“It was a late Saturday evening after a special event. I was kind of lost and wasn’t sure stopping for food was a good idea yet hunger had made a loud announcement while driving. A sudden frustration came upon me which forced me to turn off in an exit ramp and to search for grub. my usually goto place In-and-Out was super busy during this time. I saw the sign on a street and continued to head towards this Pho restaurant.

Service was excellent . The food came quite quickly. I ordered a pho noodle soup with beef and brisket and a side dish of shrimp wrap. Noodles were chewy with basil and bean sprout on the side. The side dish was the shrimp wrap with vegetables.

Overall, it was a quick meal with quick service. Prices were reasonable. Family came and ate at this restaurant as well.

“Excellent, fast service. Delicious, filling (vegan!) Veggie noodle soup with Tofu and house made spicy sauce. More vegan options available that I will definitely come back for including Banh Mi and Vermicelli 😋

“Pho is all about the broth, and this place was amazing. You can tell the broth was cooked with a lot of bones and flavors like star anise because you can see the nice fat in the broth. I consider myself a bit of a pho connoisseur, and this was the best pho around El Cerrito. Portions are generous as well. I recommend the large combination (PHỞ XE LỮA) beef noodle bowl.“

“With prices going up, this is still a local staple at 6 something a sandwich. He packs my Bacon Bahn Mi with a good amount of meat! No cutting corners here :)

When I used to work in the area, I'd get their lunch plates they have wrapped up in the open fridge. Viet BBQ Chicken, Fried Egg Roll, and rice noodles are my go-to.

They also serve noodle soup, which a friend of mine way back said tasted like her mom's, very good; Chicken Pho.

“Can’t decide between egg rolls or spring rolls? Enter the Cha Gio Cuon…egg roll in spring roll. GENIUS! My companions had the chicken soup and fish banh mi, both also excellent. Their broth is super flavorful and the price is right. Owner and crew are very attentive.
The restaurant is beautiful with modern murals of Bay Area life, but eating near sundown was quite unpleasant in almost all tables due to west facing sun. Simple drapes/blinds would help.“

“I went here after work! I was famished! I was so happy w how cute their decorations are! The music was lovely! Sauces chili oil so good! And i cant believe they have Banh Khot! As its a bit labor intensive. Ive only had it at Tayho. Well this is their mamas recipe! Its a crispy coconut crepe w shrimp. They gave me fancy butter lettuce shiso and mint wraps for each one! I feel so pampered! Its now my favorite order! Noodle soup too is perfect for winter rainy days. Parking is a lot and super convenient location! Thx so much for feeding this famished lady. ?

But BE WARNED that the website for this restaurant is maintained by a third party (Simplemenu) that adds 15-20% to the price for each menu item for pickup and delivery orders. This upcharge is not separately identified or disclosed on the website. I pointed out this issue when picking up my online order. The cashier shrugged, was aware of the price difference, and explained that they don't run their own website. Try calling instead to get the actual menu price - although it's very hard to get anyone to answer the phone.“

“Staying at the Claremont this week, found this little hidden gem and it is amazing. I call it hidden because even though I could see it on the map I'm bad at navigation and had a hard time finding it.

I only got the original sandwich as I have never had one before. It was absolutely amazing and I hope to stop by again before leaving. Their menu prices seem unheard of in this area and they were slammed busy when I went for lunch. They did move fast though.“

“I love the food here and have eaten here many times. I usually get the pho or banh mi. The smoothies are delicious! But the boba is gross. It always has a bite to it and never tastes sweetened with brown sugar or honey. That's fine though, I just don't order it!

Unfortunately the woman working at the front makes me feel like I'm not welcome or inconveniencing her every time we order. We always say hi, sometimes we have questions, and tell her to have a nice day, but we either never get a response or the response is low energy. There's no eye contact, low volume, and visible eye rolling or scoffing, I know customer service isn't a fun job, but it almost feels personal? I'm really glad they have an online ordering option and a kiosk now because I can avoid her. She triggers my social anxiety because I feel like I'm doing something wrong every time I'm there.“

“Food is delicious. Their bahn mi sandwiches have quality flavor and are packed generously with meat and veggies. When I ordered it, they did communicate to me it would take long about 25 mins. However I did end up waiting about 35-40 mins. Order ahead of time if you're in a rush. I noticed other people were waiting a while for their food as well. There was only one person taking orders and delivering food. They are family owned and ran. I hope they can hire more people to make it run more efficiently.I do like how they have tofu bahn mi as an option! Most bahn mi places don't offer that.The seats seem scattered. “Their bahn mì and pho are exceptional. Amazing peanut sauce too. Usually the bahn mi bread hurts your mouth but theirs is softer and chewy and makes the buttery taste extra good. The tofu filling was great. Spring rolls great too!

“Excellent place!! I had the grilled pork banh mi, it was absolutely delicious. The meat was really well marinated with lemongrass and fish sauce, by the taste of it, and it wasn't too fatty. The banh mi had the right amount of pickles and cucumbers, and the service was quick and amiable. I intend to make this a regular spot for me.“

“I love Mint Leaf!What the food is like:The pho is good. Flavorful enough to not be boring, and plain enough that it is comfortable to eat. I like to get the special rare beef pho.The shaking beef plate might be my favorite when I want to be spoiled. It's basically a plate of big chunks of well-flavored meat (garlic, onion, salt, probably other flavors too). Love the sizzling sound it makes while it is served.The spring rolls are all really lovely, too. They have a lot of crispy textures stuffed into them.Most of the dishes are very flavorful. Some of them are also rich.Online ordering: I appreciate that Mint Leaf recently incorporated the ability to use Online Ordering through GrubHub and other platforms. I love being able to schedule a pick-up time. I used to order via telephone and would ask for extra jalapeños on the side, and they would sometimes be forgotten (totally okay!). Now that I am ordering online, though, there's a printed receipt that shows the request for extra jalapeños. It seems like this has been making it easier for the staff to ensure order quality. “We went when they opened at 4 pm on a Saturday after a show. Not only were they opened, but they seated us promptly. This is a nicely laid-out restaurant in the Rockridge area. They have a large vegan menu, and the food is authentic. I bit on the higher side but likely comparable to the neighborhood.

Vegetarian options: They have a large vegan selection with choices of "beef", "chicken", and "pork belly". You can't go wrong with any of them.“

“They have great asian food, I’m chinese-american and find it very comforting. I got the mapo tofu this time but I also like their eggplant tofu. The service is great, they are super friendly and even gave me a free tea egg today. You can join their wechat group chat to receive updates on daily specials, etc.“

“Can't rly give atmosphere 5 stars because it's takeout only but the wife and I love this place! Banh mi is excellent, as are the bowls of whatever. I don't think there's anything the owner chef woman can't make well. She used to run 3 restaurants! Also she is an angel. Go there for the owner chef woman if nothing else. Also egg rolls and crab rangoon are yummy.

They truly exceeded expectations. Every dish, from the appetizers to the rice dishes and soup, was simply exquisite, eliciting mouthwatering delight from all attendees. Despite the challenge of parking in the area, the food alone made it worth the effort. “Food is good but the lady who serves the food and who is at the cash counter doesn’t seems to care much. The lady who cleans the table smiles and talks in polite manner. The restaurant has a plenty of sitting capacity and it’s like L shape, so you have to walk to other side to pay at counter. If they improve the service and the payment method then it think it has a potential to do very good business.“

“The food here is great. But, I've reached the limit on what my pocketbook can Justify for a bowl of broth. I started going here pre-pandemic, but since then the cost has increased twice. The cost is almost double what it was. I had the small seafood pho with tip was 23.00. Really not a lot of seafood either to justify it. Go, enjoy your meal. “Very good! Stopped in after a movie. The service was impeccable! It was my first time eating at this location and as soon as we walked in, they made you feel like they have known you forever or that we were regulars. I noticed that some regulars who walked in, they already knew what they were going to order and were greeted exceptionally well. The food of course matched the service. Was very good. “Great pho, would recommend for a quick bite or to satisfy that pho craving. Mind you it’s not the most world breaking pho but it does give a good mom and pop vibe.

The only complaint I had on the pho was the meat balls, they had a weird flavor profile from what I’m used to and it did not pair well with the rest of the soup.

We had the number 8 and the number 14. Great service size and they do not skimp on the noodles. ? for being this close to the university the price is pretty great.

Even with one hour left to close they were alert and quick with the service and the food still was good quality.“

“Stopped in with the family for dinner. We had the shrimp rolls, basket of fries, a pork banh mi, a chicken rice plate, and a pork rice plate. Everything was delicious. “My son and I were visiting Berkeley and stopped in for lunch. We shared spring rolls for an appetizer. He had a ban mi sandwich that he said was excellent and my vermicelli noodles with chicken was also good. We stayed for a long time chatting and the server was nice about refilling our waters and letting us take our time.“

“Pho craz is really good ! it’s my go to spot. I don’t eat red meat so I go for the chicken noodle soup ! with a side of chicken wings and a smoothie so far i’ve only had that mango and strawberry which were both good. Try it ! You won’t be disappointed“

It’s a popular restaurant here so it might be flooded with students around lunch time, and the waiting time might be longer during peak hours.

Only things is that the tips is mandatory as there’s no other option when you order through the pad.
Also, since they’re generous with their sauce, if you don’t like too much sauce, choose “sauce on the side” option and not mix in. ?
