“The place has been very popular since opening. We were so excited when we saw it wasn’t too busy Saturday afternoon. The quality of the hot pot is amazing. The presentation is appealing. The service is superb. The price could add up quickly, worth it though!“
“If you haven’t been here before the setup might be confusing. You should head all the way to the back, go to the cashier, tell him the number of people, get a table number from him, and then get a bowl and start putting stuff you want in the bowl. The bowl is weighed and charged by the pound, but you don’t pay until you’re done eating. Then you hand the bowls to the cashier to order what type of soup you want. They hand you order numbers and you go to your table and just wait for them to bring you food. You can also make sauces at the sauce station. When you’re finished, bring your bowls back to the front and pay. Also note that you get one tong for picking up all the foods, so if cross contamination is a concern or you have food allergies, this might not be the best place to go.The lady in the front was not helpful and just shouted Chinese at us and acted like we were in her way for not knowing the rules. Some of the customers tried to help us too, but they should really just post the rules outside the store or in front of the front door to help newcomers. I think if you look East Asian, they will assume you speak Mandarin, so you should mention that you don’t speak it to clear the air. The rest of service was fine and nice, just the initial confusion didn’t feel very good.“
“It’s SUPER delicious!!!!❤️I am originally from Chengdu, away from hometown for 3 years, this hotpot and Chuanchuan really makes me feel home! I heard from the lady boss that the chef is an old hotpot master in his eighties, it’s really authentic!I even brought the soup home for cooking?? There is no one else who packs hot pot base ingredients?Great service!Totally recommend!“
“Good! Very casual place to eat with great service!Waitress was attentive and very helpful. The food was all good and at a very good price. For the 5 of us, we spent $77and that was with meals for each one of us, Would go back for a relaxed lunch or dinner.“
“Definitely my *fave* hotpot spot in LA right now! Their soup broth is so hearty and the meat is beyond fresh!!! High recommend the spicy, tomato and bone broth combo. As for the dishes love love love the fried pork, fresh pork meatballs, beef short rib and pork belly! Totally skip the beef balls and hand cut beef.“
“This place is great with lots of food options and it's self serve so you can grab your own meats and veggies as you can choose whatever and how many you want. They offer alot of meats and veggies and well kept in fridges. Been going to this place and enjoy it, will return once again soon.“
“I love this place. I've been going since I was a little kid (that was 20+ years ago). The staff and service is always so friendly and attentive. I love their Bún Chả Giò Chay. It's my regular order! They have a solid selection of Vegan Vietnamese food and very affordable prices. If you're looking for real Vietnamese Vegan food, this is the spot!“
“Wow! What a wonderful experience! We had an early dinner on a Thursday evening to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. It was busy, but we were sat almost right away. The ambiance of the restaurant is the first thing that hit me. It was very dark, but in comforting way. It is a very small place. The server walked us through their choices and we were immediately served. We chose their silver level. The bone marrow and toast was crazy delicious. It was full of umami flavor. It was the perfect way to start off. We ordered the spicy miso and the house broth. Both were great. The spicy miso wasn't too spicy at the beginning, but rather rich and flavorful. It did build on the spice level when it became a bit more concentrated. The house was mild and light. These soups were refilled at appropriate times as well. The meats that were served with this were melt in your mouth amazing and only took a second to cook. The veggie platter that accompanied it was a nice assortment. They also had a serve your self rice/ condiment bar. It was very clean and had a great assortment of sauces. My favorite was mixing the sesame with a bit of soy sauce and spicy chilies. It also included eggs, rice and minced beef. We had three rounds of the amazing meat and finished up the veggies. We finished our meal with the green tea ice cream at the self serve station. It is a bit pricy, but worth every penny in my opinion. I can't wait to come back.Parking: Parking in the lot right in front of the restaurant was available for an early dinner on a Thursday. They also have parking around the back of the building as well.“
“Shabu is great for groups, and really fun though may be a bit confusing for people who've never had Korean hot pot (or fondue chinois!). It's a little expensive if you want just a little fish in addition to a veggie hot pot, and the music is *party* loud.. great for fun but could be difficult for some with older ears. We didn't try the sake but there looked to be a great selection.. maybe next time !Vegetarian options: There is a vegetarian hot pot option, and a small selection of veggie starters, as well as some great glass noodle salad and plenty of other noodles to cook, but the selection could be a little bigger (albeit there aren't too many proteinaceous veggie options in Korean food!).“
“Went on a Friday at 12:30 for their Happy Hour - be forewarned, I definitely recommend making sure you have put your name down on the waitlist at least thirty minutes ahead of when you want to get there. We waited about an hour to be seated but you can walk around the plaza while you wait. This place is no joke, the good reviews are worth it! For the price, amazing service with unlimited meat each round, a decent add-in selection with clams, mussels, and even unlimited eggs (was expecting that to be extra to be honest). Appetizers are also unlimited.Service was great, constant drink refills and meat replenishment. They have both outdoor or inside seating depending on your preference.Parking: Park in the Plaza Parking for free.“
“A quick in and out for sliced meat. Whether it's for our shabu nights, stir fry dishes, or grilling, we like to use the beef slices here instead of getting it inside the GW market. For $10, you can get a pound of sliced meat. We usually get the angus and lamb slices. You can also ask for fattier or leaner slices of the angus, or get half and half. Come prepared with cash, I think they have a minimum for card. They also have other types of meats such as skewers, and they have other ingredients that are commonly used for hotpot.“
“Ordered thru delivery app. Tried the 1.5lb beef with tripe/assorted veggies hot pot with chicken gizzard and quail eggs skewers. Hot pot broth was clean and flavorful. Didn't come with any sauces. I decided to order from this place because they had bunmoja (noodle like rice cake mochi?). I've been wanting to get my hands on them to try since I love chewy texture. Had good amount of meat and would definitely order here again.“
“First time but I loved it. Food is great and fresh as it stays busy. Service is ok and ambience is nice. Although if you don't like noisy places. I don't think this place is for you. They have a time limit for dining which is understandable but they kinda rush you to eat.“
“If you have never done hotpot before, make sure you come with someone who knows. They are not good at explaining or helping out.I would recommend to come with 4 people at least, this way you can order to share more things (meat, fish, vegetables, whatever you like).I had the gold broth (chicken soup broth) and their original broth (spicy level 1). It felt very spicy to me but I usually like mild. So it makes sense.“
“Tensho occupies the former Kagaya location. While it offers the required A5 Wagyu cuts, their prime cuts are marbled and have a very tender consistency; plus an expanded seafood option for the hot pot. Unless you want to take a chance, reservations are highly recommended.“
“Came here after a long road trip with a big group and had an amazing experience! Great menu selection, and server helped recommend what to order, what dishes, vegetables, meats, noodles etc. Food came out quickly, they gave us a little cart for everything. They frequently came to clear empty dishes and help if we needed to order more. I highly recommend the scallion crispy pancake! The sauces are great, even better when mixed. The soup tasted great and we took some home too :) Highly recommend this place.“
“100% recommend this place. Ordered: -Potato Noodle -Fried Chicken Pro: -Potato noodle was really good. Chewy and savory. We got the seafood meatballs but they also have a beef one. The broth was spicy and not too heavy tasting. -The chicken was savory sweet, a bit sticky and a delight to eat! There are a lot of bones and the meat is slightly chewy which makes a pleasant texture. -Interior was clean, bright and cute -Plenty of parking inside the structure -Price is reasonable Con: -No credit card payment under $30“
“One of my favorite Sichuan Pot in the area. They use plenty of food and sauce inside the broth. For the Fish fillet and Frog in Sichuan Mala Broth, it's the size for two people with many fish fillet and frogs inside the large pot. Though it's a little bit spicy, the proteins are pretty good with the fantastic taste. The staff told me that their boss asked them to add enough food to ensure customers' satisfaction. What a great experience of dining here. Attention to adjust the spicy level for any one of the pots.“
“We had the dim sum towards the end of service. The dim sum here was good, and is cheaper than going to an a la carte dim sum place. Adding drinks was only another 1.50, and you get a pretty good selection.Lina was great in helping us with the experience, as she explained the AYCE rules and was accommodating to all of our questions. She had even helped me bring things back to the table when she saw me struggling.Overall I would come back.“
“I was brought to this restaurant by a close family member and it's one of the best ramen places I've been to. I loved their ramen bowl serving and the Naruto ambiance. I can definitely see myself going back to this place again. I ordered the Naruto Chasu “
“I've never really had Ramen before, but I am officially a fan after coming here. The service was on point the same lady was assisting all four tables with complete ease. She was refilling everyone's water asking if we needed anything. She was on top of all of it even answering the phone and just from hearing other people telling her that they enjoy the meals I know it's not just me saying it. I think it's safe to say everyone in there had a great meal tonight. The restaurant itself is not too big. There is about six or seven tables in there with several chairs to each table and comfy couches to sit on. It's not the biggest restaurant but it's perfect the way it is all of the Naruto decor was pretty cool to see too. I love how they had pictures up and drawings up. It just made it feel more homelike and I appreciate that vibe. I ordered the udon noodles in my Ramen because I prefer the thicker noodles and was not disappointed at all super yummy. Super tasty. Lots of flavor packed into the bowl. Nothing was overpowering as a perfect amount of flavor. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed my time tonight.“
“Prepare your taste buds for a wild ride because Nabemono Shabu Shabu is where the party's at! I recently visited this hot pot haven, and let me tell you, it was like stepping into a foodie's dream. Service That's So Good, You'll Wonder If You Entered a Spa:From the moment I walked in, the staff at Nabemono treated me like royalty. The service was so good; I half expected a red carpet to roll out as I made my way to the table. The waitstaff was attentive, friendly, and had a great sense of humor. They even taught me how to shabu shabu like a pro without making me feel like a fish out of water. Veggie Delight - Mostly Washed, All Fresh:Now, let's talk veggies. I'm no botanist, but I know a crisp and fresh vegetable when I see one. Nabemono did not disappoint! The veggies were not only mostly washed but also as fresh as a morning breeze. It's like they plucked those veggies straight from the Garden of Eden and plopped them onto my plate. My carnivore instincts were momentarily put on hold as I devoured the colorful array of veggies. Who knew I could enjoy vegetables this much? Meat So Good, It's Almost a Crime:Let's not forget the star of the show - the meat. I swear, the meat at Nabemono was so good-looking; I almost asked it for its skincare routine. Each slice was like a work of art, marbled to perfection. The cook-it-yourself shabu shabu experience made me feel like a culinary genius, and the result was a mouthwatering masterpiece. I've never had a beefy experience like this before! Cleanliness that Deserves an Oscar:In the world of hot pot, cleanliness is next to deliciousness, and Nabemono nailed it. The place was as spotless as my grandma's Sunday best china. I could eat off the floor, not that I tried, but you get the point. The clean and cozy atmosphere added an extra layer of comfort to the entire dining experience. In conclusion, Nabemono Shabu Shabu is the real deal. With service so good, veggies so fresh, meat so fine, and a cleanliness standard that would put a surgical room to shame, this place is a culinary oasis. So, grab your chopsticks and head over to Nabemono for a shabu-tastic time! Your taste buds will thank you, and your funny bone will be tickled.“
“I guess this place is new and not many people know yet. The food, service and environment are all great. My wife and I celebrated her birthday and had a wonderful night with very good food. By the way, they serve the Asahi draft beer correctly.“
“One of the better hotpot places locally and possibly a new favorite. Ingredients are fresh and the sauce bar has a plethora of snack choices. Although not all you can eat, the prices are very fair and surprisingly low for such quality.Service was pretty fast. The atmosphere is historic in a very cozy way.“
“My wife loves the Hibiscus Tree Combo #1 loaded with marinated beef, shrimp, beef tripe, crab stick, fish ball, spam, quail egg, bean curd, bean sprouts, enoki mushrooms, black fungus, winter melon. So much great stuff inside. We use DoorDash for food deliveries. But I've came by twice to pick up takeout. The parking lot is always full and hard to find parking so we prefer DoorDash and let them deal with the parking situation.“
“I took my Korean friends to eat Malatang, and we all thought it was delicious. The taste was good but a little salty. We also ordered the fragrant pot and rice. This store has a water purifier, which is quite convenient for self-service drinking:)“
“The last time I had Guilin noodles was when I was in Guilin and purposes some roadside. It was served in a plastic bag, but it was one of the more comforting noodles I've had. Years later I noticed a few Guilin noodles place pop up. I decided to give this high Yelp-rated one a try!Food: Guilin noodles in soup with medium spice level - Thicker yet smooth rice noodles in a savory broth. Medium spice is perfect for me. Came with sliced meats and some pickled vegetables. Service: Very friendly wait staff. The waitress made various recommendations. She sold me on the chrysanthemum tea. It was good! Environment: The outdoor seating area is larger than the indoor seating. Came here on a weekday for lunch and it was near empty. Price: It's pretty reasonably priced for a large bowl of noodle soup. Food: 4Service: 5Environment: 4Price: 5“
“Hands down the one of the most authentic Hong Kong style cafe in LA: great cafe food, great pricing, and mediocre service. Their chicken steak baked spaghetti, pork chop pineapple bun sandwiches and red bean iced milk drink is my go-to favorite.Kid-friendliness: Very family friendly, lots of people bring their kids“
“Absolutely love this place. Located in the heart of Alhambra and on the corner of the intersection. Large parking lot located in the back, but it can fill up during busy hours. The meat was terrific and the self serve items were numerous. I really liked that the drinks and soft serve ice cream were self serve as well. Plenty of tables inside and kept clean. I really wish they were open a little later. I’m sure they have bathrooms, but I didn’t see where they were. I’ll definitely be going back as often as I’m in the area.“
“I went there on a sunday evening with a friend. There was ample parking. It wasn't crowded. We ordered a Dirty Latte and a Red Bean Teaser. The latte has a bit of sugar in it to my surprise. But it was good. The place has a lot of seats.“
“I got a tomato based pot and really enjoyed how customizable the hotpot is. Despite the name, my friends and I all didn't feel like our hotpots were particularly spicy (the spice is diy via the sauce station). Fresh veggies, good variety, decent price for value. If you are on an allium free diet, their tomato broth does not have onion / garlic which is a plus!“
“Crossing the bridge noodles came from a legendary story in China. Regardless of the story I love love love these noodles. Piping hot soup in a stone pot and you add all the topping in yourself. This spot never fails to satisfy my noodle cravings.“
“Have you had a dry Hot Pot?Tasty Dining has these Griddle Cooked Foods that comes with potatoes, cauliflower, celery and bean sprouts. You choose the proteins such as Bullfrog, Squid, Pork Ribs and Beef Short Ribs like I did! The squid was my favorite! I’d order a double portion of squid next time! There’s a variety of veggies, mushrooms, tofu and meat, like fish balls, quail eggs, crab sticks, beef tripe, pork belly and more for an extra charge. I added pork belly to one of my griddles. I’d order a double portion of pork belly next time! Adding all the extras can start to add up. But, I feel like these griddles need more protein. The flavors really packed a punch! You control the spice. Of course, I got extra mild for us.Griddle (mild spicy)✧ Bullfrog✧ added Pork RibsGriddle (mild spicy)✧ Squid✧ Beef Short Ribs✧ added Napa Cabbage✧ added Noodles✧ added Pork Belly“
“Everyone gets the peking duck here! The duck is roasted well - crunchy skins, barely any fat remaining under the skin. The meat, as Shirley H. wrote in her review, is mild in flavor, different from the Cantonese version or the smoked tea duck that I prefer. I like that they use the traditional thin crepes for the dish; it's served along with the shredded cucumber, beets, and green onions. In addition, the duck order comes with a choice of a dish made with the bone - either soup with duck bones, tofu, and Napa cabbage, or deep fry salt & pepper duck bones. We opted for the soup, which came at the end of the meal, and offered a satisfying wrap to the meal. Pro-tip: pre-order the duck a day ahead! We ordered two additional dishes and together, these were perfect for our party of four:- rainbow skin: a cold noodle salad dish- stir fry eggplant and string beans All in all, a solid Beijing restaurant, decent prices too!“
“Great food in a fun and new atmosphere. They have the standard- yummy Thai dishes. We tried their Pad Thai and it was delicious. What makes this place stand out is the colorful atmosphere. From bright green and orange chairs to the "street fair" decor- it's a fun place to visit.“
“I love this place. The pots are good and excellent service. Come at least once a week if not twice. My favorite is beef medium with Vermicelli and black tea. ?Parking: Free public parking structure behind the restaurant. Only down size is 99% of the time the elevator is out of service. ?“
“I like the soup base to be medium spicy, but it's really too salty. The bone soup base is okay. Everything else I ate today was okay, except that the shrimp I got was a bit not fresh. I told the waiter when I paid, but he didn't really respond to me. Yes, the bill was reduced later, and the bowls in the snack area were all used up when I came. I didn't see them replenished until I left. I will come again for the ice powder and red bean porridge.“
“We went there in the evening for the dinner and it was amazing. Even though this might be the first review for this restaurant, I always eat in here and the taste was amazing. I usually go with the dry pot and it was so delicious and they served the food very fast as long as you ordered it.“
“Good social spot, food is okay-good depending on what you get, and interior is really something. Lots of KAWS and imagery otherwise. They definitely put a lot of thought into the interior design. Food can be good, but it depends on what you get. All the personal hotpots have "fillers" that are pretty obviously cheaper or purchased frozen - still good, but just a note. After coming here a couple times, I have a pretty solid idea of what I like to order: Popcorn chicken - this is literally amazing when it first comes out of the kitchen. As it cools down, for some reason I like it a lot less. Well seasoned and crispy, exactly what popcorn chicken should be. I always find myself craving this during the hours that Figs Corner is closed. Golden Broth beef hotpot - really nice, flavorful and bright soup. This is one of my favorites, though I don't personally like the crab stick or spam in the dish. I do like the quail egg though. Soup and hotpot ingredients are great with the rice bowl included with this. Sichuan Mala hotpot - if you've actually had Sichuan hotpot, this is a long shot from it. Sometimes I really like this, sometimes I don't. I'm not sure if they changed the recipe, but I really enjoyed the fish cake in this. Now, the soup is just ok. Cheese corn - my friend really likes this, I find it ok. Tastes like canned sweet corn with cheese on top, broiled. They also might add extra sugar to help the sweet corn taste sweeter. If you already like cheese corn, you'll probably also like this. They recently came out with drinks, which I'd be interested in trying considering there's already a pretty popular boba spot next door. I'll definitely be back if I want to have a conversation with someone over food, but I probably wouldn't return alone.“
“Beautiful ambience. Not AYCE so I had trouble trying to decipher the menu due to no pictures. I went with the half spicy (medium) and half bone broth. My favorites were the spicy broth, brisket cuts, hand pulled noodles, bamboo slices and daikon. The spicy broth is well seasoned and will numb your tongue. You will not need a sauce because the spicy broth is just that good. But beware on choosing your spice level. It's very spicy! Spent approx $180 which filled up 4 people.“
“Open 5 to 10 dailyOutdoor seatings only We got the special and it was pretty good. Upgrade the soup base for $4. Worth it. I tried the tomato soup base and it has some salmon, a shrimp, and mussel added in. Very flavorful. The crab soup base was spicy and added additional 1/2 crab. Service good. Outdoor seatings ok on a cool night. Very decent Shabu for this price. We will come back!“
“Came here to try the liuzhou rice noodles so this review is limited to that, not their hotpot items. The noodle was tasty, especially with the chili oil, although some might not think it's the most authentic version. There are plenty of toppings and the bowl was quite filling.I like my noodle soup steaming hot and thought it could be improved a bit. They do have an induction stove on the table for hotpot and keeping your bowl warm. I just didn't want to wait while the noodle is soaking in the soup already. An an entry level 螺蛳粉 fan, it was still a very decent lunch.“
“After the recent remodeling, the place has become even more neat. The food is still delicious. Especially, there is a waiter who appears to be from the Philippines, always displaying a bright and positive attitude. Their kindness is so remarkable that I wish they could serve me every time I visit. It's a great place to welcome guests, and I highly recommend it for both the welcoming atmosphere and tasty food.“
“I only got to go here so I'm just here to rate the one item I got which is the string beans. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was crunchy. I've started to give up on mama Lu's because it's 50/50 there whether or not it's good. Here there's a good amount of meat in the dish. It did not come with rice nor any utensils but whatever. I don't need that. Parking is a small lot. Credit card accepted.“
“Great little local gem!Pricing straight forwardWe stop by here when we go see my mother in law, have had lunch and dinner service here multiple times, always shocked at the low cost.Give it a shot, but fair warningPlace is older, clean, friendly but older so don't be expecting fluff and glam, it's just a BBQ and Hot Pot place! We will definitely be back!“
“Loved this spot. I have previously been to one in LA, which is good too but can get crowded. Each person gets their own individual burner and bowl, so no one has to reach over each other. There was no wait time to be seated, and the food was delicious. The only negative thing I can say is it seemed there were only two servers and they seemed overwhelmed. Not cool. I'm not sure if it was just that day or if they are short staffed. So be aware. Other than that, it is a great place to grab lunch or meet with friends and family.“
“The food was fantastic. I ordered the Mongolian natural and spicy soup but it's just that the spicy one didn't taste spicy. The soup tasted amazing by itself. There were only 3 sauces provided: Sesame, BBQ, and I don't even know what that one was.The only con is just that with the price that they have I believe there are some better options out there, and they really need an actual sauce bar.“
“I thought this place was alright, nothing great but nothing bad. I'd say the spicy hotpot is on the milder side. If you want really spicy ones, go to LaoMaTou. I do however like the experience here. We got here at 2pm so not a lot of people, and our food came pretty fast. Lots of choices , comparable to HaiDiLao but much cheaper. Meat quality was good and the portion was good. 4 stars, recommend.“
“This place is so under rated! I drive all the way from Whittier, CA to eat at this place! It is AMAZING!!!!!! I highly recommend this place. There food is DYNAMIC so many options and very filling. I will be a life long customer of this place.“
“The person who helped me was very nice and helpful. They asked me if I needed any extras (I always get extra lime and I almost forgot) and even gave me a free thai tea! So sweet. I got the pad thai and tom kah soup, which were decent, I will try the pad see ew next.“
