Other reviews said parking was a challenge, but we parked in the parking lot just east of the restaurant.”

“I really did not want to like this establishment. We lived in Redlands for more than ten years and never once visited until this past Sunday. Tartan of Redlands just never stood out. The only reason why we are here was because someone else chose this location.

The inside was really dark—perfect if someone needs to have a good cry or a bad hair day. The tables were dimly lit with one candle per table. The waitress was friendly and helped us with waters and making recommendations for food options. So far, the impression was lackluster.

While the everything was greatly overcharged, the food actually made up for it. We ordered a porterhouse steak, medium-rare and opted for two sides (French fries and vegetables) rather than the house soup. A good measure of a restaurant is whether or not they can cook to the requested temperature. The medium-rare was in fact a medium-rare—juicy, tender with a warm pink center. An even better measure of a restaurant is how they prepare their vegetables. The porterhouse came with asparagus and carrots that were roasted and seasoned with sweet caramelization and crispy exterior.

I definitely want to come back in a Saturday to try their prime rib.”

“Baba’s Hot Chicken is located inside Redlands Public Market, a food court housed in a historic 1890 landmark packing house. The inside of this place is nicely decorated and lively. The staff were very friendly. They gave me a warm welcome. I ordered one mini Baba’s Hot Chicken Sandwich, one mini Loaded Fries, and one cup of creamy Mac & Cheese. The food was extremely good, excellent, and impressive. The Loaded Fries were especially amazing - packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. I loved the food so much and finished it in no time!

I enjoyed the food very much. I had an amazing time. A great place for delicious Chicken Sandwiches, Loaded Fries, and Mac & Cheese. I’ll definitely be coming back soon to try more of their Chicken Sandwiches and Loaded Fries.”

Preeti and Ahmed are always warm and welcoming. Their biryani may be the specialty, but their menu truly goes beyond biryani. I especially love the chole and Gobi Manchurian. The food is consistently delicious, the portions are generous, and the service is quick.

We recently celebrated a friend’s milestone birthday here. They reserved a separate area for our group, prepared a special menu upon request, and even stayed open beyond their usual hours so we could celebrate without feeling rushed.

The inviting ambiance and personal hospitality make every visit special. Redlands is lucky to have Beyond Biryani. Highly recommend!”

“Good, strong coffee. The place is very spacious. Has plenty of outlets for students or for doing work. High top tables with stools and plenty of low top tables and chairs. They have a book check out wall similar to a library. Entrance in the front and the back. They have merchandise by the order window and art and plants for sale inside. Parking can be difficult, especially on the weekends. Large menu. You're sure to find something. LGBTQ+ friendly. It did take over 10 minutes for a pour over with no one else in the store. Other than that the place was very cool.”

The inside of Lappert’s Super Premium Ice Cream is stunningly decorated and perfect in appearance. I absolutely loved their island-inspired design and the laid-back ambiance. The staff were friendly, humble, welcoming, and incredibly cooperative. They offer an extensive menu featuring mouthwatering Ice cream, Smoothies, Desserts, and Drinks. I chose Brownie Sundae with Pistachio, Double Fudge Chocolate, and Vanilla Ice Cream. They beautifully decorated the dessert with toppings like Sprinkles, Peanuts, Chocolate Syrup, Whipped Cream, and a Cherry on top, making it look even more photogenic and irresistible. I took a few snaps of my beautifully decorated dessert and started devouring it without further delay. The dessert was so bomb! It was extremely good, excellent, and impressive. I loved it so much and finished it in 10 minutes! I enjoyed the dessert. I had an amazing time and it’s no surprise that why Lappert’s Super Premium Ice Cream was crowned San Bernardino County’s Best Ice Cream in 2025. A great place for Ice Cream, Smoothies, Dessert, and Drinks. The prices are quite reasonable and budget-friendly. I’ll definitely be coming back soon to try more of their Dessert items and Ice Cream.”

That’s when Tyler completely turned my morning around. He was incredibly kind and understanding and went out of his way to make my drink and food for me. “I’ve been eating at Rosa Maria‘s since the early 70s. On my 30th birthday, 1978, I received a box of Rosa Maria‘s burritos as I did on my 74th birthday in Utah. I drove down from Utah on or about 15 October 2022 and immediately went to Rosa Maria‘s for a garbage burrito. I have never been so disappointed. You can’t eat in the store, the staff acted like it was an imposition to serve me and the garbage burrito tasted like it’s name sake, garbage. The tortilla was dry there was hardly any meat in it. What happened? Are you writing a book on how to make a restaurant fail ? The next day I went to El burrito in Redlands for a decent burrito. If you continue your practices you will go out of business.”

“Came here for brunch/lunch on a Sunday around 11. Ordered the steak and eggs with the Smoking Monk cocktail. The steak was cooked perfectly, the eggs were great and the included toast was buttered and well made. Didn't need to add anything to the dish in my opinion to enhance it. The drink was also really well made. It's in the adventurous section and I will absolutely be ordering again.

The service was really nice as well. Very welcoming and attentive. My only minor complaint was the seating, 1 person gets a bench seat and the other gets a hard chair with their back to a busy walkway. Staff and guests constantly walking pretty close behind you unless you get lucky and are seated somewhere else with a different orientation.

On the east side was a school bus filled with plants and on the west side was a little candle shop. I ordered the meteorite and an Ube brownie. I sat down on a couch to wait. My order was ready in about 15 minutes. The drink had very good espresso flavor with hints of macadamia. The Ube brownie was moist and not overly sweet. It was more like a cake. I liked both of my choices . I can't wait to try the crater latte. Came back on a Saturday to grab some coffee beans and maybe another drink. It was more busy than the last time so I just grabbed the coffee beans and left. I wonder if you can order ahead. The shop has been here for 2 years and I didn't even know about it. It's very popular and I would recommend it.”

“Pretty good sushi, nice enough atmosphere with cushioned booth seating, decent lighting (dimmer than a lot of restaurants but not swanky mood lighting), and fun decor. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about their establishment and its product, if perhaps a little bit over-eager and leaning in a little hard into being the customer's new best friend. Again, charming and nice people from our experiences (we've been twice now), not bad service at all, and really depends on who your server is that night.

I order rolls at sushi restaurants, and these were good. Can't recall what i ordered, it was a minute ago, and I liked it (I like sushi in general), but it was maybe a bit sweeter than I prefer. There are a few better rolls in Redlands, but a few worse as well. The music and overall sound is a bit louder than ideal, but not the worst i've experienced. Some of the nitty-gritty details tell on the place a bit, like paper napkins instead of cloth and a lot more plastic than i'd like, which give it a sort of institutional fast-casual feel rather than a nicer restaurant feel (even many diners have cloth napkins), in contrast to the trendy atmosphere. Over all I would meet friends or my family here for dinner or perhaps lunch with no major complaints, but probably not a date personally.”

“We ordered a lot of food for take away and they got it all right for all seven people. The containers are not cheap stuff that spills everywhere. The food was absolutely delicious- not one person had any complaints. They are very garlic-forward, which we all love. Definitely will be back. Host on the phone was very helpful and patient with my lengthy order, too.”

“UNDERRATED IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. Marshall, you are doing the thing!!! I have tried so many different coffee shops, in and out of the state and country and this is definitely up on my list now. Such a simple, yet perfect menu. The customer service felt so welcoming and homey, you know he loves the craft he does with the coffee. The seating is so comfy and paired with the quietness, it makes a perfect spot to work or study with little to no distractions. I ordered a blueberry latte with oat milk and his “dirtiest of chai” and wow! After trying it, I told him how amazing the drink was, and he proceeded to tell me that the syrups are all homemade, and you can tell. These drinks were so amazing and it is in a tough spot location wise and can feel like it’s closed but just walk in! It’s an amazing spot and it’s so good. The chai was great, but if you’re a true chai lover, ask for extra chai. Trust me. It’s THAT good you’re going to LOVE it. He also makes his strawberry foam homemade and that was probably the best strawberry foam I’ve ever tried. I can’t wait to come back and try another drink because I know he won’t disappoint. Highly recommend this coffee spot.”

“Better than you might expect! I've been to a couple of vegan Mexican food places around the IE over the years and i'm usually not writing home about it, and often they don't last long. This place is somewhat new but it's worth stopping in sometime. The food is a cut above other vegan Mexican food and the construction of the dishes seems to reasonably reflect its non-vegan counterparts that we all know and love (and CRAVE when we don't eat meat!!). I got a california burrito, and while is still not a one-to-one replacement for the real deal, it's still very good and a robust vegan alternative. I ordered pickup through doordash, so i didn't spend much time inside or engaging with staff, but the owner was working and he seemed kind and helpful in our breif handoff. I would meet someone for lunch here, or dinner with a friend, but probably not a date (except for a take-out date! Keep it in your rolodex for that!)”

Being a senior I always look for “deals” however not here so price was a bit on the high side for me. Their service was awesome and place was very clean.”
