“We had the BEST feed last night from Ongba. Coming home from our Fringe run we were too tired to cook - and boy am I glad. The portions were generous, the rolls on the Banh Mi were so fresh, loved all the pickled bits and curry mayo...the Prawn Salad rolls with dipping sauce were huge and tasty...it was exactly what we wanted. The guy on the phone made double sure he had our order correct which I appreicated. Such a cute place (with patio) but we got takeout so nobody had to watch us gobble it down like animals. I recently tried the 1978 Pho Soup and the Saigon Bowl both were standouts! The pho had a rich, aromatic broth with perfect layers of lemongrass, ginger, turmeric, star anise and tender chicken it felt deeply comforting and well balanced, with great fresh herbs and noodles that soaked up the flavour beautifully. Both dishes were generously portioned and full of vibrant Vietnamese flavours perfect for a cozy lunch or dinner.

“The food here is excellent! Linda (owner) is the sweetest & most kind hearted person. She & her husband who's a chef behind the scene runs this eatery. They take utmost care to all who comes hungry or not. I've known & followed her long time. Ever since the time she use to be at International Village mall food court in Chinatown location and now here in this City Centre mall. Every food & beverages she serves is made with love & care. I got to know her personally and she's an amazing person!
Wherever I'm cold & feeling sick she gives me the pho' noodles soup & she makes the hot lime tea which is instantly comforting! She's cares like a family to me. <3

“This time I ordered a chicken dish with rice, and it was pretty good. The price was reasonable and quite affordable. It’s more of a casual lunch spot nothing fancy or elegant, but the service was very good. They offer water or tea, which was a nice touch.

My girlfriend ordered a beef soup, and she thought it was good as well, but nothing particularly special. Overall, our experience wasn’t bad at all, but based on the dishes we chose, we probably wouldn’t come back. Maybe they have a hidden gem on the menu that we didn’t try.

“Pho Khan is one of the few Vietnamese restaurants that still offers a choice of bowl sizes, which is a great touch. The restaurant is clean with a pretty, welcoming interior. The satay pho had a rich, flavorful broth, and the spring rolls were fresh and crispy. Everything came out hot and stayed hot throughout the meal. The vermicelli bowl was light and refreshing, with crisp vegetables and perfectly marinated pork. Excellent food and great attention to detail — I’ll definitely be returning!“

“I really want to give this a 4 or 4.5 but I’m giving them a 5 because the potential is definitely there - and I would like to encourage them in that journey!
The service was attentive, friendly and polite, but when asked direct questions, the answers were cryptic possibly cheeky but nonetheless unclear. It is already a bit awkward to grab the attention of a busy server, and to be left with non-answers was a bit frustrating.
The food was tasty and inventive. We had their tasting menu and each dish had a balance of so many flavours. But I guess that’s sort of my complaint, it was like some dishes trying to accomplish too much that each dish sort of tasting the same. All dynamic in flavour but it was one pow after another. Possibly not a bad thing for many people!
Interior was very cool!!! Even the outside patio was very nice. We sat a the bar and fridge door would open and close in bright cool color that strained my eyes after being in a dark room.
Broadly speaking what a fun place for a date night, but the restaurant has a few details it could iron out at its price point.“

We were looking for interesting selections of Vietnamese food that is not just Pho, and the food we had here went above and beyond our expectations. Crab fried rice was surprisingly good and the goat curry came in a big pot with a candle warmer, and kept the nice warm coconut curry flavour for longer. I was never a fan of goat curry before this, but if every goat curry is cooked this way, I will be able to eat. Wish I have taken more pictures. All the drinks and plates were nicely presented and overall it was nice and pleasant experience. Will definitely visit again.“

“My Vietnamese friends told me this is a rare soup and hard to find. The fish cakes were very good and I’m glad they sliced them thin. I don’t know how I feel about dill in Vietnamese soup. The broth was a tad on the sweeter side but this is my first time trying it so I don’t know it’s authentically supposed to be the sweet. You can taste the fish/shrimp paste as a main flavor component.“

We had the most amazing experience at La Chuoi Cuisine! I went with my best friend for her birthday, and from start to finish, everything was perfect. We ordered the Banh Xeo, Spring Rolls, and Chicken Pho — and wow, every single dish was bursting with authentic Vietnamese flavors. Fresh, flavourful, and made with so much care.

Harry and his brother Jerry are incredible hosts — warm, friendly, and genuinely passionate about their food. You can feel their pride in every dish, and it truly makes the dining experience special.

“Another Kingsway classic. I use to drive all the way here from North Burnaby late nights to come eat the Pho Ga. ( big chunks of free range chicken )They open quite late. Only east van still has late Pho joints. Came back here for the first time after 2 yrs of traveling abroad. Same taste and flavours. Seems like they cut back a little on the portion size but shrinkflation is real in Vancouver! They have been feeding the community for a while now and the tables were all full when we visited on a weekend. We will be back soon whenever we are in the area“
