“Brix is a gem! The bartenders are very friendly and knowledgeable, and make great recommendations if you’re not sure which beer to order. Usually I let the bartender Kira pick a beer for me and she never misses! There’s a bunch of different food trucks that come, and a great pizza spot next door so you’re able to bring your own food. Brix also hosts fun events like animal adoption, clothing swaps, art shows, and even drag shows occasionally. Definitely a great and welcoming place to hang out and grab a drink!“
“This is a small spot in an out of the way street, with good beer and an interesting selection of records that the bartender/dj spins. Certainly different, and a plus, the taps are not loaded with IPAs.

Not much atmosphere on a Tuesday evening. I’d find my couch and cat more exciting than the vibe while I was there … nonetheless, I bet this would be fun on a more hopping evening!

“Sante Adairius truly makes some world-class beer. They have a versatile lineup all the way from West Coast IPAs to saisons, making their taprooms a true beer lover's dream. “Such a friendly place for a drink- they offer non-beer alcohol (sangria!) and NA beverages so there's something for every adult.
Very dog friendly place that raises a lot of funds for local charity. One of the owners, Chris, is often around welcoming everyone and may give you free samples!
They have a small bar inside with a new reading nook, and upstairs has tables and high tops. Local clubs happen upstairs, like Magic the Gathering.
Nice outdoor picnic tables. No food though (just snacks), so check out Heschers for Detroit pizza or Original Pattern for Napolitan pizza.“

“Fabulous spot for interesting wine and beer and if your timing is right, great food! Even when the kitchen is closed, non-sold out empanadas are fabulous. We were early on a Sunday afternoon and the picnic table filled patio was mostly open. Later, lots of duds came in with their people. Diverse clientele both human and canine. Inside room is spacious plus bar seating. Very friendly service. Would be my hangout if I were local. Each bathroom has a cool character, good TP but not a fan of locker room brown paper hand towel dispensers. Grade A, bathroom B, over all, A-.“

“Stopped in Saturday night to grab some freshies and check out the brewery for the first time. Ended up having an amazing conversation with Brennan about beer, music, and community — exactly why I love beer and what the industry should feel like for patrons.
And most importantly: the beer is outstanding. This pils is everything I look for — depth, balance, and character that only comes from time, care, and quality ingredients. By far the best lager in the bay- yeah I said it!

“As someone with Celiac disease who *loves* beer, I was thrilled to find Otherwise Brewing. They have the biggest selection of gluten free beers that I have found yet. I enjoyed getting a flight and sampling several of their beers. I really enjoyed the pale ale, the IPA and the stout.

“Such a terrific little bar! Top notch, small batch beers from talented local brewers. Something for everyone: IPAs, pales, pilsners, saisons, sours, and (often) my favorite Belgian beer styles. Casual, friendly vibe. A great place to go with friends, on date night, or solo (laptops fine). Can bring in food, games, or your dogs. Hoi Polloi is a real gem.“

The beer I had was tasty.
The pizza smells from the kitchen were delicious.
There were tables inside and outside to sit.
Server was very friendly and willing to give samples.
Don't forget about the arcade games! Bring your change or don't, they have a quarter machine.

“Ample seating - we found 75% of the seats happened to be in strong wind, but taking shelter at a table behind the building completely blocked the wind. Just beware of bird poop seats!

“Love this place! The membership is absolutely worth it if you live in the Bay Area and can visit regularly. The staff are amazing, friendly, welcoming, and great at what they do. “This has become my favorite brewery to refresh after a bicycle ride across the Berkeley/Oakland hills. They have a huge beer selection and offer all kinds of tasty sandwiches in a relaxing garden atmosphere. I usually order a hefeweizen (relatively low on alcohol) to make it up Grizzly Peak again. After a stronger beer consumption there is always the North Berkeley BART station around the corner as last resort.“
