“A location that has stayed in business for years. I recall coming here as a kid for my favorite, sesame chicken. They are still one of the best Chinese spots around the area. I prefer this location over the Richmond and El Cerrito locations. Love their Walnut Prawns and Mongolian beef, must be ordered from the kitchen to be freshly prepared.“
“I visited this place 3 times. The first time when it first opened years ago. The second time last year and the third not too long ago .But my last visits are my favorite visits ? ?.I love the sweet corn dumplings. I love the cucumbers salad. The sauce that is in the cucumber Salad I use as a dipping sauce for my dumplings. The green onion pancake, though? Can I get three orders of that, please? Lol super simple yet very delicious.I tried their soup for the first time. The beef noodle I love the broth, flavorful but not salty at all. Just right. The service is always attentive and kind.I am looking forward to trying the chicken soup and more dumplings for my next visit ?“
“Top Chinese restaurant in Bay AreaEverything about it leads to it having incredible food. Love that the family is there, love that it’s served now in Togo containers, because we are always going to take the leftovers to go.The food though hella good. We ordered vegi chicken sweet and sour, broccoli with vegi beef and chow fun with vegetables, oh and white rice. My gf is vegan so we came here for the vegan options, and it was basically like meat so for me it was amazing. And they have seafood here which I’ll definitely order honey walnut shrimp next time. We had enough leftover for a solid meal the next day. It’s a quality place“
“Ryan is so awesome. I mistakenly order pick up at their Fremont location, he was able to help me to cancel it although it was all made ready to go, and help me reorder at Richmond location again. Food here always so awesome amazing, plus outstanding customer service. Love this place!“
“February 2024:Enjoyed a Lunar New Year lunch with pork dumplings and mu shu vegetables (not the most traditional Chinese dish but it sounded good).Dumplings were very tasty ?. Each order came with 15 dumplings. The mu shu vegetables came with six thin wraps. Nice assortment of vegetables.Overall, had a great lunch and would come back again for more delicious food!“
“I randomly found this spot and saw the Wor Wonton soup on the menu. It's hard to find so I decided to give it a try. I enjoyed it. Perfect dumplings filled with shrimp and pork in yummy broth. I like it with noodles which I will request next time.“
“Dined at Yu Yu Za Zang based on a recommendation from a video on social media. So glad I did! I was not disappointed. Came for a late lunch on a rainy Saturday. Almost every table was full. The restaurant is homey and comfortable. We ordered the zazang myun and gan poong ki. I loved the zazang myun!! The sauce and noodles were tasty, not too salty and had me wanting more. The gan poong ki was also very good. Wasn't too goopy and had a good fry. Not too spicy either. Staff is very friendly and efficient. Definitely recommend dining here!“
“Dreams come true! This place has BOTH noodle dishes in one bowl! When you can't decide which one to get - Jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) or jampong (seafood noodles), you can get both here! They have a bowl with a divider in the middle to separate the black bean noodles versus the seafood noodles. How ingenious is that?! I'd have to say though, that the black bean noodles were a bit mushy/gooey for my taste. Still liked it but didn't love it. The seafood noodles on the other hand, were bomb. Loved it. I think you can definitely share one bowl between 2 people as there are a ton of noodles in each serving. You can then get a side dish appetizer to taste a bit of everything. and a BONUS - the kampongee chicken was my favorite. Its crispy, chewy, sweet and savory all in one bite. I LOVED IT and will be baaaaack. 2 yumz up!“
“The best service ever -- servers are extremely accommodating to all food allergies! Most dishes can be made gluten-free, and they can omit garlic and onions from many dishes as well if you have an allium intolerance. It's delicious too!!Dietary restrictions: Tons of gluten-free options!“
“Sat down and had food in front of me literally within 5 minutes - I came on a weekday late afternoon so definitely not typical meal times, but WOW that was fast and delicious. Lots of vegetarian options, my soup was delicious + I was there at the right time for lunch happy hour prices!“
“Came here many years ago to have lunch on a whim but totally forgot about it until today when I wanted to try a different Chinese restaurant. I decided to order some food from Sichuan Fusion since I haven't gone back there in years but I've anyways passed by it when I'm over at the mall for other things. We were feeling lazy and it was raining like crazy outside and didn't feel like going out so we odered for delivery. We ordered chicken fried rice, vegetarian hot sour soup, spicy Tan Tan mien noodles, and what looked like a combination stir fried hand made noodle dish that we got by mistake which was supposed to be the Beef Chow Fun.The chicken fried rice was pretty good. It was light in oil, seasoned well, and had a decent light wok flavor. The vegetarian hot sour soup was nice and hot when we got it and it was full of ingredients that I couldn't even name. The soup stock was flavorful but a bit heavy on the vinegar. I still enjoyed it alot. The Tan Tan noodle was a bit heavy in oil but that was expected since part of the sauce included hot chili oil. The sesame sauce was very good in flavor but seemed to be missing something. I can only say that after eating the same type of noodle at Shang Dong restaurant in Oakland I haven't found any other place that can compare. The mistake dish that we got which I think is a stir fried combination hand made noodle had really nice fresh made noodles that were cooked just right and had a nice chewey consistency. The dish also had large pieces of lightly battered chicken, shrimp and beef. I really enjoyed this mistake. Hahaha. What was that song that had the lyric about being my favorite mistake? ?Overall, I really liked the food and next time I'm at the Pacific East Mall I'll stop by and try out some other dishes from Sichuan Fusion.“
“Wonderful mom and pop Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant. Dishes are very good, mostly classical. Honestly the thing that keeps coming back is the won ton soup. Dumplings are hand made and broth seems to be from bones -- which makes sense because they are a pho place. Really the very best I've had in the US.“
“The food was great. I ordered the szechwan shrimp. It was so tasty and really filling. Portions were enough at good prices. Great atmosphere and nice hometown setting. The service was non-intrusive but they always knew when I would need something like a water refill. I will definitely come back when in the area.Parking: One hour limit parking in back of restaurant.“
“I have been going to King Yen for over 20 years, it is always a wonderful experience and upon leaving I look forward to the next time I go there.Everyone who works there is just as nice as are the owners who provide a personal touch to every visit or when you see them in the Elmwood area.If you have not eaten here, you should and if you have you know exactly what I mean and I know you are like me and will return soon. Thanks to everyone at King Yen for all they do to make it a great experience.“
“A lot of these positive reviews seem to be from real gourmands, fans of specifically Yunnan-style cuisine, and people who recognize and appreciate the quality and authenticity of the food on offer here. Then there's me, who ordered from the part of the menu that is labeled "American" style. So I'm here to tell you that that part of the menu is amazing as well. Onion pancakes, fried rice, sesame chicken, and General Tso's: all absolutely delicious. Long reign Yunnan Style Rice Noodle! So glad this is nearby.“
“The food is amazing! My go to order is Shrimp Fried Rice with an order of Egg rolls and a mango tea! The service is great, everyone is kind and greets you when you come in! It's usually not packed when i go, but it definitely should be because it's great here! The only issue is the parking spaces, it's limited but if you're lucky you'll find some, close by!“
“I recently visited United Dumplings in Oakland this past weekend and I can confidently say that it was a great dining experiences. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warm smiles and efficient service. The restaurant itself is modern and cozy, creating the perfect atmosphere for a casual lunch or dinner. The dumplings were incredible. Each one bursting with flavor and made with the freshest ingredients. The menu offers a variety of options, from classic steamed pork dumplings to more unique options. But the dumplings are not the only star of the show. The other dishes we tried were equally impressive. The beef noodle soup was rich and hearty, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. Beyond the food, the service at United Dumplings was exceptional. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were quick to suggest dishes and offer recommendations, making our dining experience even better.“
“Came in on a Friday evening after finishing some business nearby. There were a few people waiting in the lobby area for their food. Being that it was my first time, I asked them how the food was and they looked at me like I was insane my takeaway was to absolutely try it. Unfortunately for me, they were super busy and weren't taking walk in orders. I was turned away but understandably. I called about an hour later because I really wanted Chinese food and the people in the lobby said I wouldn't be disappointed. I was NOT! Ordered 5-6 items, which were ready in less than 30 minutes. Orange chicken and the chicken and green beans were my favorite. So so good! This is definitely going to be my new go to spot.“
“Solid, well-made, fresh Chinese food. The homemade noodles are a treat. Very nice people. Very comfortable neighborhood feeling. AND… they are still using the old-school cardboard boxes — which are compostable — instead of plastic take out containers.“
“Absolutely incredible. Hands down best American-Chinese food I've ever had. Literally every dish my wife and I ordered was the best of that dish I have ever had. From the hot & sour soup I got, the wor wonton soup my wife got, and all the dishes we got because I wanted to try everything just after how good the soup and plum wine was. Highly recommend the house fried rice, beef chow mein, general tsaos chicken, sweet & sour pork, and the honey walnut shrimp. The service is just as incredible as the food. I say just spend the money and get a bunch of food with a group of friends and try everything.Vegetarian options: Spring Rolls, fried rice, tofu, mushrooms, and veggies are all delicious here.Dietary restrictions: Wife has some food allergies to some of their ingredients and has been coming here for years without an issue of cross contamination.“
“Fast Chinese food. Big plate, great value. Food is usually pretty decent but look before you choose. If it looks like it's been the all day maybe it has. There are always fresh options and they churn out the popular dishes all day long. That's your best choice. Egg rolls are HUGE, eat them hot.“
“Just booked a family table of 8 and our night was amazing. Our family has been coming to Hunan Villa for over 30 years! It is our favorite family restaurant. Our service was top notch, incredible of course, and our food was most excellent. We love Hunan Villa. Thank you guys so much for a wonderful evening!“
“I came here for the first time about 1 month ago and loved it so much that I came back the very next day for lunch!I forget which rolls I had, but all 3 were delicious and fresh. The service was great and the staff is friendly. It's definitely the best sushi in the area.“
“I've been coming to Hong Kong Snack House since I was a kid. I remember always asking my parents to get me some pandan egg puffs after trips to Ranch 99. Now, they're celebrating their 20th anniversary!Right now, you can come get your fave Hong Kong snacks (and more) and get 1 free when you buy 2! The owner who is always the one taking orders is very nice and funny. His little store has soooo many things, so take a look at what they have around. Packaged snacks and drinks, crepes, tornado potatoes, egg puffs, egg waffles, boba drinks, etc. They also have a very iconic Obama Stimulus Package deal of buy 3 get 1 free LOL My favorite things to get are their mango smoothies and pandan egg puffs. I will say their drinks are a little sweet for me. Although I haven't yet asked if they can decrease the sweetness. Congrats to Hong Kong Snack House for celebrating 20 years!“
“I ordered a vegetable chow mein and it was absolutely delicious. I just moved to Vallejo and have tried a few places and this one by far was the best. The chow mein was so flavorful, I usually need a substantial amount of sweet and sour sauce but this dish was delicious even before I added my sauce. Will definitely be a regular. Great portion sizes and great prices.Vegetarian options: The vegetable chow mein is delicious!“
“We moved to the area several years ago and LOVE our local Chinese place. Food is always fresh and delicious, service is stellar - always prompt and courteous. The ambience is calm and clean - restrooms, too! Prices are better than lots of other places - really reasonable, especially given the recent increases around the Bay Area. Orange chicken is crunchy and delicious, vegetables are fresh and crunchy in everything, the Hot and Sour is not overly spicy but very flavorful. We love the noodle and rice dishes, too. We also love the lunch specials, and enjoy take out from time to time. Plenty of take out orders keeps a busy kitchen and fresh food, but plenty of seating for when you want to dine-in.“
“Our pastor introduced us to this place. Since then, we have been here for dates and group events. We also ordered take out delivery. Each time, the food has been served hot, fresh, and tastes good. Good portion sizes. Customer service is good. Would ho again.“
“In addition to nice fresh donuts they also have a wonderful lunch steam table with chicken, chicken strips, fried fish, steamed vegetables, fried rice, chow mein and a few other items at very reasonable prices. I usually get the fish plate with vegetables or chicken and chow mein. You'll have to go early though as they sell out frequently throughout the day. They also have a nice assortment of bottled drinks.Parking: Parking is a little tricky because it's a tiny lot but be patient as cars are frequently pulling in and out and you'll be able to find a spot in a matter of minutes.“
“Originally from S.F. but evrytime I come out to Hercules & I stop by, they never disappoint ! And that's for every dish. 5 plus stars and beyond. I love it here. Sweet & Sour fish w/ fried rice is my favorite, ordered pot stickers, veggie tofu, egg foo young shrimp, and full plate of chow main. Generous portions and piping hot food. Came up to $70. That's a steal !!!“
“Decided to try a new spot. This place is good. The guy working was super cool too. Did not go light on the shrimps either (I already ate a bunch before I took the pic lol) didn’t look like there was anywhere to sit so assuming take out only.“
“First time to dine in here, usually i have it delivered through grubhub. They always have huge portions for a price that doesnt break the bank.We had their lunch specials and the serving was big..it came with free soup, the soup was the hot and sour, i finished it but i wasnt always a fan.Parking is difficult, the anxiety having to park by the side of the road, and a lot of vehicles passing by..but no harm done.“
“I went here last night with my partner and my daughter and I’m so glad we did because it was awesome! Honestly the best Chinese food we’ve have since moving to the area 3 years ago. Everything is super fresh. My daughter ordered vegetable fried rice and there were actually hearty and fresh veggies in it! Im a vegetarian and ordered the “imitation” sweet and sour chicken. Normally im not big on fake meats but I’m so glad I got this because it was absolutely delicious. My very meat loving partner even liked it. The staff is extremely welcoming and very efficient. We will absolutely be back here and highly Recommend you try it!“
“Grabbed food to go during the holidays for family that was visiting, and everyone loved it! The pot stickers are huge and delish, lemon chicken good, chow main was excellent, a spicy beef dish, broccoli stir fry, etc. everything tasted really good, and leftovers the next day were even better“
“This comment should not be a negative criticism but solely from my opinion based on my recent dining experience.I remember when the lunch menu used to be $4.75 (still have their old menu) and now it's $11.95 - time change for sure. It's a struggle for everyone. I'm glad LHK is still around.I had one of the lunch specials and it was still as flavorful as I remember. Will be coming back but not as frequently as I used to.“
“We’ve been going to this place since 2001. Many life events have been celebrated here, with friends and family. So we’ve seen this place in its ups and downs. Yet despite that, it ands its staff have always provided with best dishes. Price have understandably rose since then, but the servings and quality have been not a disappointment either. Highly recommended place compared to other Asian food establishments in the area.“
“My parents and I stumbled upon this shop while being in this area.Service: There was no line. The staff was very kind and patient. We waited about 10 mins for the food.Food: I ordered the BBQ Chicken. My parents got the Teriyaki Chicken Bowl and the BBQ Mix. The food was hot in temperature and it tasted pretty good. The meat was tender. I enjoyed the macaroni salad and the veggies as well.I recommend coming here if you are in the area and are looking to eat some Hawaiian BBQ.“
“Fantastic and unexpected find! Hubby stopped to charge and we stumbled upon this established, but unassuming eatery that was simply fantastic! We had their house bone broth noodle soup and the pork belly - both of which wereIncredibly delicious. The 5-spice on the pork belly was terrific. Our server, Ryan, was knowledgable and proud of his family’s business, history and legacy…gave great recommendations. too! So delighted!“
“The sushi was amazing! Loved the quality of food. Here is my ONLY complaint: they had offered miso soup when I had sat down and I thought it was free. They ended up charging me 3$ for the soup when the bill came. This somewhat bothered me because I wasn't warned or else I wouldn't have gotten it. Otherwise, the food and the service is great. Recommend people to try this place out!“
“Found this place my accident and it has become one of my favourite place to come to. Its open late and its a lowkey vibe to it.The food is really good. They have a variety of grilled skewers and noodle and rice dishesI love the pork belly and button mushroom skewer and the minced pork noodle highly recommend“
“Happy wok is amazing. Been coming here since I was young. (Side note) I recommend the “Drums of heaven”. Besides that. They’re a small family business owned restaurant. They’re always on time and made top quality Chinese food. Check them out, folks. No cap.“
“I've eaten at here twice now, and the food is amazing and so authentic! I'm really glad they serve 攸县米粉 (rice noodles from my parents' region in China). I haven't seen anywhere else in the United States that does it, and they make it so well: the broth is incredibly flavorful, the portion is generous, and the egg they include is just like my mom makes them.“
“Ordered siu mai, soft and moist sticky rice in lotus leaf, chicken feet in black bean sauce, and Hong Kong-style chow mein is delicious (deep fried crispy noodles smothered with sauce, topped with veggies, seafood, chicken, char siu pork slivers)! Dimsum made to order. Will visit again next time I'm in town.Parking: Restaurant located across the church. Parking may be limited when mass is scheduled, especially Sundays.“
“Looking for some good ole Noodle Soup comfort food and read the reviews about this place so thought I'd try it... I got the Wonton Noodle Soup with Egg Noodles. It came with a very generous amount of Shrimp & Pork Wontons with Sliced BBQ Pork on top with Bok Choy. De-lish!!!!! I also order the Egg Rolls but for $14 for 5 which came out to roughly $2.80 each and I thought it a bit pricey (maybe because I did a delivery order) but they were good! Over all this place is a little more pricier than other Vietnamese/Pho restaurants but the quality of food is superior! This place is definitely on my repeat list!“
“Excellent dumpling place located in the heart of West berkeley, good selection of dumplings including some of my favorites like pan-seared pork buns and Szechuan noodles. It's a place that they stay open a little later than most of the dim sum spots in the east bay. Note. This is not a cheap dim sum place and all the stuff leans towards the more expensive.“
“Food is good . Customer service can be better. Like that they give a lot of food . I share 1 of the 3 item with my mom . Cause it’s a lot . So I say it’s good ..Vegetarian options: Un there’s some choices for vegetarians.Parking: It’s a shopping center . So there’s plenty of parking around.“
“The best Chinese food ever. I have eaten at this place for 20 plus years I think it changed owners but the food is on point I have been telling all friends about it and deserves to be recognized. If you want great food this the place for you. Trust me the lunch specials are to die the soup yummmm come on!!!!!“
