“Mille-feuille extraordinaire! I could tell upon viewing everything it was going to be a gastronome's extravaganza. Since it was my first visit I had to start with the benchmark comestible, a plain croissant. It was exquisite with the perfect balance of butter, and flaky exterior. I will be back. It is l

“We got a Vietnamese latte, Mexican mocha, chorizo burrito, and chipotle sandwich for about $26. The sandwich was sooo fresh, flavorful, and practically melted in my mouth. The burrito was smaller than I’m used to, but it was also amazingly seasoned and delicious! Both drinks were smooth, flavorful, and tastefully sweet without being overpowering. The service, atmosphere, prices, and food are all 10/10 and make me want to come back daily.“
“I stumbled across this café in Berkeley. I was in the neighborhood and wanted a cup of coffee and a bite to eat. Customer service was outstanding. Very friendly. I ordered a Americano café and a classic half plain bagel with cream cheese to go.
When I got to the car and opened up the box with the bagel, I was pleasantly surprised at what I was looking at. I had to take a photo. Even more surprised when I took the first bite. This was the best bagel I’ve ever had! The taste was amazing. Everything was so fresh. I took a sip of my coffee and that too was really good!
Thank you guys the copy and the food made my day! I will return when I’m back in town.“

“This is some of the best matcha I've had in a while! I recommend the bar seating to watch the matcha being made fresh in front of you. There are a small number of tables inside the cafe but on a nice day there's seating available outside.“

“A clean, well-lighted place for exquisite coffee, tea and pastries. They owners (very nice people) are very particular about their coffee using high quality beans from Ethiopia. Their decaf espresso is delicious. They have mocktails too.“

“I tried the Hojicha Tiramisu, it's like a hojicha latte but comes with tiramisu cream and a biscoff cookie. You can also switch to oat milk with no additional charge for those who are lactose intolerant. The drink is super creamy and delicious, but you can only choose no sweet or sweet. The sweetened one is more like a dessert drink.
Service was relatively quick despite a line, and the cafe has some indoor benches and some outdoor seating.“

“Their coffee is really good, and the coffee beans are from Yunnan. No matter which coffee you order, you can taste their care. They also constantly mix seasonal coffees and roast the coffee beans themselves. I recommend this coffee shop not only because I am from Yunnan, but also because it is really hard to drink such carefully made coffee here. Most coffees are produced on assembly lines, which is a waste of time.“

“The Line is the perfect example of good (great) things coming in small packages. Coffee is absolutely delicious. The pastries are made fresh daily, are things I haven’t seen anywhere else (multiple sausage in puff pastry options, multiple quiche options, and interesting sweet options), and everything I’ve tried has been awesome. (I can’t stop thinking about that chocolate muffin or the polish sausage, I must have them again)“
“I've booked this venue twice for work events (team offsites, strategy planning retreats) and have had nothing short of the best experience both times! The Sway team is extremely professional, responsive, and accommodating -- even arranging the furniture to fit all of our day's activities, and providing coolers for drinks that we brought ourselves! The location is great -- close to many restaurants for breakfast/lunch options and neighborhood parking all day. We've loved using this beautiful space and couldn't recommend it more.“

“Revising this form my initial review, but the coffee is often either very good or just not so great. Never worse than three stars, sometimes five stars
The pastries I’ve had aren’t worth it though but again aren’t terrible“

“Amazing coffee and pistachio dessert. The friendly guy at the counter recommended mufawaar coffee. It was a combo of community and college kids. Warm atmosphere. I only wish they had ceramic coffee cups. Totally worth it though for the taste overall.“

“It's hard to get really good chai in the SF area, so Elaichi was a great discovery. Their chai is great, whether dairy, oatmilk, hot or cold, their cardomon buns are a treat, and the atmosphere is calm and respectful. Every time I come to Berkely I stop in.“

“The EGG CUSTARD COFFEE (less sweet) is absolute PERFECTION! What an incredible treat!
On our first visit, we ordered at the counter and found plenty of seating for a shop of its size. The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient.
We loved it so much we had to come back after failing to find egg custard coffee anywhere else outside of Berkeley. The second time, we ordered online—our drinks were ready in no time, and we even got a text when the order was complete.“

“The Hidden Cafe is a true gem in Berkeley! The atmosphere is incredibly inviting, with a cozy library-like interior and a lovely outdoor seating area overlooking the park. The pastries are delicious, especially the sweet potato brownie and the vegan options. The coffee is excellent, and the Kokuto Latte is a must-try. I especially appreciate the friendly staff and the welcoming ambiance. To elevate the experience even further, I recommend The Hidden Cafe consider using Tuneast to create a unique music space. With Tuneast, you can easily curate playlists and allow customers to vote for their favorite songs, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to this already wonderful cafe.“

“Love love love all their empanadas ! Ask for extra hot cuz they often get served warm. Just don’t burn your mouth! The drinks are mostly made with a powdered packet which is fine but underwhelming. I appreciate the vibes and kind staff! Great location for co working and spending hours on their wifi haha“

“We go here for take out quite frequently. The service is always warm and friendly and the food is delicious. We're vegan and are quite happy with the vegetarian platter. The ONLY reason for the 4 stars is because they recently switched to plastic take out containers. I really preferred the compostable containers because they did a good job of sucking up a lot of the oil.“

“Good speciality coffee with clean, cozy and ornate environment!
I was firstly attracted by the exterior of the cafe when we were driving. It’s a Middle Eastern-inspired cafe that sells Turkish coffee and pastries.
We tried the ice Yemeni latte and ice hibiscus tea. The latte is unique with flavor of cinnamon and cardamom. It’s aromatic, smooth, and not too sweet. The tea is refreshing, lightly sour and naturally sweet. Love them both! And I wish the tea is larger, so refreshing!“

“The owner of this cafe saved me by allowing me to charge my phone very early in the morning when my phone run out of power and I couldn’t find a power outlet all the way from the Oakland Airport to the Ashby BART station. The owner is very dedicated, friendly, and helpful. The service is warm, fast, and professional. The place is clean, tidy, straightforward, and calming. I had a very good morning here and hope to return. Thank you so much, Ada Cafe!“

“There were three in my party. We ducked in here to take a break from the cold rain. We ordered a chai, a golden/turmeric chai, and a caffé latté, all with oat milk. It’s our first try of oat milk. We all liked it a lot. The foam on my golden chai was lovely. I’d reorder it anytime. I tried my mate’s latté with oat milk, I can recommend it. The pastries we ordered were all worth the consumption. I’m so glad there was one pretzel cheese bun left. It was delicious even though it wasn’t warm. I highly recommend them. We also ordered a quiche, a chocolate croissant, and an almond pastry. They were all superb. The almond pastry which was super light and flaky tasted like baklava more so than an almond filling. I liked the vibe here. So often I want to grab my order and split, not here. I felt fine taking refuge from the outside environs. The staff were sweet regardless of their spoken English being nearly impossible to understand. It was cool assuming they were part of the refugee program. It felt good being a patron there and the inspired conversation it led to. I am sure my party was surprised I was already knowledgeable about the topic on current refugees. That made our café and conversation time only that much more enjoyable.“

“I have worked around the corner from Bench for years. I only recently got into coffee and so I've tried pretty much ever coffee shop in the near vicinity and this is by far the best latte in the area. Don't forget there is an upstairs seating area with a table and chairs.
The only thing that I would prefer is to have a couple comfortable chairs upstairs. If I could sit in a cushy chair I'd be so happy! But it's comfortable enough to be my go to spot now!“
“The womlettes are delicious! the teas are great too. Definitely recommend "party at the beach"“

“🙃Came to visit and didn't know what to expect but I'm glad that I did! Some of the best Lattes I had in the Bay Area and the ambiance is really nice and relaxing. The people here are what makes the place thrive and people love to come back again and again because of it! 😋“
“Operated like a mom and point coffee joint even with the big brand name. Coffee is great and next door you NEED to get a pastry at Fournee.“
“I was really surprised to see yet another Binge location open up in the East Bay!
I usually get their coffee drinks, so this time I went for the Melon Matcha to see what the rest of their menu has to offer.
If you’ve ever had a Melona, or a Korean melon bar, imagine that melted into a shake and then mixed with matcha! It’s absolutely delicious and super refreshing. The bitterness of the matcha adds a nice twist to this nostalgic flavor.
I am really glad that even though Binge is expanding and opening multiple locations, the quality of their drinks has stood strong. The ease of ordering, at all of their locations, but especially this one, is streamlined by having multiple ordering kiosks. I believe his location has 3-4 ordering kiosks and you can order at the counter as well.
Since the space is so large, it’s perfect for studying for a bit or even a good spot for “working from home”!
We came during their soft opening & honestly, I can’t wait to see how they continue to grow. I already love how this location has Berkeley themed cup designs!“

“Very good cappuccino: not just a small latté. Lox, egg, capers, on gluten-free toast was well done. Lots of Palestinian baked goods.
Nice corner location on Shattuck. Great light and solid wood tables. Outdoor tables too.
Order in-person or by touchscreen.
The EDM playing is on the mellow side.“

“One of my favorite places in Berkeley to work on my laptop. There’s this bristling, cerebral energy in the air and people stay for hours. It feels like a cafe, coworking space, and start-up launchpad all wrapped in one. I love the mix of students, artists, freelancers, and entrepreneurs.“

“This place was spectacular. It blew all expectations out of the park, perhaps even out of Berkeley. This is now one of my favorite coffee places on campus. But one thing outshone the rest, and that was the service. Sophia gave me a very special drink, a drink that was one of its kind. As my friends know I actively hate oat milk, however, this drink may have changed my opinion on oat milk. I had no complaints and the drink was perfection, perhaps now I like oat milk. If you ever have the chance, be sure to visit this nice establishment and make sure you say hello to Sophia.“

“I've been coming to Souvenir cafe since it opened. It is a gem in coffe shop landscape of the Bay Area. It small with comfortable seating. I enjoy studying there or seeing friends. The staff is very friendly and the drinks are well prepared. My Oatmilk Matcha latte is always excellent and the pastries and small dishes are fresh and crunchy. They close relatively early at 5pm so I make certain to come early enough to really enjoy myself. Thank you for providing such a wonderful place for cffee/tea and more!!!“
