“i'm from LA and have been SEARCHING for a gelato shop that makes it the authentic italian way, with no artificial dyes/flavors and the correct texture. i stumbled across this place while in newport with my family and knew i had to try it immediately when i saw the way the gelato is stored (in the steel tins, as opposed to giant mountains like most places in the US). definitely not disappointed. the flavors were done perfectly and not overly sweet, and you could so tell it was natural. i honestly think it's worth the 2 hour drive from LA to come back here🤣 please open a second location“

Service was quick but the teen (I’m assuming) boy that was the one serving us, wasn’t very inviting or friendly. “This place is tasty. Very sugary sweet treats, but yummy. We ordered one bar and one soft serve type, but the soft serve is a way better base. The girls working the ice cream shop were young, but attentive. But, they had no AC in the shop which was really brutal with our hot summer. I asked one of the girls about the heat and she said the AC broke. But, you're in Laguna Beach, charging top dollar, have a busy flow of people non-stop and have ice cream and workers that need to be supported with cooler conditions. I hope the owners chopse to address the cooling conditions.“

“I visited SomiSomi tonight and it was such a great experience! We tried the peach ube flavor with Nutella filling, and it was absolutely fresh, creamy, and delicious. The combination of flavors was unique and really satisfying. At first, the line looked very long, but it moved quickly, so the wait wasn’t bad at all. Definitely worth it for such a fun and tasty treat—I’ll be coming back for more flavors for sure!“

“Had Hansel’s for the first time in Carlsbad, CA. I ordered a small waffle cone. I figured there would be one scoop of ice cream, but the server kept reaching in to get more. It was 3-4 scoops! I thought she misunderstood my order, but no, that’s a small cone. Ice Cream very high quality and so delicious. Back in the same area two days later and we had to have more. “It was a beautiful day yesterday I decided to go to Balboa and I saw this ice cream shop and I needed something delicious and cold. They did not have pistachio ice cream. My favorite, but I ended up getting the vanilla mixed with some caramel almonds and walnuts. It was delicious if you are anywhere around Balboa if you want something cold and delicious I think you should stop here and the portions are very big. I wasn’t able to finish my ice cream cone, which was a single cone, so you get a lot back ?“
