“Very busy place on a Friday night, and a nice selection of items on the menu. The pastrami was amazingly good, I'm so glad I chose it over the brisket - tender and full of flavor. The beef short rib was also very good, moist and tender but not fatty, although the rub was excessively salty. Pickles were perfectly pickled and crunchy. Mud pie was the choice of dessert for several at our table and was enjoyed all around. The service was sufficient but not stellar - some hospitality faux pas like serving drinks by holding the rim, and not bussing any dishes from the table until the very end of the meal. I'd definitely return for more of the delicious meat!“

“Great atmosphere, definitely a nice date place. The service was great and friendly. I didn’t have a reservation but they were able to give me a seat at the bar. I ordered the onion soup and beef tartare. Supposedly onion soup is their signature dish, but it was really salty, I was a bit disappointed…. Because it was a $20 bowl of soup. The beef tartare was excellent, it would be nice if they offer one extra slice of bread and some more salad leaves. I was happy that they have half bottle of wine that I can order. Wine list is quite nice.“

“Agnes Restaurant & CheeseryIt was not yet noon. I finished mailing documents at the El Monte post office and wanted to find a place to eat. Suddenly I thought of Pasadena Old Town, which I often went to when I was studying. I hadn’t been there for a long time. The car drove into Old Town and finally found a roadside parking. The toll was an old coin-operated type. I didn't see coins during this trip, and even banknotes were rare. Fortunately, there is an app on the toll that allows you to pay directly. , quickly download the app and pay with a credit card. You can only park for 2 hours, so just browse around as you like. The restaurants in Old Town are completely different from what they used to be. I didn’t know any of them, but I happened to see Agnes Restaurant & Cheesery, a cheese specialty store with bright and clean windows. It was small and elegant. It seemed that it also had a restaurant. When I walked in, I saw a variety of cheese and red wine. Immediately I intuitively chose Primento cheese omelette and cappuccino. After a while, the dishes were all served. They were also small and elegant, which is unimaginable in Los Angeles, which is famous for its big wins.Primento cheese omelette is a refreshing salad next to a yellow egg roll. When you take a bite of the salad, you can never describe it as "refreshing". It is thick and thick, the viscosity of the salad oil is very high, and it also has the heavy taste of traditional Western food, regardless of the saltiness. , quite delicious. The egg rolls are well-cooked, and the crispy shell is filled with rich cheese. It is very fragrant and thick, and has a bit of spiciness. It is different from the egg rolls eaten in other restaurants. It is a paradise for cheese lovers. After that, I walked around the store and saw a lot of cheese and red wine waving at me with a smile. Unfortunately, I couldn't buy them this time. After leaving the store, I felt that my stomach was still empty, so I went to look for food again. After noon, the store started to get busy. Let’s try it for dinner next time.“

The salads (burrata and caesar) at AltaEats were a standout, offering fresh and flavorful combinations. Make sure to the delicious bacon-wrapped dates; a delightful blend of sweet and savory. The rib eye was okay. It didn't quite live up to our expectations. The bread & butter and pot de creme were both delicious. We fought over the lest bits of the desert. The service was a mixed. “La Grande Orange remains at the top of the "relaxed" food chain. It's not a dress up fancy and go to dinner kind of place, but if you're looking for some good eating, you'll find it here. I eat a lot of chicken sandwiches and this one is right up there with the best! The brussel sprout salad garnered rave reviews too. Delicious I am told by my daughter. She suggested this restaurant just for the brussel sprout salad! The whiskey selection was pretty wide, but sadly my choice of Bookers seemed to finish off a bottle (according to the bartender) and my pour was pretty minimal. Other than that, everything was perfect ... oh, except no cookies . Those salty, chocolate chip cookies are amazing! But no cookies ...“

With the overcast and expected light drizzle, the outdoor fireplace was very inviting, so much so we decided to have lunch there. We entered and were greeted by Jennifer. She was pleasant and helpful with answering questions we had while placing our order. Once you've ordered you are given a number and your food will be brought out to you. The outdoor seating is cozy, comfortable and spacious. I like that we had the option of couch, bar style or table and chair seating. The food arrived quickly! Parker our server was friendly, attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. He even lowered the shade to make sure the wind or drizzle didn't bother us while we dined. You could feel the warmth and intention of his customer service, there's the doing what's required and then you get the rarity of someone like Parker. Thanks for your welcoming energy and great service! I had steak, roasted potatoes and garlic parmesan mushrooms. Food presentation was good and everything was seasoned well. What took my breath away was the oatmeal, cranberry, and coconut cookie...OMG!! It was large, soft and and crispy on edges. Absolute cookie perfection! I'm thinking of justifiable reasons to get a dozen...lol Overall we enjoyed our lunch at Urban Plates. Looking forward to my next lunch or sweet tooth trip!“

“Went for Valentine’s Day dinner… keep in mind that most “holiday” meals with a set menu are generally inflated in costs. But showcase the “best of…” the restaurants offerings. In this case the food was tasty…IF you have the stomach capacity of a 4 year old. You know those fancy restaurants that have one or two bites of food and some swirled sauces on the plate for presentation… welp, this was a version of that.Portions were ridiculously small almost angry worthy. The food quality and flavor is good but cmon, 4 pieces of tofu? In an Italian restaurant?Beet salad with literally one slice of beet and 1.5 bites of cabbage? It was like getting served after dinner mint sized portions for your actual meal.Server was nice, I’d give a 4 out of 5 since he did not follow up at all after the initial order or check on drinks.Oh and an automatic 20% gratuity on the check. All in all the food is tasty, service is good by today’s lower standards, but the price to value ratio is -5 starsBut hey if you’re on a diet, this is the place to go!!! 5 bites and your whole meal is done!!Might be worth a chance to try again on a regular menu and dining evening…we’ll see“

“This was my first time at the Raymond. I subtracted 1 star for service. It wasn't bad, just could be polished up a tad. Plates were left on the table between courses necessitating the server to clear them. The food was very good. It's not fine dining—does not pretend to be so—it's more akin to the casera vibe. It's as if you were eating at a friend's home, albeit a friend that really knows how to cook. We sampled the chicken and the pork chop. The chicken was outstanding. As we all know, chicken is a challenging protein to cook perfectly. And it was. It arrived hot and juicy and expertly seasoned. My comment on the pork is only representing my own flavor profile; I found it to be needing a bit more pan sauce. And, for me, the Dijon mustard came on a bit too strong and overwhelmed the delicacy of the subtle pork flavor. We really enjoyed the ambience. Both outside and inside were a comfortable environment to enjoy a nice, un rushed meal. We will return.“

We have eaten here several times for lunch and recently had dinner here. The hostess is always friendly and kind. There are high tables with stools and low tables with chairs inside. They give you the choice for seating. If you sit outside, there are trees and it does not seem like you are on Foothill Blvd. The food is very good as well as the drinks. I had a lavender champagne cocktail that was delicious.I ordered the special- halibut and there were no leftovers to take home!Very nice neiborhood restaurant with great chef and service.Vegetarian options: There are some vegetarian options or ask your server.Dietary restrictions: Ask your server. This is a well-run restaurant so they can adjust meals for you.Parking: I always park on a side street. There is a small lot in the back, but I prefer to park on a side street. I rather walk a block or two to avoid parking in a small crowded lot.“

“Good selection of beer, and great food. Can't ask for more. The food was flavorful, especially the ahi tuna salad. It was seared perfectly and paired well with the salad dressing, and with added crunch of the fried onions, really made the salad amazing. The shepherds pie had a nice crust, with the potatoes being creamy, and the seasoned beef, really tied the pie together.Although the flat bread chicken pesto was good, I wished the flatbread was a bit crisper, and the dish less oily. But overall it was highly enjoyable.I don't usually mention this, but the bathroom was extremely clean too. Considering I went in mid afternoon on a holiday. So A+ to the staff to keeping the bar up with such high standards.I'm excited to stop by again to try out the other dishes“

“The name is fun especially since there are so many parrots in the area and none in the building. They serve Jones coffee which is pretty much the best thing there is. And every dish I've tried has been amazing. I particularly loved the avocado toast. It may have been the most perfect avocado toast I've ever eaten. I'd post pictures, but I always forget to take them until my plate is clean. Maybe next time.“

“I have been wanting to have lunch at this cute little cafe for a while. I couldn't wait to try the roasted chicken sandwich to see if it tasted half as good as it looked in the pictures. It was next level delicious! The bread was outstanding, the chicken was so tender and flavorful, and the burrata and pesto were perfect additions. The portion was generous with the highest quality ingredients. I am looking forward to coming back and trying another sandwich, but it might be hard not to order the roasted chicken again as it is now my new favorite sandwich ever!“

“Come for the huge beers stay for the greasy food. They’ve got half priced pizzas for happy hour. That cannot be beat. Go see a movie at the regal next-door and then head over and stuff your pie hole with a pizza pie! This place has great bar food and nachos, which is pretty much all I eat these days. Wings and sandwiches galore. It’s a fun place with tendency to spike your BP and Glucose levels for hours to come and put you in a nice nap like state for hours. Bye bye. Goodnight. Sweet dreams. I highly recommend it!“

“I had SUCH a good experience here! A lovely small business to support rather than going to a Denny's or IHOP. The service was so great and it's a nice and homey restaurant. The food was SPECTACULAR. The crepes were so good I got an extra order to go! I've been eyeing this place ever since it opened and had no idea it got so lively in the mornings! It's a great place to take your family out to eat and their menu is quite large! We got the Paris Crepe Combo (w/eggs and bacon), Fresona Crepe, Jamaica Juice and Iced Blended coffee. I also ordered a paris crepe and hobo skillet to go and can attest to quality to-go orders as well as dine in! I will definitely be coming back here everytime I'm back in the area.“

“This is our favorite go to place in the neighborhood The food is always delicious and a little adventuresome. The chef likes to change up the menu frequently and there are some favorites that are always there. I love the tuna tartare tacos. But he also makes duck confit, bouillabaise, bone marrow. Their happy hour is great where you can have a taste of lots of fabulous small plates. If you like oysters, there is always a selection of very fresh offerings. Love this place!!“

“Old town Monrovia is cute and has great vibes. This cafe is just off the beaten path and is definitely a great spot to have breakfast. The granola pancakes are lovely with great flavors. I wish they had had more real maple syrup, but they were running out apparently. The bacon was cooked to perfection! All in all it was good food for a reasonable price, with great serving staff.Parking: Some street parking, but just down the street there is a lot with more parking.“
