“There was only one other table of guests besides us during the meal today on Wednesday night.
However, after asking, I found out that the main business here is the central kitchen. Most of the Vietnamese pho you usually see in the food court is theirs.
Each portion of the meal is quite large, and the seasoning is also very authentic.
This is a store I will visit again!“

“Came with my two friends and sat outside on the patio for dinner. It is right down the road for us but none of us had ever been before or know anyone that had been. We came around 830 and it was very quiet two other tables. To be fair I have never seen it busy but the service was good and a lady played the piano near the end of the night which was wonderful. I thought the food was good ordered a combo and we all shared an escargot. Not super healthy and probably not the highest quality but good value for the combos. Clearly are in need of some marketing and good reviews. Give it a try if you live in the area. The patio has a nice feel to it.“

“We had the BEST feed last night from Ongba. Coming home from our Fringe run we were too tired to cook - and boy am I glad. The portions were generous, the rolls on the Banh Mi were so fresh, loved all the pickled bits and curry mayo...the Prawn Salad rolls with dipping sauce were huge and tasty...it was exactly what we wanted. The guy on the phone made double sure he had our order correct which I appreicated. Such a cute place (with patio) but we got takeout so nobody had to watch us gobble it down like animals. Great to take to the beach too. 😋 Highly recommend!“

“My family and I have been coming here for over ten years and are very happy with the consistently amazing quality and service at this restaurant. All the food we have tried are great and make for comforting meals in all climates. Great prices for the quantity served and we are looking forward to coming back in the future!“

“This place reminds me of a bowl of Pho in Vietnam eg. “Pho Le” Simplistic and authentic. I’ve had everything from Cafe Dang Ang to Pho Duy, and this spot is my favourite alongside Linh Cafe which has a richer broth.

The side condiments are fresh and the beef they use for their Pho Tai is tender and adds a beefiness when cooked in the hot broth.

Their spring rolls are made using Rice Paper and are one of the best in the city. (I personally like the Hanoi style from Cafe Dang Anh)

Pho Tan is famous for their Satay Beef Pho #19 but their entire menu is delicious.

The service is also exceptional, very warm and attentive. They always check up on you.“

“My first visit and it was exactly how my friend describes it, great atmosphere with even greater food for one’s palette“

“After seeing some great reviews here, I was hoping for some good Vietnamese food. We ordered the House Special Pho, Banh Xeo, and Beef Stew. The pho was okay, and I appreciated that the soup wasn’t sweet like some other pho I’ve tried in Vancouver. The Banh Xeo was pretty good; I liked that it came with plenty of vegetables and was perfectly crispy.

As for the beef stew, it was my first time trying Vietnamese-style beef stew. It had a slight curry-like flavor and lacked a bit of the "kick", but I still enjoyed it with the accompanying baguette.

Overall, I liked that the food wasn’t salty or heavily seasoned. I also appreciated the young staff member, who seemed to be the owner, for consistently checking on our table throughout the meal“

“This is my favorite weekly go-to place! Love their no-msg pho, grilled pork and chicken, stewed beef, etc. Their special homemade off-menu items always surprise me… seafood pho, chicken pho, shrimp dumplings, seafood spring rolls, etc. Got a chance to try their crab soup noodles today and it was amazingly tasty. It came with two huge crab cakes which were made with real crab meats and seasoned with dried shrimps. It was definitely the best crab soup noodles in town!“

“I’ve tried their Bun Bo Hue, Rare Beef Pho, and Pork Meatballs Baguette. The baguette was amazing, the meatballs were savory with authentic Vietnamese toppings and I love that they used Vietnamese Banh Mi. Bun Bo Hue was good but nothing out of this world, I still think you can get a more authentic taste elsewhere. I ordered their Rare Beef Pho through Doordash and it was tasty. However, the order wasn’t packed carefully so the soup leaked out. Overall, this is a decent place, they just need to improve on packing to-go orders tho.“

“I visited this restaurant with my Vietnamese friend, or I would have been utterly clueless about how to order. Bun refers to vermicelli noodles, which are distinct from Thai noodles. While the noodles were satisfactory, the soup was simply extraordinary. The fried chicken wings were the standout dish. The marinated beef was incredibly tender and lived up to its name, being exceptionally well-marinated.“

“My family enjoyed #7 (dry noodles), #5 and #6 (pho bowls), and I thoroughly enjoyed #39 (lemongrass chicken on rice). Food was served a little slowly and not all at the same time but that’s because the kitchen is literally run by one person (the wife, I believe) and the front of house is run by the husband. He was very friendly and welcoming. The only thing I did not like were the spring rolls. “I had an incredible meal at merci beaucoup cafe! From start to finish, everything was top-notch. The chicken wings were perfectly crispy on the outside while juicy on the inside—so flavorful and addictive. The spring rolls were fresh, with the right balance of crunch and tenderness, paired with a delicious dipping sauce.

For the main course, I tried the curry beef brisket with pho noodles, and it was absolutely fantastic. The beef was tender and the curry had just the right amount of richness and spice. I also had the special beef pho, and I loved how they allowed me to customize the soup base to be spicy. I would call the food "above average". I like the food, just have had a bit better a couple times elsewhere (sadly not in this area). But service is always quick, and friendly. Price is reasonable.“

“What an absolute hidden gem. The Tofu Bahn Mi was quite possibly the best one I've ever had! The sandwich was stuffed with fresh ingredients and was served on garlic bread!! “I've been coming here for about 10 years and I've never been disappointed. Their 3 meat on rice with an egg is my always go to dish but you can't go wrong with anything you order here. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, they make you feel like family. It's a family run and owned business that serves up authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Must try place that is also on doordash.

Parking: there is a parking lot and direct access from the back as well as being surround by residential streets and Victoria. Sometimes you have you park a bit further into residential but the walk isn't that bad.

But the price surprisingly is acceptable along with others' dishes in the menu. The atmosphere of this restaurant is typical outdated decor. If you are on budget and want to eat Pho, I believe you can try this one.“

“Food is yummy however inside space a bit narrow. There are only 9 items on the menu which is the downside. Everything is a bit spicy, even the fried rice. But food tastes great! Price on the high point, a regular bowl of pho is $19.5. With above concerns even their food is yummy I won’t revisit though.“

You can also reheat by pan frying it but I find it makes it even more salty.“
