Every dish was spectacular and really showcased what Thai food is all about.Only criticism I have is that the food could have come a little slower so we can enjoy our wine and order more wine with our food. A wine accompaniment would have been nice.Favourite dishes were the oysters, shrimp toast, slow cooked duck curry, Sebastian’s bok choy.Kid-friendliness: There are high chairs. 2x“
“Finally, I had a chance to stop into Fat Mao and they didn't disappoint. Was also glad i beat in the lunch rush.Ordered the roti and spicy boat noodles. I was happy that the roti wasn't oily, it was nicely cooked & crispy. The spicy boat noodles were flavourful and definitely a good serving size. Can't wait to go back.“
“An elevated and unique Asian restaurant in the area that is clean and a little away from the traffic on Granville. My chicken was delicious and fell off the bone, the curry broth was flavourful as well. The iced tea was also good but nothing out of the ordinary.“
“Love this place!! The most authentic in all of Vancouver. DELICIOUS chicken wings, fried rice, pad kee mao, garlic prawns...I've enjoyed everything I've tried. Wonderful, friendly people too! I always get extra spicy and they get it just right ?“
“Best Thai food in the town!I’ve been trying different Thai restaurants and this is the best.Really flavorful tamarind Pad Thai!!!! Some restaurants don’t use tamarind sauce but tomato sauce instead. This Pad Thai is the best one I’ve tried so far and they can do really spicy too ( more than Thai spicy ).Not only Pad Thai but other dishes are good too, such as Khao Soi chicken, pad see ew, curries and soup. The chef is from Thailand and has decades of experience. She said customers are like her kids and she enjoys making delicious food for us and seeing us eating happily!Highly recommend!!!!!!Parking: Underground parking“
“My mother and I are good friends with the owner of the restaurant. We decided to support her local business in the community. Our family was a big group and we managed to all fit in including our four family dogs. No reservations are accepted as we had to arrive a little earlier for our family group to be accommodated. Our family enjoyed dining out on the patio. Our water glasses were always filled, except our supper came later for four patrons as the other part of the group were almost finished. Overall the wait staff service was smooth and efficient. The prices seemed affordable for Thai cuisine. All payments were made on time and we would all return in the future to dine there. The restaurant is small with only two washrooms.“
“Delicious meals! We go once a week. Most of salad meals(Yamwoonsen and pork salad) are delicious. I recommend pat see Ew and Pineapple fried rice. Other menus are great too. Highly recommend it.Vegetarian options: Lots of tofu and veggie option available. I am not sure about vegan options.Kid-friendliness: They provide kids plates. Most of food are shareable.“
“Fresh authentic flavors. Massive portions. A little bit too salty for me. I think we tried almost everything on the menu. the only thing was the beef was a little overcooked. Besides everything being a little bit too salty. BeautifulDietary restrictions: Unfortunately, I have quite a few dietary restrictions and allergies. Which makes it difficult to eat out sometimes. They were incredibly accommodating. And they didn’t make me feel like was being difficult.“
“The owner was so accommodating and kind. He provided us with a complete experience and great recommendations. Some of the best Thai food we’ve ever had! The restaurant was cosy, felt authentic and yet modern. Highly recommend the crying tiger beef and red curry, especially if you’re looking for spicy food, they adjust it to your preference and it was perfection. Best Thai iced tea as well!! This is going to be our regular spot for sure.“
“Food: Pad Kee Mao-Chicken (Medium Spice)Quenched every cravingService: Top Notch service, hostess was cheerful and help me figure out which menu item best suited my hunger ? n' nailed it?Atmosphere: 3.5 rounded upPersonally a unique craft beer selection would be unique and give the atmosphere a higher rating in my opinion n' some kinda X factor.... Unique to every thailicious location"Same but different" - Movie Quote“
“I am a student in Emily Carr. I guess they are family, whenever I go there, they're always friendly and kind, lovely family!! I had two curry from here. Both of them were tasty and excellent deals! much chicken and veggies inside with good cooked rice♡I miss it today, it's already 2 12 pm “
“A hidden gem in the city. Service was so friendly, I felt like I was being welcomed in to someone’s home as our server explained different items and signature dishes on the menu. Food itself is among, if not the best Thai I’ve had in Vancouver. Papaya salad was just ok, but the shrimp pad Thai and the red curry style dish we got was so flavourful. Loved the Thai iced tea. I thought prices were a bit high at first but portions are quite large - especially the curry! The restaurant itself is no frills - only room for about 8 guests at a first come first serve basis, clean but minimal effort put in to dining area. I’m in this neighbourhood frequently and can’t wait to go back!“
“Such a joy! My first time here and it was so wonderful, plus the food we ordered is very delicious! I ordered the Masamun Curry Chicken with rice. (Yum!) So good, I promise, you will LOVE it! The service was excellent, they were very kind and it made the whole experience pleasant! High recommend! I hope to visit again before the end of our trip in Vancouver!“
“Very high quality and authentic Thai food. Highly recommend their dish Pad Kee Mao, perfect balance of spicy and sweet and you can taste the freshness of basil leaves and the green pepper is actually flavorful and spicy, not like the bell pepper you buy in the store. About 20 dollar a dish, which is not expensive considering the amount of veggies and meat they put in your dish and the portion is very filling. Will definitely come back in the future.“
“We've been customers here for about 8 years now. We've probably either eaten at the restaurant or ordered takeout about 100 times over the years and I can confidently say we have never ever been disappointed. The food is so tasty, authentic, with generous portions and very consistent recipes. Oh, and service is always impeccable. You can tell this is a family owned business and we love supporting it. Please do yourself a favor and order their spring rolls, BKK pad thai and literally any curry. Oh, the Thai iced tea is so worth it if you're ordering a spicy dish as it contains milk.“
“Absolutely delicious and a great price for the portion! I would definitely suggest going out of your way to go. I especially loved the home made roasted peanutsVegetarian options: Great options for vegetarians, they were very accommodating and offered to remove the meat from most menu items“
“The vibe on this place is very much simple. The rush of customers in and out with a very satisfied look on their faces. I am one of them. The food is very good and will recommend. This is our place if we want to spoiled our appetite.Try Laksa and Pad Thai ? ???“
“This restaurant does not take reservations so we waited around 30-40min for a table. Absolutely worth the wait. So far the best Thai I have found in Vancouver. The restaurant was busy and buzzing with energy. The staff were accommodating, friendly and all around great. After a negative experience at their sister restaurant Song, this was a welcome change. We ordered pad see ew chicken, Tom yum, green curry tofu, sticky rice, and papaya salad. Rave reviews for the Tom yum. It is on the pricier side ($26) but the best Tom yum nam sai style I’ve had in Vancouver. The papaya salad was lacking a bit compared to others I’ve tried but that was the only dish we liked not loved. The tofu in the curry was crisp and juicy. The eggplant and bamboo in the curry were lovely as well. I thought the crispy onion garnish on the pad see ew was a tasty fun addition. Overall we thought the price and portions were reasonable and would absolutely recommend and revisit.“
“This place is our go to for takeout. The veggies in the pineapple fried rice taste fresh and not from the freezer, and the tamarind pad thai is always perfect. Food prep is very quick and the pick up is always so pleasant. Would absolutely recommend.“
“Update a year later: Still the best Thai in the area. Too bad they are moving off the Drive.Older review: First time trying this place: Panang curry w/chicken, Green curry w/tofu, Pad thai w/prawns and veg spring rolls. All tasted great. Best spring rolls I've had in a long time!“
“I rate this place according to its pretensions. It is a fine neighborhood Cafe. The coffee is good. So is its baking. The service is friendly and efficient. It is rarely too busy, so it is a preferred venue for conversations. Also, it is reasonably priced.I have yet to sample their dinner fare.“
“Ordered the Daily curry along the crispy pork belly ! Curry was super delicious and spicy but not overwhelming. The pork belly on the other hand was small portion and (side order) I feel like they could’ve been a bit more generous with that but none the less overall great food. Also when the Costumer service is not so good you know the food will be great“
“We came for lunch on a saturday afternoon. Just beautiful food presentation with fresh ingredients, and a lovely warm atmosphere. Waitstaff was so friendly and fast! And for less than $40 total it was incredibly affordable too. We will be back!Vegetarian options: Plenty of veggie options“
“Ordered the chicken pad thai today and was so pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I've been searching around Vancouver for pad thai that doesn't taste like ketchup, and it's been quite difficult. The pad thai portion was already VERY generous and I will definitely be coming back again. Thank you to the ladies working the truck today. Very nice people.“
“I recently visited Pink Elephant Cafe, a charming little spot in the heart of the city, and it was a delightful experience. The cafe boasts a whimsical, yet cozy interior with pastel colors and playful elephant decor that immediately sets a cheerful mood. Their menu offers a variety of options, but I highly recommend the signature Pink Latte, a unique blend of beetroot and espresso that's not only visually stunning but also surprisingly tasty. The pastries, especially the lemon poppy seed muffin, were fresh and perfectly balanced in flavor.“
“Our favorite Thai restaurant by far. Cheap but everything is prepared fresh. The chicken Satay is super moist and the dipping sauce is so delish. The Pad Thai is one of the best!!! Place is small but always full.Parking: The street is busy and so parking may be a challenge.“
“Childhood memory. Service is ok not super friendly but it’s normal as most HK restaurants service are similar to the Vietnamese service. This is their culture. I like their interior design and atmosphere. The portion is very small.I ordered Thai chicken feet and half of the plate is lettuce. Wont order this dish anymore.“
“DELICIOUS food for EXCELLENT price!! Very authentic with Thailandese cooks, very delicious food, good music. The dish Pad Khing was my favorite, followed by the red curry and the pad thai. The dishes are very well-served with a lot of food. We ordered the lunch combo (from 11:30am to 3pm, which is $14.99 per plate and all the plates go accompanied with rice and salad and 2 spring rolls).Vegetarian options: There are vegan options.Dietary restrictions: Vegan options.“
“Went for the first time with family. Overall I was surprised and happy with the service and food. The seat was available right away and food service was great as well. We didn’t get to try much options because we didn’t have the appetite. Next time looking forward to trying more dishes on the menu. I did find their fried rice to lack flavor and just plain rice with chicken which aren’t really traditional Thai rice which comes with egg and spicy sauces.“
“Cheap and cheerful neighbourhood gem. I usually come for the $16 lunch special which includes salad and a spring roll. My favourite is the seasonal vegetables in a garlic sauce, or the pad Thai. Friendly staff, typically ornate decor. Spotless bathrooms. Simple, healthy food beautifully presented. They do a large take out business with the hospital staff.Vegetarian options: Most dishes can be made vegetarian or vegan if fish sauce is omitted. Rice noodles are usually gluten free. Vegetarian Spring rolls are particularly good here“
“Rice and Noodle on Robson offers a diverse and flavorful menu, showcasing a blend of traditional and modern dishes. The cozy ambiance and attentive service contribute to a delightful dining experience. The restaurant's central location and inviting atmosphere make it a prime choice for a satisfying meal while exploring the vibrant Robson area.“
“Matt and the Bao Down team kindly sponsored our food and catering services for our Filipino-Canadian indie film "Three Ates and a Wedding". The cast and crew absolutely loved all of the asian fusion dishes they made over our 3 day shoot. Matt was super accommodating regarding special dietary requirements including vegan and dairy-free options, too. Make sure to try the brussel sprouts - they are delicious!“
“Ordered coconut green curry chicken & iced Thai tea for lunch.Green curry is sweet and delicious, gentle on the tired body. The spring rolls that come with it are also crispy and delicious. It's reasonably priced at lunchtime, so there are a lot of customers.Vegetarian options: Tofu“
