“🥐 Exceptional Pastries and Authentic Persian Flavors
Kandoo Patisserie & Cafe is a standout destination for anyone seeking a true taste of traditional sweets. The first thing you notice upon walking in is the incredible aroma of rosewater, saffron, and cardamom, which sets the stage for what is a very high-quality experience. They offer a wide array of good pastries that are as beautiful to look at as they are to eat. It is rare to find a bakery that balances traditional methods with such consistent freshness, but Kandoo manages to do it perfectly.
🍯 A Deep Dive into Authentic Persian Desserts
What really makes this cafe special is its commitment to authentic Persian desserts.
The Classics: Their selection of Roulet (Persian Swiss rolls) is light and airy, while the Napoleon is crisp and layered with just the right amount of cream.
Specialty Ingredients: You can taste the quality in the ingredients they use—from the premium pistachios to the delicate floral notes that define Middle Eastern confectionery.
Balanced Sweetness: Unlike many commercial bakeries where sugar overpowers everything else, the treats here are subtle and refined, allowing the natural flavors of the nuts and spices to shine through.
Variety: Whether you are looking for dry cookies to pair with tea or decadent, cream-filled pastries for a special occasion, their display case is packed with options that cater to every preference.
☕ Atmosphere and Local Charm
The cafe itself has a warm, welcoming vibe that makes it a great neighborhood hub.
Cozy Seating: It is a nice spot to grab a tea or a Persian coffee and enjoy your pastry in a relaxed environment.
Helpful Service: The staff is knowledgeable and happy to explain the different types of desserts if you aren't familiar with the specific names or ingredients, which makes the experience very approachable for newcomers.
Great for Gifting: They also offer beautifully packaged boxes, making it an easy place to pick up a high-end gift for a dinner party or a holiday.
🥯 Final Thoughts and Recap
To recap, Kandoo Patisserie & Cafe is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates good pastries and wants to explore authentic Persian desserts. The quality is consistently high, and the flavors are incredibly traditional and well-executed. It’s the kind of place where you can tell the bakers take immense pride in their heritage and their craft. Whether you are a regular or trying Persian sweets for the first time, this cafe provides a 5-star experience that will keep you coming back for more.“

“The best cookies I’ve had in a while. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth but these are so so good! I love the new variety of flavors every week and how they’re so unique and different than the generic cookies you buy in the grocery store. The price isn’t too bad either! For a box of 6 cookies it’s $22 but the cookies are HUGE. I can never finish one by myself so I leave them to the rest of my family. Also pro tip download the crumble app so you can earn free rewards. 100 points equals to $10 you can use towards the cookies.“

“This particular branch is located inside Mitsuwa; to the left when you walk in...past Hokkaido Ramen Santouka. They do a great job with the Mochi Donuts here. The Mochi Cupcakes are also very good. While this isn't a standalone venue, the menu here seems to be expanding frequently. In addition to their standard Mochi Donuts they keep adding new items. Not that I'm complaining...just an observation. Actually I'm ecstatic! I haven't seen some of these creative new items before. #Sugar ~ Matcha Mochisada - 5/5 These were amazing. Not too sweet or bitter, perfectly balanced Matcha cream on the inside. ~ Mochi Cupcake Black Sesame - 4/5 Excellent flavor. Not too sweet or bitter and the texture is spot on; delightfully chewy without being too dry. I prefer the Cupcakes over the donuts, better texture for me. ~ Matcha BRIOCHE - 4/5 Another brilliant creation. Mochi Brioche with Matcha cream filling. Delish! Can't wait to see what else they're going to come up with.“

“Every time I visit GK Pastry in Mountain View, I usually get the jalapeño cheddar bread (so satisfyingly good, toasted or not), but this time I tried the tomato cheddar bread—crunchy exterior, soft and chewy interior. Awesome toasted. My other go-to is the chocolate jar cake. The chocolate they use is delicious, not too sweet. This time I had the mixberry jar cake. A nice, change-up. Never disappointed. Definitely try and support this local bakery! They opened a new location in Los Altos, too.“

“I was very charmed by this local donut spot. It is an older establishment (so a little run down which honestly just added to the whole experience for me) but very affordable and clean. Good donuts (very generous raspberry filling), tasty breakfast sandwich, hot diner coffee, the sweetest lady behind the counter, and regulars who were happy to see each other.“

“Close to my hotel so I decided to try it out. Got 2 bagels to try: a salt with plain cream cheese and a poppy seed with strawberry, both were excellent. Wasn’t that hungry but ended up downing them both.
Perfect amount of chew and toasted exactly right, perfect spread to bagel ratio; some places overload it and it gets everywhere when you bite in.
Black Iced coffee tasted great and went perfectly. Overall my morning got off to a terrible start, but these bagels turned it around. I never leave reviews, but I was impressed. I’ll be stopping by again on my next work trip!“

“Mrs. Fields in Valley Fair is elite. Cookies are perfect. Soft, chewy, and just baked to perfection. The gentlemen who served the cookies was friendly, which we appreciated. Sidenote, shame on you heathens leaving one star reviews — there is only one Mrs. Fields located in the San Jose area and you want to shut it down because they didn’t give you milk? Give me a break. Anyone leaving a one star review, just don’t. Because I like eating here. And I don’t want to drive 30 gosh darn minutes to the next closest one. Sheila Washington, who left the one star review below me, can safely be ignored. She must be the Cookie Monster. Anyways, eat cookies from here and support the business.“

“Very yummy creations! The Mango Mouse cake tasted amazing. I can tell they use a lot of real mangos for the flavor to come through :) the textures of the cake were so fun too since it’s a mix of creamy and crunchy. I also love how adventurous they are with their drinks! Haven’t tried their macarons yet (their staples) but I’m sure they are divine. I can tell the owner cares a lot about the product and customer experience. There are some tables inside if you want to eat and chill. I will definitely continue to support this local bakery!“

“I stopped by this Turkish café for what was supposed to be just a quick coffee, but once I saw they also served dinner, I decided to stay and eat.
I started with a traditional Turkish coffee and a slice of Revani, their classic semolina cake. The coffee came in the usual small cup, strong and bold, brewed in true Mediterranean style — simple and excellent. The Revani was moist and soaked in sugar syrup, topped with crushed pistachios. Sweet but not overpowering, it had a delicate aroma and almost reminded me of an Indian-style syrupy dessert. The portion was generous, so I ended up finishing it in two rounds.
For dinner, I ordered a Turkish flatbread topped with what tasted like a sliced beef sausage, cheese - somewhat pizza-like in appearance, but distinctly different in flavor and texture. It was filling and satisfying, though a bit greasy, especially underneath, likely from the cheese and meat. Thankfully, it was served with a fresh side salad of lettuce, tomato, and lemon, which added brightness and balance to the meal.
They have a wide variety of Turkish and Mediterranean pastries and desserts, and I’d definitely return to explore more - maybe even try a proper Turkish breakfast next time.
The café has a large dining room, and when I visited, part of it seemed pre-booked for Ramadan gatherings with set meals. I sat in a side corner and enjoyed my food. Service was a bit slow, I had to ask a few times for basic things like a fork and napkins, but overall, the vibe was warm and lively.
Food-wise, I really enjoyed it, and I’m definitely going back for more. Highly recommended if you enjoy exploring different cuisines and Mediterranean flavors.“
“Necesitas un Pan Dulce fix in Campbell? Been wanting a freshly made Torta? This is the spot! It's that classic hole in the wall business that hooks you up with what you been craving. I been going outside of Campbell to get Pan Dulce for years, and this whole time this business has been behind the Burger King at Winchester and Hamilton. I'm not writing to be tripping off the price of anything. I'm here to confirm the Pan Dulce is great, and that Carne Asada Torta hits the spot! They even sell some full on Cakes that would be perfect for birthday or celebration. Check it out. And don't take all the Maranitos ay. Save me some!“

“Debbie is an absolutely brilliant baker and human all around. Her response time is fantastic, she was SO kind and helpful, and most importantly - her flavors are amazing! After our first tasting, I joked with my fiancé that I wanted her to adopt me. She totally understood our vision with having edible flowers, and the day after the wedding, my family kept raving about the cake and asking if I could get the recipe for the frosting! We never had to worry about a thing with Debbie, she's our fairy god-baker. :)“

“Iced coffee has a good bold flavor.
Le sultan cake is nice, not too sweet and a blend of smooth and crunchy.
They have a lot of shaded outdoor seating.
Update Jan 2026: Went more recently and didn't like the caramel chocolate mousse one. It seemed like it was starting to become stale. And the ice coffee was soso as well.“
“Bakery known for high quality pastries and cakes with unique flavors. I ordered an earl gray cloud cake over the phone the previous day and picked it up as soon as the store opened. Upon arrival, I was enticed by the fresh smell of bread and saw they were packaging freshly made bread so I bought their milk cream bread and coffee bun to try. Definitely glad I did because the fresh pastries tasted amazing! Pastries are average priced compared to competitors but their quality and flavors give them the edge. Staff were also patient and kind, helping recommend to me their most popular pastries while ringing up my order. I would definitely come back to try their different pasties and other cake flavors.
Their coffee buns ($4) and milk cream bread ($3.50) were perfect. The coffee buns had a subtle scent of coffee that filled the air upon unwrapping it, and the bun itself had a mildly sweet flavor with a fluffy, hollow and chewy interior. There milk cream bread had a perfectly sweet cream filling that paired well with the butter and fluffy dough surrounding it.
In all honesty the earl gray cloud foam cake was missing the earl gray flavor I was looking for. However the cake overall was enjoyable – the chocolate cake layers were smooth and buttery while the cream around the cake was the perfect sweetness. I just wished the cream had more earl gray essence.“

“I stopped here this morning just to get some GF food. I have never been here before and heard about it from a coworker and wanted to try it.
The bakery is inside of the Polenteria restaurant (see pic for guidance to the entrance). The closest parking is the lot surrounding Victory Lane. I was able to find a spot when I arrived around 11 am Thursday even though it was fairly full.
I checked the restaurants menu when I got home and found out it had an 'entire gluten free Italian menu'. Now I have to go back for dinner sometime.
I got a 3 pack of Jalapeno bagels for $12, 2 large cookies at $5 each, and a brownie for $9. It was pricier than another GF bakery I had recently visited in another town.“

“I’ve been wanting to try the viral Dubai chocolate chewy cookie and was pleasantly surprised to find out I didn’t have to drive all the way to the city for it! They limit 2 per customer on weekends which I appreciate. It was soft and chewy on the outside but crunchy, nutty, and sweet on the inside. The other pastries looked amazing too but I didn’t get to try them. Wish there was more seating/cozier cafe ambiance. I will be back to try the madeleines!“
